You used to get it from the final quest in the Illithid Enclave in the Whispering caverns , I think it was the final quest of vanilla neverwinter ( not 100% on that though)

I am not sure I can even get in there anymore. Is it locked out once you have levelled to 60, even if you have not done any of that quest line?

Only one character got it. I think he was the only one who did ALL the main quest, in order. Character 13, my DO Battle Berserker War Priest.

I'll try it with one of my other level 60s when I have time and report back.

Can it be done solo with 10 to 13k GS?

    Cheers!

    Depends on class.

A CW, HR or SW should have no issue even with just the quest-line items. It is a bit more tricky with a GWF or GF, but should be okay. A DC might have a well, interesting time, and depending on gear/skill joining a group may well be the best option.

    EDIT:

Make sure the toon you try this on is one where you don't mind missing out on your chance of the cloak forever. Because while they just possibly might bring this back for the end chest, the chances of them retrospectively adding it for toons that have already completed the single-player camping is much, much smaller....

No, you can't even outlevel the quest markers in this zone. And it's all meant to be soloable from how we were at launch, not how we are now.

Funnily enough, my DO was the only one who has done it. But I can't remember if it was solo or with a party. If it is normally a Party Dungeon, I'd have been with others. But he is built for solo play and dps, so he may have been alone. My AC Radiant Healer might have more trouble...

I am really surprised how good my Halfling Combat/Pathfinder is in PvP, even at 10k GS - considering I have no clue what I am doing. I keep mashing the wrong buttons, flying backwards when I mean to rush forward, get into Archery mode when I think I am in Melee mode and generally getting my fingers tied in knots. But she should be able to do Whispering Caverns. When I get it right, and use arrows to soften them up, THEN rush in, I have killed characters with much better gear than me. Even an SW one time! But not a CW yet, I don't think...

I'll have to think about who I should take over there... maybe my AC? She has 15k GS and is saving to upgrade Grim Faithful to Profound Faithful, She has a Pocket Pet, so I don't think she'll actually need the Cloak. I don't think it actually makes you invisible in PvP anyway, but it's a nice part of the game to have one. But no disaster if she doesn't.

They should have improved versions as well:

    Cloak of Lesser Etherealness
    Cloak of Etherealness
    Cloak of Greater Etherealness

    ;)

Maybe they took them out to stop people walking through dungeons in Stealth and never fighting anything?

Or it may be a bug.

But the fact that they NEVER seem to tell us what their intentions are can be quite distressing.

Maybe they do not want to commit themselves either way? If it is deliberate, why not tell us and put us out of our misery?

If it is a bug, maybe they will fix when they can? After all, the illusory wall in Cloak Tower that never melted only took a year or so to fix.

    Might take a while...

    ;)

The thing makes you mostly invisible (to AI) for half a minute and it goes on cooldown for half an hour. You use it from inventory, not a quick slot. I'm not sure if it was possible to code a hotkey command to activate it. I suppose you probably could since you can do it for a pocket pet or potion. I'm not so adept as that.

It really was a primarily for-fun item that some people considered totally useless and not worth the bag space to keep and others felt was pretty cool. Very limited use due to the long cooldown and awkward activation. You could use it to slip past a group of mobs, but not through an entire dungeon.

I guarantee that the removal does not really qualify as a bug, since all the gear rewards for the entire game were redone. Like I've said before, it's more of a matter of can we convince them that it should be brought back as a much cooler and more unique incentive for finishing that final "levelling zone" (that you invariably hit 60 before getting to) than a green level 60 weapon that is useless for anything but fodder, because the crummiest blue weapon you could pick up randomly would still be an improvement.

Yes, a deliberate change, inasmuch as all the quest rewards were deliberately changed. But possibly one that could be reconsidered in this specific case.

I see it as being pretty hard to convince someone of something when they are avoiding the topic entirely.

Missed this initially, but you can actually run these lairs again via quest-sharing and get the chest loot again (don't have to go in a party, just get someone to share the quest so it's in your journal). Only the few truly exploitable quests were tweaked to prevent repeat looting, and that was generally by moving the loot to the NPC turn-in.

This is very handy for people who realize they scrapped something they'd like to use for a transmute skin.

"beckylunatic" Gateway AH should have column headers to sort by buyout, bid, end time, quantity, etc. These disappeared iirc with the module launch. It's obnoxious.

You might be better off asking dwightmc if he can find out why it was removed on Thursday when he posts the patch notes , ask in the patch notes thread itself , he usually hangs around the thread for 10-20 minutes after his first post then he updates the maintenance progress every half hour to hour or so.
