Mods 1-4 people slaved to get their T1, T2's and artifact equipment (terrible drop rates and horrendous amounts of AD)... now, new players come in and basically get artifact belts handed to them and all the T2 they can get simply by being carried by higher GS players in a raid that requires DPS because of a timer.
No, but you're right... after spending millions of AD on gearing up over 4 mods... I should help you gear up for free... :P.
That's the other side of the argument.

What is the Min GS most would propose?
In another spot I proposed a 2 tier system like they have for SoT
What is with all of the gear score snobbery for Tiamat? Can't people learn to work with what some people have and not just label them useless because of gear score rating? Before you ask no, I haven't done it yet and I don't feel much like attempting it given the attitude people seem to be taking.
The problem is that part of the Tiamat fight is a dps race. If the groups dps isn't high enough there is no way to win as there is a time limit. My opinion is that below about 13k (the gs required to run eLoL) you don't put out enough dps to pull your fair share. Because of this if there are too many people below that line it will be a failed run every time. Every failure I've had but one has been because of not enough dps being in the raid.

My main toon is a non-DPS DC. DCs are ALWAYS wanted. More so once devs fix Tiamat's horrendous lag/graphics issues.
As for minimum GS? 16k
16k is easy to achieve, and gives a sense of progression to campaigns. Logically you should defeat easier opponents (Malabog/Valindra/Kessel/Losmouth) before tackling a goddess. ATM, any fresh lvl 60 can challenge Tiamat.
Okay, so you are blaming price drops on new players? Also, if DPS is such a must then what about non DPS builds like some clerics? I guess I should just respec and rebuild entirely if I ever want to do Tiamat. Also, it's a game and if earning gear in a game means you want a badge of honor then you should honestly find something else to do in your life.
No one blamed the new players but then again u can not expect gamers that work hard for what they own to actually not have some minimum requirements, right ?
Also no one said all the healers should change their builds. It is just a matter of how you understand and know how to help out in any given situation you might undergo during the fight, which also has nothing to do with badge of honors or anything that someone should or not do in their life.
I would suggest you calm down before you start attacking people. You asked and someone gave you reasoning about the fact that you - as many others - faced some sort of "attitude" when is comes to players that have some higher standards. I assure you there is nothing wrong with that because in any case no one ever kicked anyone from any Tiamat instance (since it is impossible ).
So no matter what is said in the zone chat lower geared people can still go in and work in a team properly in a way that they can actually get it done.
All in all its a free world and you can not (or should not) judge anyone for his opinion or his requirements.
I don't suffer from insanity ! ..I enjoy every minute of it ![SIGPIC][/SIGPIc]
Just whining because even high GS folks can't solo the whole encounter. It's a tough fight no matter who's in it, which is exactly what some folks asked for. Now they want it nerfed because they're frustrated it's not as easy for them as every other dungeon and encounter. If you don't like to pug, don't do it.
GS minimum of 14 k would be sufficient and logical. Also it is easy enought to achieve for newcomers. Basically with the current prices of gear you should be able to get to a 14k gs straight after you hit lvl 60 without spending any real life moneys on the game.

Unfortunately, many people in the game do not understand GS. GS is meaningless as it does not tell you how the stats were distributed. It is the same issue in pvp where a lot of people complain that a 24k player got killed by a 15k player without looking at stats distribution.
The biggest issue with Tiamat is coordination/skill rather than gear score. Slowly the zerg strategy has been implemented as the general strategy one should use in Tiamat. However, there are some instances that attempt to use the strategy but do not implement it correctly which then they blame the zerg as an inferior strategy to the 5 to 1 strategy, or worse, blame low GS players.
Because of the current culture of self-dps rather than group dps, players want high GS because they hope the high GS will overcome their ineptitude of group play. Although it is not entirely their fault as all dungeons in this game does not need/require understanding of group play and buff/debuff mechanics to improve performance. Everyone is focus on sheer brute force tactics (via over gearing for the dungeon).
So I will say to you as I said above, what about non DPS clerics? You know, we shouldn't feel like we are not wanted and can not do part of the game because of our build.
Clerics contribute to team DPS through buffing/debuffing. GF's also provide excellent team buffs and can do a great job of protecting clerics by drawing adds away. No one is saying non-DPS classes are not welcome.
What you see as "snobbery" other people see as common sense. I have a 21k CW whom I nuke Tiamat with on a regular basis. I also have a 13k TR whom I have yet to take in to fight Tiamat because I KNOW that he can't carry his own weight yet. I'd be contributing to group failure not group success with him and I don't walk him in there with the expectation that everyone else should have to pick up my slack. There is some backlash because some folks do have an attitude of "ok, I showed up...now everyone else do the heavy lifting because I can't." It's more than a little obnoxious to see people in the "say" channel screaming out orders and then cursing out the group after a failed run when the person doing the screaming and cursing is a 12k GWF who finished 22nd.
When I'm on my CW I don't leave instances and I don't demean others who have low GS. But I also know that if there are several 10k folks running around then odds of failure go up significantly.
In the Tiamat fight you get three (sometimes four) two-minute windows to inflict around 16.4 million damage on five different heads (total of 82 million). If your group of 25 can't dish out significantly more than 13 million damage per minute the run will fail. It's that simple.

That really depends on the class, though. More often than not, I'm the only DC in there running High Prophet. It means my GS will be lower, considering it's a T1 set, but the benefit to everyone in the OMGZERG is tremendous.
The gear score snobbery becomes even more amusing when there's not a single CW in High Vizier, but they're all in Corrupted or some weird combination of equipment for that little bit of extra GS.
However, I do agree with Abaddon. Wait until you can carry your own weight before going in. That's just courteous, but doesn't necessarily have a GS number attached to it.

Of course, the above are just examples of two classes. Other classes will easily run higher GS, considering they have GS boosting feats too. But you can't differentiate between classes in a GS requirement for queueing, so I'm actually fine with the way it is now. Not many fails, and the GS snobs are prime targets for some high level mockery.

We have looked into reports of players experiencing connection problems and have been unable to identify any server, data center, or client-side issues. We believe this may be ISP related.

GS in and of itself isn't alpha and omega, but it IS an indicator of skill. Presumably someone with 17k GS has spent time and effort to really LEARN their class. Lower GS characters have no such implicit guarantee. 12k can either be a highly skilled alternate character or a brand new lvl 60.
GS is important. It's an extremely inaccurate skill barometer, but the best we have.
Can something be done about people entering then just standing round the fire?
...............vote for your favourite expansion.......... "Mod 6. Oh my f****** god. It gutted the game pure and simple. And what wasn't gutted was messed up by the poorly thought out new level cap and equip. The game never recovered from that atrocity". ..............not this one then.............

Yes the GS is very easy to have now since it is that easy gearing up! Which says what exactly for the people that don't have it? ..Nuff said.

Also builds are so different. My toon is a 18,9 k gs GWF but I am sure that there are 15k GWF s who do the same or better DPS than me as my toon really is more about surviving whilst doing steady damage then bursting lots of damage and then dying proudly as a glass cannon.
Can something be done about people entering then just standing round the fire?
Yes and no, if there aren't enough high dps players to carry the low dps players, low dps players = afk players because they both made the group a failure.

Geezus, finally some common sense. Of course, people will counter this simple math by saying that a low GS raid will be able to dish out this amount of dps in that time period through sheer coordination...
LOL! Worked hard for my...(insert whatever here) This is the standard party answer to any question about GS on these forums. Ignore these OP.
OP, just do it. Its a mess of a Zergfest anyway. At least until they allow us to Guild Q, or Q with friends, it will remain a Zergfest. Now they've disabled instance switching, so once your in, you either go for it, or go out the front door.

Non DPS DCs perform extremely well in Tiamat.

Blaming low team-DPS on the lowest Gear Score is like blaming a basketball team's loss on the shortest player's height.
This is a problem...
