I don't know what mod 6 was meant to bring but it really is a let down. I was expecting tr's to get that dps/piercing damage nerfed down, but noooo it's now better than ever, and you what's worst they now perma+dps
.
I remember when GWF was OP, we got nerfed within a week, but i guess the same rules don't apply for tr's..., I saw my friend do a 18k daze and then followed up by a 83k SE on a AC DC, i laughed but was also disappointed that TR's will once again rule pvp. TBH if i cant find a good pvp build for my gwf in 2weeks ill be playing pve through mod6-8, have fun dealing with tr guys
. :cool::p
Just post below what crazy damage u guys have seen from tr's so far.

"we are targeting a build with many additional fixes for release on 4/23."
I bet 200 pieces of GMOP there's still gonna be massive imbalance.
prepare to be disappointed? seriously its been 6 modules you think the game will miraculously get better?
step two wak
step 4 72k damage from lb by a tr that moves ridiculously fast
definitely an improvment I used to survive those when they only hit me for 38k on average
also lol still can't use my tab skill for some obscure reason
Wait until things settle down a bit and then we will see what is OP and not.
AHAHAHAHA nerfed within a week??
Waiting to see some more nonsense damage in PvP. Sigh...
You love a TR when it's on your side, but hate it when it kills you. That's all I ever read.
"Why is it dragons only use ketchup? I'd like a little wasabi please. Us silvers like a variety of condiments."
"Don't call them foolish mortals. One, they don't learn from it. Two, It just ticks them off." - An Ancient Red Dragon
no i pretty much hate it either way.
WTB Class Reroll please
regards
It is a extremely powerful pvp class with a huge responsibility in pvp. I am sure the blame is sometimes unwarranted, but I really feel like TR's in pvp should be held to an expectation equal to the relative power of the class.
You play the class, that match is mainly on you to win as long the rest of the party can at least figure out to stand on a contested/red node when they are getting killed. It is what I like about playing my TR.
What do you play? Viable classes should have no major problem with TR in pvp. I am talking about dc, cw, hr, and probably now op and gf also. All of them have effective cc, defense, dps and burst. If you go against one of these on a gwf or sw it is going to hurt alot.
I am one of the few Lucky classes, who doesnt get 1-shot from TR's atm due to shield(i still get 3 or 4 shot, but whatever...) but how can i go up against a class that i cant see?
What most people will tell you is that after awhile you get used to where the TR is in battle even though you can't see him. What I mean by that is that the class, depending on spec, has a few rotations and require specific positioning to really pull off well. Once you know his rotation you can usually figure out where he is. You CAN see the TR, even in stealth, if he is right in front of you/if your aiming cursor is on him. That means when you have to ask "where is the TR" the answer is usually "behind you".
On my CW, when I see the TR (mi exe for example) coming (and then he goes into stealth), I stand there like a dummy and when he is at my position I cast icy terrain, teleport away- facing him- and immediately cast entangle and then ray of frost and then he is normally dead. How do you know he is at your position? He goes into stealth so that he can hit you from stealth (big damage bonus for him) and your not supposed to know he is there. Stealth doesn't last forever so he will go right to you. So basically it is just timing. How fast can he get to you from where he was when he went into stealth?
Say you weren't watching him when he went into stealth. Again, imo, icy terrain is a safe bet. It freezes for a split second anyone in the aoe, and that can be just enough for you to dodge away- facing the threat- and entangle. In stealth a tr is squishy and vulnerable. Its the tr in itc you gotta watch out for imo. Other tips are if you know a tr is targeting a team mate, center aoe on the team mate or at least have your cursor right on him. If there are two of you on the node + the tr, and you both have your cursor on the other, one of you WILL nail the tr, then its gg for him, node cleared, he respawns. Never run away from a TR. A tactical retreat should be pressing s and looking "behind" you, which will make your toon walk backwards while facing the direction it is walking away from. IMO trs, especially nub trs, are most vulnerable at that point because they thing they are closing in for the kill.
Thats how I do, not the best to be sure, but it works for me. Any aoe cc can work, I just like icy terrain because it is a very fast cast with a short cool down and it does exactly what I want it to. The added chill makes stuff freeze immediately with ray of frost also. IMO that is all kinda op for the CW and not even taking into account disintegrate, storm spell so on.
imo slot storm spell, eye of storm, put shield on tab, slot a g.vorp or better, spec reneg and you'll be a god of destruction lol. Maybe it is just because I have been playing the class the most lately, but a well made CW is a real beast in pvp. The best of everything pretty much. All it needs is stealth. But to be honest, I would take almost any of the better class features or feats that cw has over stealth all day every day.
To be fair, my GF could hit 50k crit Anvils in Mod 5 under the right circumstances (Reckless Attacker up and target health below 40%) and that was without a Vorpal.
GFs have had the ability to hit you for massive numbers for a while now. If it was running Tenes in Mod 5 plus a Vorpal they'd blow your doors clean off. Top end DPS PVP GFs could kill you with 3 hits or so if you were not geared.
well, i experience worse. my gf hits like "gimme 30 grand (to buy this buy that)". and whenever i refuse i get a hit in the face..
I find your statement offensive, you do realize doing that will take away some feat trees for the tr involved?
↑ directly contradicts ↓
↑ blind hatred and demeaning conjecture thrown against TR players, of whom have been playing the class since day1 of this game, through the four consecutive nerf mods, through its darkest days, of whose only reason they play the class is because they like it.
...
As if you've got anything constructive to say, instead of brainless ideas obviously spun out of zero experience in what the class mechanics imply.
And then, try search a few discussions and see what answers and balancing suggestions WE'VE MADE OURSELVES to the devs, and then come back and try saying "brainless" one more time.
All the likes of you are doing is nothing but spreading about enmity and drawing out furious reactions from many TR players who are perfectly innocent of what has come to pass. You think we're the ones who went asking for stupid broken stuff like piercing damage, innate +50% critsev on LB, SE double-tap, Knife's Edge, and Sigil of the Divine + AP cloaks?
...not to mention the obvious stance of double-standard and hypocrisy the community shows when it comes to pointing out the problems of abnormal AP gain rates which make spamming dailies under 30sec intervals possible. Oh yes, it's TR dailies are the problem, so they should either gut it down to uselessness or make it unspammable for TRs only, while everyone else may throw around all the lame-HAMSTER balance busting a daily-spamming PvP match can offer.
The, "We want to nerf you, but we don't want any of our own stuff getting nerf" attitude the community shows is nigh insulting and repulsive.
The current status of PvP is a mix of many disturbing balance issues, which of many the TR is the source, no doubt, but by no means the exclusive. Come back and talk about balance when you folks are ready to throw your own blasted OP stuff on the table for an open discussion.
This. lol...well played sir, well played.
Glad you showed up. In the midst of what seems to be a universal buff (minus sw and gwf), the hate is strong against TR's.
