I would greatly appreciate the fixing of the broken Shift on the NEW Paladin class... This is my new main, I'm a palatank. As the stupidly hard hitting mobs bash me in the T2 epic dungeons, NEARLY 1 shotting me with over 120k HP and over 50% damage reduction... I find myself extremely frustrated that shifting makes me look like the GF "angry crab" and then I die... Often... How is a staple role in dungeoning that's broke like this NOT even mentioned as being looked into, let alone fixed after 2 patches since release of the mod??
NOTE: This is NOT a "The game's too hard" - I want to have the reliability of hitting my shift and having it WORK - timing is crucial.

there is also a problem with vow of enmity....when it procs, the devs made a typo and it says vow of emnity FIX this game breaking bug....This typo HURTS my eyes
They should make it a toggle with a much faster casting time.
Even a dodge mechanic while farting out a healing rainbow would be better than what we have right now.
There's a massive problem when both the GF tank and OP healer die to scorpions because of crappy shift mechanic while the DPS just dodge out of the way and kill them both. Not fun standing there watching it all feeling useless.
i have to say this has been the main thing holding me off from playing the game much.
i like the paladin class and wanted to play as a tank paladin, but i noticed before i was even level 10 that shift just doesn't work half the time. i know from playing months ago that i will get 1-shot by red circles if i cant block or dodge, so yeah.
Since this issue wasn't mentioned in today's patch notes, I wanted to bring it back out again as it still is not fixed. I have found that if I don't see the circle around me that repeatedly hitting shift will eventually get it to work, however by the time I've done that I am probably already dead.
People have been complaining about the broken shift mechanic as well as a lot of the other bugs that are still plaguing paladins since they were still being beta tested and they still aren't fixed! I honestly don't think the devs even care if there is a broken class that is just about unplayable due to all the bugs it suffers from since they have failed to fix it and it's been several months since they were in beta test.
GF's shift mechanic has had issues since....well forever. Welcome to the club
You can thank hackers. The GF Guard mechanic was client-based: instantaneous and awesome. It worked perfectly every single time. Then within a week of open beta public access hackers hacked their game clients to turn the guarding into an exploit (I don't remember exactly what it was, I think it was unlimited stamina or something, I forget).
Because of this exploit the Devs changed things around so that now the guard is server-based: you press shift key, the client then tells the server you pressed shift, the server then tells the client "okay, hold up the shield". This is why it is so sluggishly sloppy now. And since the Paladin shift is based on the Guardian shift that sluggish sloppiness is now extended to the Paladin.
Hence it will more or less always take a half-second to a full second from pressing shift to 'shield up'. Must learn to anticipate better and press earlier. As for the intermittent "doesn't even work": I chalk that up to sporadic latency between client and server at the time.
Makes sense but its not just the delayed activation. I've already learnt to work around it. What really irks me is that my Paladin very often goes into GF blocking stance before entering to his own. Thats ****ing annoying
The delayed action and animation issues are minor problems compared to it completely misfiring and getting one-shot.

I just rolled an OP last night, first time back in the game in months. I figured that the bugs with the class would be fixed up by now, but Sanctuary was only working ~30% of the time, and Smite's AoE damage wasn't working. I has sad

I had basically forgotten about the "not working" bug since I left Valliant strike behind, but last night it caught me a few times and was quite noticeable.
Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin Obsidian Oath - Warlock A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.
One thing I've not seen mentioned is that Sanctuary does not protect against the Polymorph ability of the Witches in Sharadar. At all. Regardless of how early you engage it. That can't be WAI can it?
If anything this seems to have gotten worse since Thursday's patch.

But today (my first real playing since patch) I was mashing shift and not bringing up Sanctuary a helluvalot more often than bringing it up. It's not a lag issue as everything is still right-as-rain in that aspect (I'm in the Seattle area - heh).

Actually, it works in the regard that you don't get dazed so you can use abilities even though the polymorph visual took hold.

There's t3 and t4 dungeons? That's news tome. When were these released? If you mean t1 and t2 I don't find the damage that disturbing, find it quite manageable actually if you go in playing as a tank, and not DPS.
