PvP in this game is pretty imbalanced right now. i am only a 15k TR but frequently noticed i am matched with 20-25k gs peeps and even a few 7-9k gs peeps as well. this makes no sense whatsoever. how am i supposed to compete with these ppl who are max geared and probbaly played 10x as long as i have and even worse for newer peeps who join domination at lvl 60? its terrible! or even owning these "seemingly" new ppl with like 10k gs? just seems imbalanced and unfair for everyone and even those max geared ppl on ur team suffer if ur team has a mismatched gs like a fresh 7k who will drag a team down against a team with more max geared ppl. ppl are constantly complaining about this...
pvp right now is pay 2 win, pve u can do any content pretty much with like 14k gs, because you can buy the best weapon enchants and legendary artifacts with real money and steam roll ppl who aren't as well geared as the max geared ppl. there is just no way you can win or compete unless you have max geared ppl on your team as well or you yourself are one of those max geared folk.
a match making system of some kind is long overdue for pvp domination cuz how is it a fair fight if u kill some1 that is like 10k gs lower than you or u get killed by someone with much better gear and higher gs than yourself? this leads to many matches where you have to sit by the campfire and wait till the match is over or even worse ppl get mad and kick everyone on the team after doing bad lol.
ppl say "there arent enough ppl in the game for a match making system to work" or "they'll never balance pvp", well thats just an excuse. pvp is a HUGE part of MMOS and all games pretty much, it would be a mistake to neglect pvpers in general and just let things go on as they are right now which is pretty bad lol.
i think what may work, due to "supposedly" lower playerbase is to make an ELO system like dota 2 or lol, the more you pvp, the higher elo u have, the harder opponents you face, leading to correctly matched pvp domination matches, more difficult matches, and more fun overall due to the challenge this creates. PPl new to the game or ppl who quit pvp altogether can work at the lower lvl or elo and get better, matched against other "noobs" as well. Leaving things in the state they are in right now would be an outrageous mistake :mad:.

No, it doesn't make sense, it's a terribly unequal matchup. An even slightly competent 15k TR can slaughter 22k opponents right now.
You are in the tier between hardcore pvp player and normal pvp player. Because you are the top guy in normal pvp player, if you win against others with similar gs, you will be matched against those 20k+. Vice versa, if you lost a match against those 20k+ guys, you will be matched with those ok to decent pvp players (eg ppl like you). The chain will keep repeat until you can win those 20k+ guys or start to lose 10k+ guys. You are in between leaderboard page 50-150 right?? Dont ask me why i know you in this gap, cuz i have the same feeling with you. Win lose win lose... I also dont like this type of "stomp, stomped, stomp, stomped" outcomes.

i am on page 29 last i checked and that is unacceptable imo, even in runescape a lvl 126 cant attack a level 99, that would be unfair unless u went into the deep wilderness and risked it lol
This is just ranting, and there are many who suggested to change the way rankings work and the suggestions were better developed, so i suggest read trough some post before ranting next time. On the other hand the suggestions were ignored so it doesnt matter anyway.
It just needs to be matched by gs that would even it up and make for more fun and even matches for all. I for one would like to see first balance by Gear score and a few more different types of maps maybe both teams could fight for control of a bridge or small town or you have to protect a cart from the other team who have to destroy it and you. Lets not forget a nice prize for the winners and booting for afkers/fire sitters and bots, then perhaps people like me who gave pvp up because of the massive unbalance would go back and bolster numbers so gear score matchmaking would work and q time would be smaller due to more would want to play.

even WoW has pvp, pretty much any good mmo will have a pvp aspect to the game, how else can NW compete? plus PvP is SO FUN with the combat system in this game lol

its not the fact that youre 15k. its the fact that youre 15k "TR". with the way rogues are now, they are completely out of hand. piercing damage (ignores all defenses including tenacity) + 100% crit in stealth + the ability to stay in stealth permanently + abilities that restore stealth to full meter + 100% chance to keep your target stun locked = enough said. with how trs are now, pvp is completely broken. by the time you are able to get out of his smoke bomb you have already taken 80-90% in damage and are still stunned and unable to use any escape abilities to get away. one more attack and youre dead or they throw cloud of steal at you...roll..then more cloud of steal and youre dead. or using shocking execution from stealth makes them one shot you. and throw a dc in there with astral shield and you take absolutely no damage. so what you say is invalid at all points. youre a tr. with you in any group nothing will ever be balanced.

i play all the classes except GF. gwf have been toned down. they can still be a nuisance but can actually be killed now. cws are op right now. especially as oppressor for pvp. they can keep you cc locked and you not able to do anything. dcs can make their party 100% immune to damage just with one ability (astral shield). read what i said above for trs. HR are becoming more annoying but are still soft in defenses. SWs...well lets just say they are balanced right now

i would say you are right but now there is no pvp, there is no pve. There is nothing and i dont see any desire to further invest in the project. I think is now clear that the first 3-4 modules were a beta for the console version which is going to fail for bad passing of words.
let's wait for mod 6 but i m sure we will be disappointed once again.

Why even call it pvp. Just call it PKing.
10-13ks getting murdered by 22-25k with zero chance aside from some broken TRs. It's only gotten worst over time.
What the PvP needs is a very simple matchmaking function taking in account the GS of every player and the total GS of the match in order to balance the teams.
Once you have done that we can start talk ELO.
It is not rocket science.
We have 10 Players everyone with different GS: {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10} - where 1 is the highest GS and 10 the lowest GS
The Total Gear Score has to be separated between Team A and Team B
player 1 ---> A = {1}
player 2 ---> B = {2}
player 3 ---> B = {2,3}
if A>B player 4 ---> B = {2,3,4} ; A = {1}
if B>A player 4 ---> A = {1,4} ; B = {2,3}
and keep going until the last player.
This way of balancing the teams being very simple it is definitely not the best way to do it but I reckon it is still better than what I keep seeing in my PvP domination matches where teams of 20ks plays against teams of 12ks.
I think the same method could work for pre-mades of 2/3 players. Not of course for bigger ones.
Than after that you do ELOs and count the right amount of points you will win or lose in your leader-board.
Another interesting option to be considered will be to limit at 1 the amount of player per class per team. But that's another story...

firstly im not trying to make this a nerf tr thread. he wants matchmaking balance but you cant have matchmaking balance when one class can tip the scale over and over and over again without even having to try. secondly pvp shouldnt be how much money you can dish out. it should be about skill. after playing wow for 7 years straight ive seen the ups and downs about that game. and never once did pvp become how much money you can spend to own the other person. you had to earn those kill and your armor. but with NW its all about whose wallet is bigger and thats honestly not okay.

Not really they have database of your best gs you ever had and that is how they will treat you, which will not allow cheating.
