No gear should never be directly for sale. The idea of it is sickening.

At one point there was a black ice package that could be purchased. You got the option of picking one piece of black ice gear. I would like to see this brought back. I have farmed for the gloves since release of mod 4 and still have had zero luck getting them. I get 5-10 great successes everyday. Mostly solo and still haven't gotten them. I would like the option like others had to purchase the package that allowed you to pick them

The fact that it isn't there is a good thing. I don't know if I could stomach playing the game if it was still there. Gear directly in the cash shop is a game killing move for me.

The problem is the drop rate. We don't want to encourage them to charge for it when the game design is at fault. It sets a bad example of where the game is to be headed and how other games follow.

Imo RP has a much more detrimental effect.

I mean it's easier at this point to get BI drops. You won't have to worry about 40+ paople mobbing the HEs anymore.

Very arguable. The only reason why it isn't worse in my book is that with the zen exchange where it is, you can still buy rp cheaper per rp/ad on the ah. Now the downside of that is it's likely botted in most cases. So you could probably convince me and make me quit over it if you argued hard enough to be honest.

Tbh the fact that they're available for AD cheaper doesn't bear much relevance to me just because of the zen exchange. It's the mechanics of the ability to buy it out one way or another while the player non botting way to obtain it, even over time is highly impracticable. The ability to buy so much power is something I don't really like, especially with how much it costs. It is sort of a double edged sword though as the alternative is to bind them, which I highly disagree with, or to remove the exchange which is obviously a great way to obtain zen items without having to resort to spend real money on every item you want there. Or of course there would have been the better alternative of a better alternative ranking system like xp and selling xp boosts or whatever.

Selling gear (armor sets, weapons, jewelry) in the cash shop is a truly terrible idea. This is a gamebreaking way of monetizing a F2P game. What should happen is that the drop rate gets adjusted so that the gloves become realistically available in game. I've run countless IWD HEs since Mod 3 dropped, and I have yet to see the gloves. This is not a realistic drop rate. That said, no way would I consider buying the gloves with real money. Kessel's sigils, or black ice, sure. Real money? No way.

Even with a small sample size the fact that there are so many yeses scares the HAMSTER out of me for humanity.

Its cause the RNG is just so bad. Im quite against the idea on principle. But its completely reasonable and logical why some would vote yes.

No way. Equipment in the cash shop? No one would even bother arguing with people shouting P2W anymore. At least as it stands right now, that debate has some wiggle room.

What else would you like to see in the cash shop? Weapons of Castle Never that come with greater plaguefire and/or terror enchants? Maybe all the T2 and 2.5 sets with built in dragon hoard enchants and a perfect soulforged?

People are frustrated and they're resorting to even wanting to pay just to get it =/

It makes for an easy way to exploit peoples weaknesses (no offence to anyone)

It fits the monetization strategy of this game. Gate stuff behind ridiculous RNG and then let people pay to accelerate. It's really nothing else than buying RPs, event items with ca$h.
We are long beyond only paying for cosmetic and QoL improvements with ZEN, it's obvious. M5 is the first module where you can buy all the way up to BiS. You can't buy gear directly, but you can buy Linu's and all the other campaign currency, which directly translates to the gear.

So? I suppose this is the new norm for any module going forward so why not adjust older mods as well and make the gear buyable? Even outside time-limited events like we've already seen.

Since i had the bugged loot problem a while back i gave up on the gloves, so if they came back for "tokens" as such then i would most likely farm up or already have required exchange value

Not been to IWD in maybe two months outside a little bit of open world, but shouldn't it be harder now to acquire the gear because the area is abandoned and few people are doing/announcing the HEs?
Surprisingly the HEs that drop the gear can't be solo'd mostly, so you need to gather a team, search and kill. I actually imagine it being quite a hassle compared to the instance hopping and zerging of earlier days.

If I recall that correctly, the Epic HEs also had some sort of easy-to-reach threshold for the Great Success, so going with a lot of people has not meant missing out on the best chance to BI gear.

I'd say RoT is an improvement in that regard. Instead of having to rely on rare drops, there's a pretty decent chance of getting it from the chest, it's bop (and since a lot of them are rubbish are actually cheaper than the cost of a key) and the rest of the sets, if you don't get them from t2 reward, you're not gated by randomness and can buy them from farming. I'd say your efficient bet is to get them from t2 rewards for the 2 pieces than don't drop and get the boots from the store. I mean if you want to buy them out, it will cost a LOT. Currently 89k for only 1 favor.

I'd say the biggest flaw is that I had to use it as a transmute for my hv set to get any use from it (which may I add looks freaking awesome with my dyes even if previously being uninterested in fashion, partially due to cost).

Soloed no. But I've duoed them with a complete random. They're not that hard at this point.

M3 was a complete disaster. Complete. The bgs PVP improvements were spit out the the community, the leaderboard is corrupt and useless and Open World abandoned. the PVE capstone Skirmish was too easy and boring and the HEs led the way to a whole new level of grinding, which was loved by absolutely nobody.

The area has to be redone. It needs a token system to get BI gear, it's obvious. In the end they listened after months and implemented a token system for Mod 5 after horrible feedback in 3/4 about drop rates (maybe that was the plan anyway, but who cares, it's better that way). They have done baby steps into the right direction. I think Elk Tribe and Hammerstone gear was made BoE from BoP and Scrimshaw tokens BoA from BoP, but it's not quite enough.

What I personally hope is that with Mod 6 they'll try to somehow repopulate the Open World areas and IWD in general. It was such a major addition that they might not be able to let it rot like that and try to lure the PVP community back into the place. With that, we might see changes to BI gear, maybe a new tier of BI gear, who knows. I'm pulling this one out of thin air to be honest, but it would make sense.
On the other hand: We've not seen them going back to an old module and overhaul it, so yeah. Probably not happening.

You duoed the Black Ice Beholder with a char that actually could use Black Ice gear? Or is the weapon also dropping somewhere else? You can also absolutely not duo Remorhaz I would suspect. But again: Not been there for a long time, that's me remembering the HEs in M2 gear.

I think the Prospector Attack is possible, only those mages are really hard.

I did Prospector that way. Now the thing is you don't need any of those to get it (though the drop rate is a little higher) you can get it from any 180 bi reward.

Ah ok so yeah these Major HEs are very much doable with two I agree.

But even though the BI gear is still acquire-able: M5 gear is buyable, why not take the system all the way back to M3?

If you want them added for black ice as the currency I can support that. I can not support selling them for zen. That's an absolute line in the sand.

Well my point is: It's already happening. You can buy everything M5 related with ADs. So if you could buy BI gear with ZEN and ZEN with ADs, what's the difference?

It's very very fine, and something that constantly brings me close to quiting the game. It's also why I advocate all epic and above items being BTC from gear to enchants.

Why not just make it easier to obtain by playing the game? Directly selling gear via zen store is a pure pay to you know what.

I doubt that there is a single player that would argue against that for the BI drops.

And the fact that people already ask about it being put back again is a sign that drop rate might be a tad too low.

I mean, you don't need to put any effort to get gloves/artifact weapon, but you need to be extremely lucky TWICE for the gloves(once for proper heroic, then for lucky drop).

They really should up the drop rate, I'm struggling for 4 months to get them now.

Another thing I've mentioned and would make sense: Time and sync the HEs like WoD so players have an easier time tackling specific encounters.

This would be the best answer. Black Ice Beholder spawns in DV every hour on the 0:30. Remorhaz spawns every hour on the hour in IWP.

And make Black Ice Domination spawn in DV every hour at 0:45 and in IWP at 0:15.

That way you get a lot of action happening back in IWD, giving people a reason to populate those zones again. Even more so if you make the gloves BoE :)
