    THey took down live instead of preview. But I think they just realized their mistake because preview is now down as well.

    Had spent most of that DD time looking for a solid PK, one that wasn't bugged on entering... finally got in one, was past the 2nd boss, and blam... sigh

    For starters.. these games aren't a single server. It's a farm or servers. Login servers, comm servers, database servers, application servers, reporting servers, security/monitoring servers, backup servers, etc.... Even a cheapskate like Cyptic couldn't get by with a single server.

    There was no "wrong button accidentally pushed"

    At the first try I got the massage 'system administrator disabled all logins'. Next try just server not available. You should not kick your admins and let them work out their time.^^
    Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

    I was in the middle of switching toons on live and got kicked. I went over to preview, which worked but then wanted to check live and now I can't connect to preview either.

    Problem with that is that preview was up for a while after live was down. Something must have gone wrong with which servers they chose.

    got same error, first login said something like "all logins aborted by system" second was server unavailable at this time..

    I just came from preview server, got a "Server will be shutting down in 10 min for maintenance". So i think they hit both servers instead of just preview...

    The Preview server is down as well. So it's not a matter of the "wrong one" being taken down. Everything is down.

    OMGAH!!!!! worst timing ever...winning with 900 points in premade domination, then BAM DC and we all lose pages...have penalty :mad:! oh well first world problems I guess xD

    Yes, but preview was up as live went down.

    Uhrr... *normally* scheduled maintenance doesn't require taking down preview, and vice versa. They're independent of each other.

    Dealing with a larger unplanned outage, of course everything could go down at once (or sequentially).

    Nah in this day and age the inability to maintain 5 9's of uptime is a 3rd world problem. Most first world companies don't have these problems now days.
