How do you hide the admin messages? or change their color

The advertising spam they started this week maybe my tipping point. So any way to hide or made the message less visable?

Well, in my opinion, now that they are spamming us with sale notifications more often then goldspammers do in zone chat, they should enable us to hide them, as they are simply distracting and take up unnecessary space on the screen. I didn't mind the lockbox winner notifications, but the "Waukeen's Blessings: We have still way too expensive stuff in the Zen Store for 30% off, so go buy it!" every 15 minutes is beginning to get on my nerves...

I mean, really? If I'm in the middle of a boss battle, I really don't need that popping up in the middle of my screen for such a dumb reason. It's fine occasionally, but at least not so frequently, please...

Just be thankful there are no (in-game) billboards or mailbox spam ;-)

[or flying dragons towing advert banners]
[or sponsor's labels on free items]
[or adverts on the inside of chest lids]
[or .... <fill in the blank with the million other ways we are marketed to in RL>]

just kidding, of course -- this was inspired by a conversation with my son from this morning about how ridiculous all the sports advertising has become, with all the "this incredibly small and unimportant moment or item is sponsored by ... " promotions going on during the games (with today's event being the ultimate money maker).

So, yes, I'm thankful they haven't introduced more ways to "inform" us in Neverwinter.

yeah the message for the first time buyers back shouldn't show up for accounts that already have earned it

It really is quite annoying to have this pop up mid boss. Maybe disable it during queued events or during combat??

Yeah, I'm surprised at how often that message is popping up. I assumed it must be announcing an extra special sale rather than the usual weekly three item sale. Surely for maximum impact they need to change it to a message that pops up when you login or switch toons rather than when you might be in the middle of combat.

I get the whole advertising thing and I have nothing against a for-profit company trying to make a profit.

As a customer who spends lots of money on Neverwinter the Admin-Ads are somewhat annoying in my opinion. Just in the last 3 months I have dropped around $100 each month, do you really think I need to be notified about the 1st time buyers pack? Over and over?

Perhaps you could turn off the notifications for people who spend X dollars per month? You guys already got me, there is no need to annoy me. Thanks!

Most people would think that this channel is mean't to be for important system wide messages, which with me get lost in the high noise to valid message ratio. I just ignore anything in that color; if the servers coming down its coming down.

while they may have been present since beta, we haven't been getting spammed with "items are on sale" or "get the first time buyers pack (regardless of if you already have it or not)" style messages until recently. I was ok with the lockbox notifications but these new spamish buy our stuff messages are already old.

^ Yup, they've added new advert messages that are just on a timer rather than triggered by events. With the lockbox wins, you can at least think, "oh, how nice for [person]" but getting a commercial at 15-minute intervals or whatever it is... that's pretty tedious.

If you'd read the thread, you'd see that they are complaining about the massive increase in frequency they appear. If beckylunatic is right, they apparently appear every 15 minutes or so now, with absolutely no way to disable or hide them at all. A big giant thing that comment number 8 pretty much got spot-on correct in size.

I have yet to see it as I'm saving my NW experience for the XB1 version, but if becky is right and it truly is popping up every 15 minutes or so at that insane size with no way to disable/hide it, then yes, there is perfectly good reason to complain.

I am not sure about the exact interval, and it could be less. I was pulling the number from someone else's post on the subject.

That said, it's still pretty danged spamtastic.

We may see an option to handle these in the future. STO does have toggling options to choose how such messages are displayed, so perhaps one day we will have such here too.
