Take a look again. Ray of Enfeeblement gets a nice boost, Icy Terrain gets the ability to place the ice patch at a ranged location, and there are others. The ones that don't say anything about mastery get a small magnitude bonus, but I don't remember what.

Yup, what greywynd said. We even complained about that knockback attack and was told it's all as intended. On a brighter note, in the last stream they did say they were going to work on those attacks that don't match their red zone. I was told that even for a private queue you still had to have a person with 20k+ to start it and you could go in with 19k yourself. I don't know how true that is, but that's what I was told.

I'll just be happy if I can finally farm influence for my guild again and retain guildmates. Oh heck, as CW you really can't control or really do much DPS. Skills that should apply smolder or any DOT don't really.
