I like the -10% defense, but the - crit severity %, - crit chace %, - control resistance % are just useless for PvE. The - damage % is okayish, but i don't think anything other than a GF/DC would wear a set with -10% damage, -10% defense and even they have better alternatives.

Did you guys ever think that it might be a set meant to give PVE players a chance in PVP without having to farm glory? Maybe...

The 4 set for GWF looks like it would rival Avatar of War in terms of damage dealt to enemies. I don't really like the stat distribution on it though.
The other sets are pretty much meh for PvE and I think people will continue using T2 or Profound sets.
Once again, it seems they've moved away from an even distribution of all stats on all pieces to select bursts of stats in some of the pieces. Makes it difficult to 2/2 gear. What was wrong with the layout of T1, T2, and T2.5 gear?
AoW seems to be still the only good option for PvE, but mixing templar helm+armor with draconic boots and gloves might be closest thing to useful, and theres no crit there, seems like they are trying to phase out the OP sets of t2,

Do the auras stack? The HR looks interesting for a Trapper and even for combat in PVE if mobs are going to hit even harder in new dungeons/skirmishes.
Le-Shan: HR level 80 (main)
Born of Black Wind: SW Level 80
I'm getting more and more irritated by the stat distribution. Makes it very hard to min/max anything. At least the new sets are clearly T3 and offer way more stats (>1k) than any existing sets. Hopefully the 2/4 bonuses get an update, because it's still hard to replace HV for pure DPS-CWs in example. The new Draconic gear has less power and no debuff...
Because of the new content you are already tempted to get a second hybrid survival/DPS 2/2 gear (10k+ power no debuff, more defensive stats), but nothing beats HV DPS wise still.
What I absolutely dislike: This will probably mark the early exit of BlackIce gear for PVE at least, which is way too early considering the pain we've gone through to aquire. Just adds to how poorly designed M3 was...
Smells like placeholder on some of those to me. Why would they have 3 classes with the same set bonus combination and 4 classes with unique combinations of debuffs?

Even if... the OPness of some T2 or even T1 (HP) sets is still lurking. Five modules later there is no replacement in sight. That's utterly ridiculous.
Nice overview. Thx! Effectively they are adding more defensive stats while being far away from replacing the original and OP T2 set bonuses. In case of AoW you plain and simple have to overcome +1300 power and recovery and in most cases also the +450 2-set bonus because the new ones suck (+150 AP gain, oh yeah!).
If they wanted to nerf the old sets, they would have done it by now (see KC, see Stalwart) so the route they are going is to slowly increase the difficulty of the content up to a point where you can't get away with using AoW/HV/HP any longer, because you desperately need more def/HP to survive.
At the current point I'd rather try to maintain the old sets and add defensive stats through other gear.

Well, at least the CW gear has arm pen. Something that's seriously lacking on the HV set. Still, the active bonus on the HV set is so good that people won't change it for this set, unless the upcoming PvE content requires such debuffs.
Yeah I'm a little disappointed that hv remains the only real set to go for.

the -10% defense from the GWF armor..
Is it really that good ?
How much defense do pve mobs have `? (1k or 2k ?)

They don't have any (12% and 24% damage resistance only). 10% DR debuff represents in ~3% (correct me if I'm wrong) more damage for you and your allies. If you have your ArP capped at 24%, you'll receive pure damage buff.

Except that it won't really be a -10% defense, any more than Terror's effect is. It will be a damage boost. No, that does not mean that you can skimp on ArPen, either.
m8 it's 10% defense , not damage resistance %%%
enemy have 3000 Defense , 10% it's 300 defense, dunno how it will be applied on mobs.
and about Critical chance , i think it's 10% lowerd crit chance, not 10% out of 30% .

I'm wondering about the new DC armor.
Like many other DCs, I am using the T1 High Prophet set much of the time, and had kind-of been hoping for an upgrade to that in Mod 5 - a buffing/debuffing set of some kind. Now, what we got here is a debuffing set, but the question is - is the 4-piece set bonus good enough to justify replacing my HP set ?
imho it will be good to have for pugs that crit chance and severity will reduce chance of your teammates being 1shot
Not really relevant - this is supposed to be high-end gear - and people getting this will presumably have completed all the other modules first, and typically have a GS of 17K+ - I don't think many of those players run with random pugs that get one-shotted.
What is he crit% of the average boss, by the way ?

id say thats the point of this new direction in gear
armor set gives decent, balanced, base and you min/max with accessories and artifacts.
comparison of AoW vs Draco vs Templar
i added steely defense bonus to power, new set has more total stats, but in offensive it sucks, and thats without even adding 4/4 bonuses
