As has been pointed out many times, this is just wrong. Melee and Support? That's mostly GWF, TR, GF, and DC. None of them have a problem getting great success unless you hinder yourself.

Exactly ... If I played a "DPS DC" or if I played like I usually do in dungeons - focusing on buffing others and debuffing the monster, I would fail in the HEs, in the sense that it would be extremely hard for me to get a Great success. You need to adapt your playstyle to the circumstances. Those too inflexible to do that will fail.

So Melee and support classes shoud play out of her role to achive better reward ?
    Why ?

I have seen some lvl 4 DCs with 4 k power in ToD HE try to achive Great Succes yepp they play out of they role .
Is this a good path ? I dont think so.
I think if somone actively play her char and do the best(and play her class role in game ) what they can shoud achive somthing.

    DPS-oriented?

This is a fairly RNG-related heroic yet again. It benefits casual players who play it braindead.

I think it is fine though since this isn't Neverwinter's endgame, this is just some sideshow for a week.

So Melee and support classes should play out of her role to achieve better reward ?

If they want to obtain the best result for themselves, they should adapt. Now, in my case (as a DC), it means I have to switch to a completely selfish play style - think only about the benefit to me - not the group as a whole. This might not be acceptable to some RP-oriented players, but it is necessary for this particular goal.

Having said that - after getting "Great Success" 30-40 times, the only special reward I got was (once) three packs - normally the pnly difference is the size of the reward you get (20 versus 30).

Issue with HES have been pointed out for months and months, with really no resolve, well I take that back, THEY made it worse to get items, not better.. HA.

Secondly, I actually agree with the OP, whats the point of this thing, some of you can convert ad to zen and buy enough of the junk stuff to get the purple companion, thats about it.

All the free grind stuff is pretty junky.. most of us have more green companion unlocked with same exact stats on them (I have 6 unlocked actually that I can choose from on any new character, I can only carry 4 anyways, becuase I ahve to have a augment on any new toon. So no point there.

IM hoping some of you remember the time when running events were worth it, In fact I know many of you do, DONT you remember getting a blue enchant on almost every other run on some of the CTAs like 6-8 months ago.

Im starting to wonder why they even give us these things anymore.

I have just stopped doing all the events all together honestly. Don't care for more useless grinding for green garbage pets not to mention this patch has me disconnecting every few minutes so pointless to try as I won't be in game long enough to finish in most cases. To bad and like the OP I agree Respen's was the best event they have ever done and the rewards for doing just about everything in this game have slowly gone down to the point of not even being worth it (since beta IMO.)

The stuff from the Lliira event was ok. And it was actually possible to get. This event, and the summer one are just... pathetic.

You lost your mind. Getting the bell was a grind fest straight out of hell. Toke me longer to get one bell grinding with one character than it does to get the daily for this event on 13 toons.

XD ok... GFs are not DPS brutes and not the tank we should be... so how you play a GF?

If you want to achieve great success very easily with a GF against any dragon, slot Supremacy of Steel, Lunging Strike, Anvil of Doom and Knight's challenge. Stay in front of Dragon's breath, activate Supremacy and Knight's challenge and keep blocking. Use lunging strike and Anvil when they become ready. You'll receive and deal tons of damage. More than enough to reach any threshold.

The biggest problem with these events is that its boring to play. So many players and no challenge because anything that comes at you will die in seconds.

They need to bump up the challenge and bump up the rewards. It needs to take longer time to do one HE and the rewards needs to be better. Its absolutely NO fun at all to do one HE in one min and get bad drops.

And please realize that companions with stats bonus = no value at all for most players. You might as well just remove those companions.

My bigger question is the (yet more screwy) currency system. I played D&D since it came out,
and this game for over a year, and I STILL don't get this Event's system.

Yesterday I fought over 60 encounters - no medals. Today I fight 2 encounters and get 2
medals. And then I GUESS the General took them when I went back to her, but who's to know?

Why do I only have one Medal when I've played two days? I know I re-talked to everyone
at the end of my day. Confusing as hell.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

    Those are NOT the medals.

Read the names of them. They also have a medal icon, but they are not the medals.

I think you get 2 guaranteed medals as part of the daily event quest.

You can get more medals through RNG if you are lucky in heroic encounters, or you can craft defense supplies and give 6 or 12 of them to the event NPC near the market.

    No no no....

The things you get for the daily quest use a medal as their inventory icon as well. You trade these in for a writ. They are NOT medals. They have no use for anything other than getting your 1/day writ.

I don't know if I'm more irritated at the art design or the players who don't read the item names at this point.

    My feedback:

    Map is nice.
    Mobfest is awful.
    Mobzerg is useless.
    HE are meh.
HE reward bug make it impossible to participate with 3 of my 4 chars.
Rewards are behind a timegate. Not farmable like in other events.
Rewards get changed awful from PTS to live.
    New 'profession' is useless.
New 'profession' waste 2 of my profession asset slots.

Note 6 for the event. Nice idea, but again Cryptic fail so hard with many things. Nearly so a BS event like the gondevent.

    They've added a news post.

Nothing in it about getting the medals as drops from heroic encounters at all. They don't mention though that the heroic encounters drop supply packs in addition to being able to craft them.

Hate these stupidly oversized enemies. Should belong only to bosses. What's the deal with the giant archers and TRs but then the GF and GWF enemies are normal sized!?

Sword coast advanture give 20 Insignia in sort time 2 min Max.
In 1 and half hour any one can have the horn from Sword coast advanture .

Also another tip buy some blue carts and craft !
Best way is if somone have 1000gold can buy lots of injury kits then he/she can craft it for medals .
    And avoid HE complitly.

Figured out the Blue cart and all my toons have one, will have to try the injury kits idea.

I had a few great success with my Fury warlock and my heals DC. I have not tried with my GF or any of the other classes though.

I am loving the event though, just wish the profession was not so long of a wait lol

What happened to your chirpy, "if you don't like it, don't play it, but stop complaining on the forums" attitude?

There's a difference between 'epic' widgets ( you can get by with less ), that you can grind for, or buy, and events that are *designed* to be impossible to complete ( get the 'best' items ) within a fixed timeframe. There is no chance to get 7 medals in 7 days without spending zen. Do the math. Takes 6 of the crafted widgets to get 1 medal. You will gain, perhaps 2 or 3 widgets a day via crafting ( without a crit / high tier result ).

So... you *can't* obtain the 'best' ( purple cleric, meh, really, but still the goal for some of the folks playing this event ) via crafting.

Sure, you don't have to do the event. I'm not. The fashion outfit is poorly designed ( what mummy reject wannabe approved this stuff? ), and the enchant drops random HAMSTER stuff that you already get loads of from random HAMSTER monsters.

The event is a *brilliant* move on the part of Cryptic though. OCD sorts will grind their hearts out, and then open their wallets, and... not get the purple cleric. That chirpy enough for you?

Back to questing for me. Still working on a T2 set.

    Stay safe out there.

You can only gain Medals of Heroism with a craft grind ( good luck there, takes 6 crafted packs to get 1 medal, takes 6 hours to craft 1 ( maybe 2 ) packs ).

Or you can try ( and fail, if you're not dps spec ) for a great result in the HE. For 1 pack. Still takes 6 to equal 1 medal.

Takes 7 medals for 1 rng chance at... ( nothing really worth the time )

Ignore the event. Enjoy the main game, and the nice night sky over PE.

OK.. i farmed more than 4 hours.. i got "Great Success" in almost 50 HEs.. and my rewards: 0 Medals, 6 supplies.
So u guys tell me that i need to farm for 30 hours to get a Defender’s Pack that has a chance to just give me a CODEX OF COMPANION EXP.. Brilliant..

I would really like to say to the genius that created this reward system.. "Thanks for Respecting our Playtime"

    Mission Aborted.. Event Ignored..

PS: Lets see how many more fails until this game is going to be ignored too..

PS2: I want to add that the map and the event overall is beautiful... its just the reward system so TERRIBLE that RUINS all the nice work done by so many people... I hope they get ANGRY TOO...

I got two medals yesterday from a combination of crafting and drops, and I didn't get into the event much because I was expecting the maintenance which got pushed back. I have multiple alts who can all craft and mucho materials with nothing much better to do with them. In a day or two, everyone can have a blue cart, thus a better chance at getting 3 supplies per task instead of just 1, though injury kits work just fine, cost gold which I again have lots of from all those alts doing Leadership, and have no tiered results so asset quality doesn't matter there.

If I absolutely wanted to get the medic 12 times so I could bind it on all characters, I'd probably be facing the same conclusions, but I'm pretty happy to just put everyone to work and see what comes out of it.
