  • I know what I'll be grinding for this weekend!
  • NOOOOOO! WHY??? Is it because of Tenacity? The new forum layout? Don't leave us! In all seriousness, congrats on the new position! I know it's crazy hard to get faculty positions in this economy.
  • Player housing seems cool. It's like the ultimate vanity item, and if people want to spend lots of money to pimp out a fake house, that just ensures regular content and updates for the rest of us.
  • Dread Protectors are from the D&D 4E Monster Manual 3, page 74 as part of the Dread Warriors entry (along with Dread Guardian, Dread Archer, etc). They are medium creatures with a greataxe made as body guards by necromancers. Obviously Cryptic beefed them up just a tad, but they fill the same role. I don't think they are…
  • I tired to move everything to the side so I don't get blinded during a boss fight when someone picks up something shiny. I can move the other announcements, but not that actual need/greed/pass window. Cryptic, please let us move this like other windows!
  • I was thinking about this with my cleric the other day. Cleric armors have really cool cutouts and key holes (for fem models at least) that don't do anything because you are looking just more chainmail underneath. What's the point of having these cool layers to the armor if you can't tell they are there when you are…
  • Please make this change cryptic and save your poor database! Besides waiting until you actually click "search" to do a search, I would like to see the first time you click on a sort option (buy now, time, etc) it sorts smallest to greatest. If I'm searching by buyout price, but then I want to search for time remaining I…
  • This should get better after the server merge.
  • It seems like they are trying to kill the auction house, and I can't figure out why. The whole time = $ foundation of free to play is that some players are willing to spend time grinding and other players are willing to spend money to buy the items those players grind (by converting zen into AD or getting loads of AD in…
  • Just tried your suggestion Vientor, no luck. Now I'm wondering if you can only change appearance with items of the same rarity. The battlefield stalker hat is purple while the pirate hat is only blue. Has anyone be able to change appearance with items of different rarities?
  • I have had something similar happen. I was trying to change my battlefield stalker hat to look like the hat of the pirate horde (or whatever) and it wouldn't work, even though they are both freaking hats. My theory was that it wasn't working because the battlefield stalker hat is a TR only hat, and the pirate horde can be…
  • Because the Cryptic devs intentionally made the dungeons grindy and unfun?
  • I think this is the main gate keeper to dungeons. I would love to see a breakdown of the player base by class %, because I would bet it would be heavily skewed to DPS (including CWs who think that's their role) which leads to everyone standing around hoping a DC will queue. Especially with the next classes 2 seeming like…
  • That logic just gets everyone nerfed. Better the DC gets brought up to par and everyone's happy rather than everyone else getting nerfed and everyone is pissed off.
  • Still, without more content (classes, paragon trees, pvp, zones, anything) the game is going to get old quick. I have an alt that just does Foundry quests, and many of them are amazing, but the reward chest at the end is a kick in the junk. woooo white gear drop after a 40 minute quest. And Gauntlgrym is only good if you…
  • I was hoping for a keyboard shortcut to delete mail (you can sometimes hit enter after clicking delete and get that to work, though it always seems to get confused with the chat after a while). But your idea of being able to select mail en-mass would be better.
  • How did the party buff in SWTOR work? It's been a long time since I played but I think every race (or class?) gave a tiny buff to the party. If it's balanced (which we know it won't be so they will never do it) I think it could work out well. Something like "each TR gives +0.5% crit chance" or "each player with Religion…
  • That's a good idea, it would help save some of the quests that get buried by the featured ones.
  • Be wary of unofficial apps if you log in through them. It's an easy way for them to get your account information. Edit: I second seeing how much experience you have/need to level up for your professions and being able to invoke on the gateway. Using a portable alter is a brilliant idea and seems perfectly balanced.
  • Every other tree scales pretty well for xp (like 800 for mass curing exotic pelts at level 16 I think). Leadership is stuck at 40/hour max or 30/hour if you don't want to mircomanage (war games). I was trying to push to 18 to make a hero, but 17 is going to take so long I think I'm just going to farm refugees on the AH…
  • Hell yeah! spending 45 minutes to walk away with 5 silver makes dungeons feel pretty worthless with out the chest.
  • I think ranged archer and warlock are planned next, someone found some game files relating to them so they are already in development to some degree. Considering how DCs ranged attack worked out I hope they are looking into how to make it more fun.
  • A map sized ceiling sealing ceiling for all the maps would be awesome. Also more solo mobs for "boss" fights like have been said. I would prefer to change NPC hair/skin color through a selector rather than having a dozen presets for every race/gender. Last I checked there still wasn't a black haired, pale halfling! More…
  • They are necessary for soloing. Since we are tied into certain roles by our class we need someone to fill out that support role or play the meat shield if we are the striker. I think comparing to NWN or Baulder's Gate is a mistake though. Those games were story focused white NW is... Foundry/UGC focused i guess? That means…
  • There was a back scabbard, but for that they would take it off and pull out the sword before combat started. The scabbard would just be dumped somewhere and retrieved after the battle. You definitely couldn't draw the sword while it was still sheathed on your back. Roman infantry also mostly used the gladius, which is a…
  • There should be some over-arching story. With Neverwitner it's kind of weird because you have to answer a bunch of questions the campaign setting gives you. Will Lord Neverember back a True Heir if one arises or will he have them assassinated or discredited? How far will the various factions get? It's weird with the…
  • Did people not see this post? It makes this thread obsolete. It looks like we will get to worship evil dieties, so you can be a follower of Asmodeus going around murdering the Ashmodi. Or a follower of Loth killing drow. Both those groups are backstab happy though so it's probably not too out of the ordinary. Don't forget,…
  • Faaaairly certain that was sarcastic. Weapons scale to fit the model that's wielding them, so I bet halflings swords will be shorter than humans, but will hit the same. THOUGH range could be a problem! and for a GWF that is a huge issue.
  • If they had an "Item wear/repair" mechanic then maybe. But to just up and break your stuff? Nein!
