Why not just change it so that being stealthed and not in combat doesn't cause you to "control" or "block", so the opposing team still scores unless the rogue either comes out of stealth or engages in combat?
Until you're in group with two warlocks :P One of them might just be me if I feel crazy(read stupid) that day..
haha I HATE sw's on my tr when they kill me first. I do feel the average mi exec has a better chance in getting the kill vs any average sw. Stealth>lashing>smokebomb>duelests>itc>se>stealth ....against most sws it does not go beyond the first lashing, especially when sod kicks in. sws seem way more a threat when they catch you fighting one of their team mates and can lay down a nice dot.
there are a lot of ways to prevent an endless match or stealth
for the last 4mins everyone will losing -10% HP,
for the last 2mins all players start bleeding -2/5%HP ,till the match ends.
something like this maybe?
Playing my tr I much prefer itc to stealth as the high-aptitude player will nail you stealth or not. Stealth is incredibly useful in very careful tactical situations but not as a crutch or easy win button.
Back on topic of 3v3 arenas, I get the idea that TR is more viable than SW in pvp and that smaller groups will probably make it even worse, but that's related to game balance not 3v3 arenas itself

the problem is that devs do not know who to listen.
deathmatch is not a viable and fair pvp option.
a 3vs3 domination would be better.

Yeah, SWs can dish out some heavy damage IF they get the jump on you. Fantastic support class, especially if working with a CW or Tank that can keep the target occupied, but on their own they are in trouble.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.
Im pretty glad that they finally released more game modes to pvp. I think it needs to be heard because weve been asking for this for a long time

3 TRs vs 3 DCs. That would be fun to watch. Or not.
TR's will get HAMSTER....such a shame ((

Wouldn't this just lead three perms stealth tr sitting on nodes and nothing to any other class can really do about it? If the queue only allowed one of each class then yeah awesome.
It is about taking steps in those directions, not about complaining that it isn't perfect when they finally listen to the endless pleas for variety for ages. The fact that they are expanding on it and working to give us something knew is the right direction, even if it may not be where we want it yet. Personally, I think it will be a fun addition regardless. Also this is a discussion about a game mode, not balance like others have already stated.

I think this is an awesome MUCH needed step in the right direction - along with the GG change too.
Reflect on it for a second, we now have 3v3 5v5 and 10v10 PVP.
While the 3v3 needs to clear work, I almost bet it will be more popular than 5v5.
With the revisions to 10v10 I also think this is going to be VERY popular.
My ONLY qualm with all of this is its going to potentially divide the PVP community and POTENTIALLY lengthen Que timers. I know you can que for all 3 which will be great, HOWEVER. You cant Que for 3v3 while having a 5 man party qued for 5v5 and GG.
That said, after reflecting a SMART thing could be to have GG and 3v3 on a "rotation" trading off every other hour. Meaning 1 hr it would be GG/5v5 the next hour would be 5v5/3v3.
I just want to make sure que times dont suffer because of this.
You talking to me? Im not complaining... stating the FACT that this is a waste of time, so what they listen after Ages of people complaining about needing PvP variety, for ages? **** dude IWD wasnt THAT long ago... and what about all the other fixes to the game that have been talked about for ages?
We stillhave a useless and unreliable Queuing system!!
People have complained about this one since the beginning of this game.
There is such thing as too much optimism, cant have one without the other you know.
Also,
you cant discuss a game mode, which will cater to classes that are unbalanced and out performing others, without discussing balance..
Also the only thing I still really enjoyed was GG PvP, you know, when everyone in the group so happens to slam into each other and massive and EPIC FUN RVR commences! Now instead of 20 vs 20 they are going 10 vs 10.. well... II understand that various peopel have computer problems with this game, and 20 vs 20 maybe a bit much for some people, but the problem with the Laggyness isn't the Clients PC, its the fact that Cryptic developed they own poorly coded Engine that even Nvidia dropped.

I kinda agree, I prefer the old 20 vs 20, it might not be as tactical however with 40 people in one room brawling the hell outta each other, its mad fun!!!!
I hope we have an option to participate in gg 20 vs 20 or even 30vs30!!!!

and for while we wait in the queue, make a 1v1, 2v2 colosseum-like arena where we can all watch. Maybe in the new basement of the trade of blades. or like walking thru the upstairs of a racquetball court. sometimes it's fun watching the 1v1 matches that happen in iwd.

I remember playing a "rogue" in WoW. You had infinite stealth but at slower movement speed.
Well yes the rogue could go into stealth at any stage if his ability wasn't on CD but as soon as he attacked the rogue went visible. That is where the NW TR fails miserably in that he remains in stealth for the majority of the time, whether attacking or out of combat.
I love the fact that this 3v3 is a possible new mode of pvp. No-one wants to play the same mode time and time and time again. I don't agree that it should be limited to holy trinity. It's completely your choice if you want to enter as an all-dps team. with good communication you could easily focus the healer or tank and gain the upper hand.
Our pain is self chosen.

I dislike this. Probably the BEST thing would be to replace the "potions" that spawn in the normal locations with a "stealth sight" buff that appears.
This would reveal any stealthed character as if they were not stealthed. Something like that - this is what WoW did for arenas to address the same issue of a TR perma running around however in WoW TRs did not have increased movement in stealth but decreased movement.
Either way I think a "stealth Sight" buff instead of potions would work fine.
Yes agreed. After 2 minutes an orb would spawn on each side of the arena map where, once consumed, would show all stealthed players for about 10 seconds IIRC. Something similar would prevent TRs from gaining an even bigger upper hand in 3v3.

I have a feeling that if this 3v3 mode is passed it could become the one that the hardcore players will gravitate to and hopefully tied into the leaderboard while 5v5 and 10v10 will be for the casual players. That is what made WoW pvp is cool: arena and rated battlegrounds were for the hardcore pvp players while normal battlegrounds were for casual play. And it worked well. One did not simply stroll into RBGs or arena and pwn as a casual.

Lantern only reveals any stealthed TRs within a certain radius. The orb in WoW arena revealed any stealthed players anywhere on the map.
Its not even that big of a radius, I un-slotted mine along time ago and used it to feed another artifact.
Ive found slam on my GWF to work the best in revealing them, of course , then I cant kill them anymore, but hey, I Can see them killing me =P.

Also I agree that for 3v3 to work well the maps have to be reduced drastically. The current 2 domination maps are far too big for this mode of pvp. In fact there is no point in using these maps as contesting nodes is irrelevant. Perhaps they are just testing the water to gauge the initial reaction before adding gladiator/pitfight style maps with a couple of obstacles for LoS etc.

Bloood for thy olden gods and let mayham begin !!
Super excited about 3vs3 !!

I just wish this game could implement Castle Sieging in IWD, something similar to what kept Warhammer and DAOC so interesting.
you... you must be joking.
anyone taking guesses as to what class this guy is running?
