Geas becomes 100% unusable tomorrow for all circumstances.. there is zero reason to ever slot it again..
will not work on bosses, probably shouldnt EVER have.
but... get this.. it will have a 30 second cooldown for pvp. What???? ya, exactly, way , WAY to long, maybe ten seconds.
Which puts the nail in the coffin on the totality of how terrible the work for DC was in mod 6...
on the bright side.. BTS can be used instead of FF for debuffing purposes.

Sympathies. IMO there should be less "full CC immunities" in the game anyway. Lostmauth and Tiamat seem like the only bosses that should be fully CC immune imo. Other bosses should have varying control defense based on their dungeons rank. IE Traven should be less difficult to affect with CC than Syndrith. All dungeon minor-bosses should have challenging but not too difficult to overcome CC defense for casual and pug players to learn dungeons and get a decent feel for the difficulty of the dungeon. IE minor bosses in Cragmire Crypts should *feel* easier to control than minor bosses in ToS - just as the major bosses should feel more and more difficult to overcome.

Cleric finally gets a skill actually usable in boss fights, except buffing / debuffing and healing.

Well i'm glad they fixed that bull**** spell. To me the intent was clear: helping DCs in solo lairs. Stun the boss, deal with adds, job done.
No one raged about CWs no having it. Stunning a boss was just ridiculous. It shouldn't happen. There are games in which you can stun boss (like wildstar) but at least it's been intended from the start, stuns are very short (2s or so) and it requires a good amount of teamwork to interrupt the room-wide (ie team wipe) aoes.

again.. im not really arguing the point on PVE.. did you not see what they did to the skill for pvp.. 30 seconds is beyond ridicolous adjustment.. its WAY out of line to other classes cooldowns. Its more like a enchant cooldown!

Its not a good practice.
I'm not overly excited about the pvp changes but it is what it is, I can't do anything about that. They should have shortened the duration on players instead. But still as it is on live it was a bit too good in pvp.
I don't have problem with changes, i would have problem if developers assume "average gear party needs DC with Geas to beat boss", or "OP tank is required for control adds with Banishment".

In most of the guides I've read, it states that Geas should be used on the boss's 'mini-boss.'
I.e. Most bosses will spawn a secondary elite mob at 33% .. This is the one you use Geas on to regain control of the fight/adds.

in pve, I used it exactly in one place, scorps in elol. I never used it anywhere else. but frankly ANY class can kite a scorp, this power just made it easier to burn one down instead.
for regular old pve solo stuff.. go with Divine Glow, SB and chains (or dl your choice.. chains is a wider aoe)
if you are righteouss, you might want to use a DOT somewhere.
otherwise, this has zero use now. It was cleary supposed to be a powerful PVP lockdown against cws ect.. but now it has no function at all.. back to break the spirity, sb , ashield or whatever your favorite combo is.

No class should have a crowd control spell/ability that can affect bosses, it would make them open to abuse and decrease the challenge of boss fights. Like I said in another post it is meant to be a tactical spell used in situations like mentioned above...unlike the majority CW mentality of charge in - press a button - stun everything. I can only imagine the PvP changes are to stop people from spamming it on anyone they come across.

Actually .. i did the same thing. I did try to use it once in Shores as well, on the dragon. But for some reason the dragon was still jumping around like a rabbit.
One of my main skills, that i never move is Divine glow. I am proud of that skill and i find it amazing in all and every dungeon, no matter what mod or what boss. I just switch from bastion and ind. heals. I was rightous spec from beta. But now i found out it is better for me and everyone else to be either virtouse. or faithfull. It helps people more then me doing dmg, that is not necessary.
When we got Geas i was quite happy when i found out i can just get one scorpion away long enough for my party to kill the other one.
Felt more usefull. Now it is back to just dashing around and healing/buffing/debuffing. I am just sorry i had Geas on 4/4 :P

you miss the point.. it has no use.

you cant use it in pvp, because of massive cooldown.
Why am I the only one who sees this. I dont mind dumping it for pve, if it was clearly to be a pvp skill.. but to make something a enchant level cooldown.. is ridiculous. it wasnt that powerful, it was a lockdown only, YOU couldnt kill anyone with it.
I happened to use it in GG after I rode to 2 at the start (or 4) waited for it to be turned, hit it on the tailend rider and turned the node to blue, I would continue to play with that one person if I could tagging them with geas while I waited it out, I would then see if I could bait that person to 1 while teamates would arrive to help finish them off.
now thats completely gone. BtS doesnt stun long enough to matter.
its just another adjustment and takes away some of the fun I was having. meh..

is single target.the cooldown is for the x player? EXample i geas the player 1 i cant geas him again but i can geas the player 2?
The Geas was potent and I agree it needed some fixing, but wow, 30 sec cool down and bosses are CC immune to it. So in other words instead of just scaling it down a bit, you destroyed this encounter well done as always nothing new.
This is just going to be another useless encounter that nobody is going to use, great stuff dev keep it up, you are destroying this game more and more. Claps
it's okay guys... we can STILL use Geas on trash mobs. I mean... that's what we need, a powerful control to keep that one skeleton out of the fight for 60 seconds....
For PvP, I'm sure that cooldowns for stuns, freezes, and dazes are coming so that we DCs aren't cc locked in PvP despite full tenacity gear... right? right?.... um....
Okay, enough of the sarcasm. I find it ludicrous that THIS was such a high priority for a "fix". I thought this was WAI on bosses, because why else would a high level power be a single target control, if not meant for powerful mobs?
To adapt a phrase from a great novel, "All classes are equal, but some classes are more equal that others." Where is the healadin's Righteousness? Why do Renegade CW's get a capstone heal that does 50k hp in healing? Meanwhile, I'm finding that my self-heals from Astral Seal are being mitigated (please check your logs if this is happening to you).
I want to love this game, and have invested so much time into it, but really, I'm just bloody tired of my class of choice being ground into meal. I don't want to be relegated to being another player's healing companion with better decision making than an AI.

Ah... THAT's why this was such a priority. Anything that CW players have complained about in the last year have had near instantaneous attention. Protocols still the same I guess.

Seriously.... they "fix" this, yet REPURPOSE SOUL still does not work with Daunting Light, Chains of Blazing Light, or Flamestrike since 2013. Geas was such a longstanding issue by comparison....

The empowered Astral Shield uptime isn't long enough for the entire phase. In the 4 seconds of no shield (based on a reasonably high recovery) the party will still get blasted.
Before mod4, I would have to use SB to toss trash mobs that's nearly killing the super glass cannon CW and tank for a bit before dodging around like crazy since they were too busy nuking bosses instead of properly doing cc'n aside from sing spams. Many didn't care back then (and now), why should they care now?
Q.Q a DC want's to be a Cuntroll Cleric just because they gave them a power that is not working as INTENDED. If the power was to ignore any CC immunity they would clearly state it in the TOOLTIP. There are classes that have more useless, utterly useless slots than their highness-messiah DC. Too cheap.

Agreed. Totally fine if other classes has control abilities(DC, TR etc).

Solo content. Like, solo daily lair bosses. The ones in well of the dragon definitely have to be stunned while you kill adds.
