I started the poll thread and I did not include my own opinion (though I did vote) simply to satisfy my curiosity on what other D&D fans thought of the state of the game. I thought that if I were concerned about it, others were too, and numbers will help give a solid idea of how people felt the game related to D&D itself.…
You can always do web hosting services. They are rather cheap now, I think as low as 3 dollars a month and 10 dollars for a domain name. You can put wordpress on it and host your files that way. It's what I do for my projects. Prices at godaddy aren't too bad at all.
I will say that when I was playing the game, what felt most restrictive was the item variety. It may be because we only had 30 levels to play with, but I sure would have loved more choices for weapon styles for each class. Also, every weapon upgrade I ran into for my rogue was just another dagger (or in one case, an axe).…
It definitely is one of my primary concerns. I don't want to have to be stuck with just dual wielding as a rogue, though the fact that they are using premade builds as classes and have attack animations dedicated to whatever weapon combination each released class is stuck with warrants my skepticism, but it wouldn't hurt…
I just listened through the podcast, and I may have missed it, did they talk at all about the class restrictions on items? I know they talked a little bit about free form and customization.
I would think going from good to evil or evil to good would be drastic as well. For cases in most stories or history the catalyst for such a change is some sort of revelation or life changing moment. Anyway. In my opinion an alignment is not necessary a reflection of your actions, but instead the label of your moral…
I'd love to have voice-overs for foundry modules, but only if it's well done. Perhaps Cryptic could expand the Foundry rating system to include categories so that players can rate the voice over as well? I'm not sure. Neverwinter Online already uses a streaming system to download content in a modular fashion, this probably…
Can't someone also change their associated deity at any time? Would you rather have that part of the character creation be a write in instead of a set of options? Or would you rather have in-game mechanics that give your deity choices weight in the game? I'm being sincere, it's not rhetorical.
You misunderstand me. My meaning was not that the item itself has alignment restrictions, but the manner in which the item is acquired. Nonetheless we stand at different points on this. For the sake of argument, I will bring in WoW. You have two factions with two faction-oriented gear (the gear itself technically did not…
"Alignment don't decide who you are, you decide what alignment you want to take" -- yes... as in you choose the alignment you want your character to be associated with... "So apart from being an RP flag, and using a few rare items, there is not much use to alignment." -- Rare items and RPing are two good reasons to have…
Perhaps world events would be more appropriate to foster raids instead of static dungeons? Such as a Dracolich attacking Neverwinter or wreaking havoc in Neverwinter Wood, or something just as epic?
I have to agree with andysdead1 That last cinematic was real cool, it was good to see the diversity of classes and characters in the last one. It hyped me up a bit. A close second would be Part 1 of the cinematic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS-w9tj8njQ Simply because introducing Valindra was just epic
it's crazy with what extremes he's taking just to garner some attention. Does he think he's going to thwart the game company with 20 likes on his FB page? What gets me is people get self-righteous when a game company releases an F2P game and tries to make a profit from it. A company that does not make a profit doesn't stay…
I agree with this, BUT!! I think holiday specials on the ingame store is an awesome way to show appreciation to the fans. Discounts are always welcomed.
Sorry but this irks me. Go to a dealership and have the car salesman tell you how much the car is worth, and you'll be out a few thousand dollars over it's actual value. Just because the salesman tells you the price of something, does not finalize the value of that product. The value of a product is solely based on what…
I plan on exploring the possibilities of the foundry system. Looking forward to that! I also plan to investigate on the customization potential for character builds (whether the choices are shallow or in-depth), since these two are my largest concerns (much like quite a bit of people here), and submitting bug reports along…
I have to agree fully to number 7. One reason why I love DnD and NWN 1 and 2 were the customization. And I'm not talking about just vanity or flavor, but actually how you play your character. It is one of the more effective factors in making a game replayable. By adding class customization (with hybridization and…
It is sold because people buy it. The value of anything isn't determined on the price tag, but what people are willing to pay for it. Now-a-days we have a population of gamers that are willing to shell out money for early access, even if it was originally designed as a testing phase. An ugly truth.
From: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?30771-Neverwinter-Beta-Which-Founder-s-Pack-items-will-you-receive-during-Beta Is this correct or is this supposed to be exclusive only to Hero of the North Founder Pack?
Remember this is a free to play game and a company has to make their money. This is one service that doesn't give anyone a specific benefit over non-payers. I'm all for it, and will probably end up paying for additional slots without a problem. What I don't want to see is a transition to Pay-to-Win which I think has been a…
