Feedback: Potions

mechomancermechomancer Member Posts: 182 Arc User
If I recall, it was stated that only one buff potion could be in use at a time.

I am able to buff Recovery potions along with other buff potions. Currently, this is the only one that can be used with other potions. I tried all other combinations, Power with Crit, Deflect with Power, Defense with Deflect, etc.... Recover is the only one that I can see that allows other buff potions to be used with it.

WAI?

For anyone that was curious about how individual potions were getting buffed, their effects are doubled, so a major potion is 400 points into a stat and double the duration as well.

Effects on healing and rejuvenation potions are currently unchanged.

I forgot to check if the use restrictions apply to black ice salves (they really should not since the function of this potion isn't a personal buff) and event foods (fair enough if they do). These have had no change in effect.

The patch wording also wasn't clear if potions of better than common quality would be affected. I think they should not be at least in the case of things like the dragon potions and scrolls.

Thank you for the clarification. I will see about testing event foods and dragon scrolls/potions. I'm in agreement that the event foods and other scrolls should be able to be used with a buff potion. I did notice in the Alchemy profession that the Major Flask of Power/Protection did NOT get their buff increased, but I did not try to use both at the same time (forgot to make one prior to porting over to preview). Since both potions affect 3 stats each, maybe don't increase them and allow both to be equipped at the same time? Idk, we are really going to have to be selective now on which potions we need in a given situation. I like it ;)

Event foods are in a separate category from the standard potion buffs.

Protection/Potency potions will be unchanged in magnitude as they still give more stat points than comparable potions. They do share the same category as standard buff potions so only one may be in effect.

It slipped my mind that event foods were already limited to one at a time. One standard potion and one food seems very reasonable.

I suspect the value of potency and protection potions might go up a fair bit. (But I could be wrong!)

Will elixirs be affected as well? I hope so.... Right now you can have an Elixir for nearly everything. I hope these also count towards standard potions since currently I can still stack them on the PTR.

Any chance of a new build coming to PTR tomorrow? Would love to see the changes to artifact weapons.

Right now there is an issue where the elixirs show on your potion bar, but only the latest consumed one will actually take effect (and taking a major potion of force or other type will also remove the buff from an elixir, but not remove the icon).
the elixir of fate and the potion of heroism both still stack with other potions though

We need a complete list of all categories and their assigned potions to properly test. This is way too shady right now.

    Thanks

The altar kind? It stacks. It's not even a potion.

    Re: potion categories
Black ice salve can be used with other potions. Both dragon potion and scroll can be used in conjunction with one regular potion and one food buff. That was all the stuff I had on me to try out.
