One of the clear lack of issues with this class is its listed as a controller.. but every control type powers are vastly underperforming. Gaes was at least a clear good lockdown for pvp purposes, but it took A. Cordination and B. knowledge to use it ok.

Now.. you get slows (doesnt stop anyone from controlling you) a root.. which is ok in pve, sucky in pvp and a small stun)

its pretty pathetic compared to both the damage out put and control of CWs and hunter rangers abilities.

To me, there should be some better type feats (HOW about you dump THE worthless feats you gave us in mod 6.. and give us some that actually give us some more control)

Gawd.. that troll pops up on every forum..

MOD 6 DC work was just terrible.

Are You being serious? On PvP DC has much more control than CW actually, by using ONLY BtS (Break the Spirit)... I've seen my friend doing 1v1 vs CW/GWF who are about 23/25k GS (now all mystics/legends),and she is a healing DC - she would stun them easily and eventually kill by using just the stun. They couldnt move at all, even for 2 seconds.

All you need to do is learn how to play your class... Sure on PvE DCs dont have any control,at all,but on PvP? Its sick.

and that CW had both shield on at r4 and negation right?

Pretty much anyone with a good build and maxed negation can stalemate someone else with the same setup atm. It's ridiculous. At the very least, you could just run away. Healing DCs, by the sheer virtue of being healing DCs, are downright overkill if you plant them in the middle of a group with negation enchants.
PvP is messed up atm, yes.

It would indeed have been nice if our new class features were control-related instead of leader-related. We already have enough class features focused on healing/mitigation/support/utility. I was honestly expecting something similar to the periodic AoE daze paladins got. AoE silence? That's a CLERIC signature ability in D&D.

Lore-wise a Geas is a very powerful work of magic. I see no reason why it shouldn't working on most bosses, though it would make sense if particularly powerful bosses (e.g. dragons and dragon goddesses) were resistant.
Exaggeration aside, Geas has some value in world PvE but it would be nice if this level 60+ power actually had some value in dungeon PvE too. And I don't understand why this skill can miss in PvP. It's essentially a curse, not a fireball/projectile attack. Seriously, the TR Shadow Strike still refills the user's stealth even if it misses. I could understand the CD nerf IF I didn't have to go through so much effort just to make sure this power actually lands in the first place.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

honestly.. I still think my dc was harder to kill in mod 1-2.. due to the limited burst nature of pvp back then.. I could sit in my shield and literally laugh at other classes in totality (tr/hr) back then.. only the effing gwfs could slaughter me with ease (this was before the deep gash nerf.) I can still remember the nightmare stream of reds..

I brought up negation , becuase that person clearly doesnt know what they were talking about, slamming 3 stuns out of BtS in pvp , will do nothing against most negation wearers.. and healy dcs do not have the burst or the control to bring down most other players.. the good news.. is that most other players cant bring down the dc either.. except when you are vastly outgeared or outnumbered.

I virtualy impossible duo is the DC/pally.. I was on one this morning in GG and we held whatever node we wanted to.. against 5-6 others the entire match.

    and Im not juggernaut.

I'm just pointing out that the way PvP is atm, I wouldn't be surprised if a newbie/un-researched player started shouting "WARLOCKS ARE OP!" just because he fought a Soulbinder stamina build with a broken gear/power setup. Or maybe he just fought a skilled PvP SW.
Massive influx of new/returning players + new (generally untested, yet to be tweaked) meta + imba/broken stuff + new fotm class.

It's hard to take anyone seriously in PvP these days.

If we have to pick a standard for balancing/arguing about the proper balancing of powers, we should just focus on PvE I guess. Which means Geas should work on most bosses.

Is it a 30 second cool down in PvP, or 30 immunity?
  • silverkeltsilverkelt Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 4,235 Arc User

it will not work on the player again for 30 seconds.

so its a immunity, not a cooldown, sorry if that was misleading, wasnt trying to make it so.

Nevertheless, its not a skill you can really equip at this point and use for pvp due to this immunity.

After today, it will just go the way of many other useless skills, sadly I have a point in it, as otherwise, I couldve upped something else to r4 instead.

Solo content. Like, solo daily lair bosses. The ones in well of the dragon definitely have to be stunned while you kill adds.

It takes longer for DCs to solo those lairs than to LFG and run thru to the boss and finish in a just few minutes. I know they say the zone content can be solo'd, but it is an MMO.
