Vorpal is the lazy-enchant tbh. People think it is the best because they all are using the same builds and cannot think of creating a build with other enchantments, on their own. Vorpal is great, no doubt but in pvp it deals low damage, because tenacity got buffed. Idk if +25% damage on an occasional hit is better than, a guaranteed damage increase on every hit.

Plaguefire i.e. has THREE effects, the +9% weapon damage on all attacks, the applying DoT damage plus -15% defense wich stacks 3x, 15x3=45%. Or a Bronzewood, which adds a flat amount of direct damage (16%), even though the tooltip may be misleading. The Feytouched enchantment is not too shabby, regardless of what people may try to tell you (i am refering to perfect enchantments, idk the lesser/greater values). Brilliant energy does not sound too good, though since it is only based on weapon damage. So you might wanna re-think to purchase said enchant and stick with something else.

    Take care.

I don't have personal experience with Bronzewood, though maybe I should start making one to experiment. So this is mostly going to go for other enchants.

First of all PF is a great enchant the debuff helps the entire party and that's a great thing. However in terms of damage it falls victim to the same problem as most of the other enchants in that it does a % of weapon damage. The problem with this is that vorpal does boost to total damage on criticals. Since our gs and thus power has gotten so high, it means that we are doing significantly more damage now than what we can get from a % of weapon damage. This is a big part of the reason why enchants like lightning are falling into decline more and more lately. If the enchants were changed to do just a % of damage instead of weapon damage (would need some balancing on the numbers) more enchants would be viable than just the pf and vorpal that is typical now.

I agree. Be careful though, with the Bronzewood. The internal cooldown is terrible. I got rid of mine, luckily.

I'd play with it on preview as to avoid spending real ad on live. Preview is great for testing things to see how they work for you.

Those go in overload slots only in things like the head and arms pieces of say the purified black ice armors.

    Brilliant Energy
You have a 30% chance to deal 12.5% of weapon damage as Radiant damage with every strike. This damage ignores half of your target's Damage Resistances.

    Attention here:
This damage ignores half of your target's Damage Resistances.

Your full damage that ignores 50% of the resistance or is it just oas 12.5% who ignore????

The tooltip answers your question. The 12.5% ignores 50% defense.

The bigger issue after reading this thread is why does someone's sw have 16 Con? First priority for this person is to raise that number to over 20. Second highest number should be Cha, also over 20.

As far as enchants go, having played a lot of gwf and sw toons, if you play your class well, enchants don't really matter that much. When I had a normal lightning on my sw, i wasn't seeing significant increases to paingiver damage by switching to a greater vorpal. I have 40% crit chance. For an sw, how you manage creeping death is going to do a lot more for you than any enchant.

That being said, the reason I like vorpal, is because it has the CHANCE to make greatest use of creeping death. However, it is not going to be a gigantic difference no matter what you do.

Another reason I enjoy using vorpal over some others is that I often do dungeons with someone who already uses a terror. Also, unless you have the perfect version of terror or plague fire (greater verson for PF) you run the risk of having your debuff not matter. Since I also do a lot of lfg and pugging for my dungeons, vorpal is better, since it will always be at full effect regardless of what other people are using.

The simple answer to the original question, however, is that vorpal is better than the BEE one, since BEE has only a chance to have it proc damage on your weapon damage, which for an sw isn't really that much damage. Vorpal is extra full crit damage, which potentially yields big numbers times two with creeping death on your necrotic skills. And if your crit chance is low on an sw, you should rethink that choice for better results.

The tooltip answers your question. The 12.5% ignores 50% defense.

The radiant damage enchantment ranges from 86 ~ 101 (In my case and does not come frequently, it seems to work with some DoTs.

As it only reduces the resistance to for 12.5% and not for the full damage, I'm thinking that the spell is weak!

Brilliant Energy Enchants cost 0 AD. Ignoring the Hero Pack's RL cost, it's excellent. Depending on build, it's about as effective as most lesser weapon enchants.

It's not endgame gear by any means, but IS a nice power multiplier for new 60s or leveling toons. It gives you extra oomph until you can afford/invoke 3 coal wards for a normal+ enchant. Basically, it's a freebie and means you'll never muck around with lesser weapon enchants. It's perfect for what it is.

Critical work in DoT? (IF yes then Vorpal = Best Enchant)
