We do have a standard time - UTC, Coordinated Universal Time. It's just that not everyone uses it for normal day-to-day functions. If you think "normal" time zones are bad, some places have time zones that are offset 30 minutes. All of India is in one time zone 5 hours 30 minutes offset from UTC. Then there is Nepal and Chatham Islands that are offset 45 minutes (or 15 depending on your reference).

For most practical intents and purposes GMT and UTC are pretty much the same thing. Anyways, be glad we *have* standardised times now; used to be virtually every town in every country had its own local time...
IIRC it was the railroad that changed that. Timetables aside, coordinating train movements was SRS BSNS for obvious reasons. :x

im american and meh head hurts now. jk but i am really confused. why cant we all be on the same time zone all over the world. it would make things much simpler. sure wed all have night at different times but is that really all that bad?

Because we don't have stardates. Not our fault the world has to be rebellious and spin on its axis in space.

Naw, the problem is PWI laid off 20% of their squirrels, and a ton more followed 60% of Neverwinter players to other MMOs...

True. They didn't cause the Daylight Savings thing tho. That started just after WWII to lower the heating and energy bills for the common folks.

In the US it was WWI actually. Germany, and later the UK and others did it first. Though, in the US it was later repealed only to be reinstated after WWII. Timing aside, though - yup, it was an economic issue.

Still can't spend my overload power points?

I found I had gotten jammed on my chr when I didn't take up the free respect given to me a bit ago.

I hate respecs, but taking it unjammed everything in powers and feats. Check lower left hand corner on chr sheet to see if a free respec is lurking there for you.

Excuse meh. We have stardates. There are plenty of calculators for it. It's just that humankind refuses to use it. It's still thinking it's the most important element in the universe. They even still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.. Barbarians.

Ahh, one day I'll be able to tell my computer, "Computer, run adventuring simulation 'Neverwinter'".

Im just happy that they update us. In another game I played we would have them extending the patches for literally days on end without even updating the community.

Way ahead of you there too. Dragonsoft Naturally speaking. Allows for voice commands to a computer. Bloody expensive, and mainly used to let visually impaired people operate a computer. Of course it can also be used to dictate texts to your word processor. All we need is a holographic version of NW. Perhaps that's the "secret project" they are working on :D

"What happened to that guy?" "Oh...he was running Neverwinter with the safeties turned off...."

And yes, I once had an REALLY early version of Dragon. What good is voice recognition software that doesn't even recognize your own voice? :P We don't enunciate down South....
