  • I picked one hell of a time to try and come back to the game. I'm on a brand new windows 8 machine and can't even log in to patch/download the game because of this error. The DNS was just flushed, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, resetting the modem and computer, everything mentioned in the thread. Nothing. :/
  • Hey now, what if he was talking about a particularly nefarious thief/secret agent bat girl from the Sonic series?
  • Fixed. Seriously, the title's a meme waiting to happen.
  • Fear advantage the white one is immune to! Do I REALLY need to explain "five angry cat" metagame? It's first grade! Sarcasm aside, the classes feel just fine. Rogues do ridiculous amounts of damage, CW holds mobs in place and trolls people in pvp, GWF bunches mobs up and chops them into bits, GF chuckles at your attempt to…
  • Seriously, I hated CWs in pvp. Rogues were fine if I blocked in time but the one thing I detest is being kited by a wizard, especially when they can just use a force push and freeze ray to keep me at bay. If TRs are the frothing FPS players, CWs are the trolls, and I HATE trolls more than someone who claims my mother's…
  • Why is this thread still a thing? In PvE rogues are the ones doing the most damage to a single enemy so they need as much power as possible. It's fine because the players are working together to overcome a dungeon or boss. You nerf rogues, you screw over everyone else because now they can't do damage. In PvP matches are a…
  • Just remember to play your GF correctly. remember, you're job isn't to go out and pick off enemies or sweep an area of opponents, your job is to bunker down and hold a position long enough to either kill off anyone that tries to knock you off or your allies can join you.
  • Guardian fighter, natch.
  • ^ I'm not even good at pvp or like it, but the couple times I tried it I could actively block any attack a rogue threw at me and retaliate with my own attacks. Hell I've gotten the jump on them with my own encounter powers. Most of the time I just had trouble figuring out what was going on. PvP's a chaotic mess where…
  • That still sounds pretty advantageous. I remember on my guardian trying to decide between a feat that increased my max shield meter or my max str (for more shield). I think with those extra 3 I wouldn't have to worry about making choices, especially if it's for a lower tier feat.
  • So on top of your 5-second-boss-killing-stunlocking prowess you want more attack speed? How about they just give you homing missiles and darksteel armor?
  • Now I wish I could see that. Big *** terrasque with the tiniest of daggers duct taped to their leg :<
  • Have I mentioned how glad I am to see a game community that's actually trying to have an intelligent conversation instead of insulting one another? I tip my hat to you all for not devolving into an internet slap fight. That said, My argument towards all of this is the unique passive each race gets has far more of an impact…
  • When minmaxing is involved, all you can be is critical. You're looking at the metagame. While I'm over here playing my female dwarf guardian because she reminds me of a character from a story I'm writing, people are playing a certain class so they can get the best possible outcome in either attack, defense, control,…
  • Everyone else. It's not hard to drop a guardian's shield. Hell, just get behind them while they're distracted.
  • For the record, I despise DPSers. They treat me, the tank, like an expendable meatshield that only slows their killing down and lowers their K/D ratio. On multiple occassions I've been told they could do my job, rush into a group like Leeroy, get killed, then blame me for not tanking mobs that were too far away for me to…
  • My bad for not reading the rest. Sorry :<
  • But to make a player to choose a race they don't like all for something that'll only happen .1% of the time? I don't know, I think the differences in power are there but it's not game-breakingly bad enough to not choose a race you love. I can understand the plight of someone wanting a halfling or elf guardian, and if…
  • I really appreciate your thought out post explaining why my question could be invalid, but I had to stop here. Are you telling me that in this game we'll eventually be able to do 163k damage PER SECOND? My level 1 rogue was hitting 10 on a starter zombie, and you're telling me eventually I'll be doing so much damage my…
  • Guild wars 2 did that. It was horrible because even with the best gear you still got your *** handed to you in the lowest level dungeon if you weren't prepared. It's not even a situation where you just weren't experienced enough, even the best players have to go all out to kill ONE GUY in those dungeons when the player's…
  • Which games have damage so ridiculously high that 2% makes an impact? Even in Maplestory 2% won't matter much.
  • Deflect suggests a redirection of damage away from the victim to another source other than the attacker. Reflect would suggest returning damage to the attack. As far as I can tell, Deflect is a damage mitigation that occurs based on a percentage, that halves the damage you normally take.
  • I'm not going to bad mouth a game I'm starting to actually like, but how is this game, an action RPG with big enemies that telegraph attacks so you can either dodge or block at appropriate times all while integrating the holy trinity, any different from Monster Hunter, Tera, C9, or Raider Z? Because it takes place in a DnD…
  • Female dwarf, because when I'm jamming a rusty shiv in your back I want to do with a curvy lady in leather pants <3
  • Kinda funny, since I tend to use names no one uses. It's a nice touch, and hopefully my friends can find me ingame.
  • Although I'm not a fan of PvP, I feel the PvP from Guild Wars 2 was pretty well done. It was a separate area where everyone was set to max level, with all skills unlocked. You were forced to use standard issue weapons with enchants of your choice (just not your personal pve gear) so everyone had access to the same stuff.…
  • Then don't PvP. It's an afterthought anyway.
  • First of all, this is essentially Tera or Raider Z with a new skinjob. We're about as "new" as any korean MMO is to WoW. Second, it's not about what makes sense, it's about how the holy trinity holds up. A tank holds the attention of mobs, a healer keeps allies alive, a dps kills things. If the tank can't do its job…
  • They may be able to do a ton of damage to single targets, but their speed and ability to switch targets on the fly means they're just as good when it comes to doing splash damage. Even some of their "single target" moves hit multiple mobs.
  • Having not played the previous weekends, I felt the skill was underpowered. I was only healing back half the damage I was receiving at best. Coupled with my shield breaking every five seconds because enemies that matter are capable of two shotting your block gauge I couldn't tank as effectively with it as I was let to…
