Yeah I tried re-equipping and the tool tip is lit up so everything should be working properly as far as I can tell. For some reason though, whenever I use a Daily it has no affect on the cooldown of my encounters like the tool tip says....pretty frustrating.
Do you think that maybe, just maybe it's possible that most of you don't really know what you're doing yet and are prematurely bashing a class because you're all still in newb mode with a class you've never played before? I would say it's highly likely. If you're drinking down potions like crazy, then learn to dodge and…
Hey don't take my word for it, go check it out yourself. Go look at all of the forums and count up the number of people that are in my corner and the number that make up your minority...you probably won't even have to count , it will be obvious to you. Then you can realize it is fact and not opinion
That's awesome and I honestly don't care if that's how you prefer to play, it doesn't bother me and you're entitled to that. But just realize that you're in the vast minority when it comes to that and don't act like we're infringing on your play style or your worldview or something because you're in a minority. Of course…
Yeah that's totally fine, I agree that a cleric shouldn't have to play without ever having to use a pot. But to have them go from having to use none to being the class that has to use the most is a little ridiculous. I think they can find a better middle ground with it. A cleric shouldn't be able to heal party members for…
Well by using the words "If I had to guess" I was hoping that might clue you into the fact (no pun intended) that I was speaking from a place of opinion and not fact. Not sure where the assumption is coming from that I could actually back something like that up with research, but ok...
Ok argantis, point taken. I'm going to have to call you out on saying PvP is at the heart of DnD though. DM's matching wits against the people actually running the dungeon isn't the same as what we're talking about with modern PvP...you're better than that. Modern PvP seems to be one giant pissing contest for the most…
Hahaha dude...just stop, seriously. You're not doing yourself any favors here. "The best DnD campaigns we ever had were PVP." You're complaining about someone else speaking from a place of opinion and not fact? That statement is 100% opinion my friend. His statements however, are facts. Just do a little bit of…
Really? Have you played Guild Wars 2? What a completely garbage game for PvE. The most monotonous and redundant HAMSTER I've ever seen. That game is completely catered to PvP. It's pretty to look at but there is no substance there. That's just one example, I'm sure there are others....
I agree. I have made my concerns regarding PvP negatively affecting PvE pretty clear...but nothing has been done yet, the game is just about to launch, and I'm going to trust that the devs know what they're doing. I think that this game was made by primarily guys and gals that really enjoy traditional DnD gameplay and the…
I can appreciate your point of view and I think it is one that a lot of people share. But the fact that cleric's self healing got nerfed because of the class having too many potions just doesn't add up to me and I don't buy it. Potions drop at such a high rate currently that it is irrelevant. My GWF had over 100 potions…
Just to be clear, I am in agreement with the OP here. I do not mind PvP actually being in the game and I can see how the NW combat system and the flow of the game would make PvP a lot of fun. I just don't want to see solid PvE classes get run into the ground because of PvP balance. As long as the devs can find a way to…
It doesn't take much to make the connection that the cleric and GWF have already been drastically changed because of PvP. I mean, the cleric can barely even heal himself now because "he's too tough to kill in PvP, waahh waahh." Yeah he's a cleric, he should be tough to kill in PvP...you might actually have to send multiple…
Yeah there is one of the major problems right there... The cleric went from supposedly not having to use any potions and therefore having more gold than other classes (which is insignificant as far as I can tell so far) to having to use MORE potions than any other class. The class with the least amount of dps now has to…
I did the exact same thing. I played a Human GWF focused on STR and CON during the four beta weekends and got up to level 38. I thought that he played really well and I was very happy with it. I am running him almost exclusively in a duo with a friend of mine and that is kind of making me re-think it to make sure CON is…
Yeah that's a good point about the Half-Elves. I want to make my Ranger a Half Elf but the racial benefits are definitely a little on the lame side right now.
That's a convenient lie that they told the community because they obviously didn't want to admit it was because of PvP. Not to mention the fact that it's completely irrelevant with the current drop rate of pots anyway.
Yep, exactly. Hopefully that happens. If PvP balance issues start to ruin classes in PvE I'm going to be very very disappointed and my interest will wane rather quickly.
Yeah, both of you guys make some good points. The only thing about potentially speeding up Wicked Strike is that it kind of negates the class ability, Unstoppable. When you have enough Determination to activate it then you are getting that increased attack speed right there. If you speed up the standard attack speed then…
I think you are missing the point. The class is not about doing as much damage as the rogue...it's about doing above average damage and doing it to large groups rather than just one target like the rogue. It's also about being able to stand in there and take more of a hit if need be. There are also skills like Roar and…
Yeah exactly... I really am not sure what does more damage per second but if I had to guess I would day Reaping Strike does more by a little bit. This class is all about AoE damage control, managing your enemies, and keeping them at a distance as much as possible...for me anyways. I tried to use skills like Roar and…
Reaping Strike did do noticeably more damage for me when I charged it all the way up. The functionality is not for everyone and will probably not be for me in every situation, but when faced with larger groups of enemies I found it much more useful. When you're surround by several enemies at once and have a synergistic…
I kind of disagree actually. I played in a duo for all three beta weekends and Sure Strike just didn't seem to work as well in fights with large mobs as Reaping Strike did. I was a little disappointed with how long it took to use at first as well, but it really got better and more fluid for me the farther along I went.…
I would like to see a lot of the same type of things, but most of all I am just hoping for an immersive experience. I have been extremely disappointed with GW2 so far because they offer so few dungeons, no actual "questing" other than your personal story line. The open world part of the game is ridiculously boring to…
