The pocket pet can be activated from inventory and therefore keep that slot free.
Hey, you really are a life saver! Thanks for the info!

There's a cooldown on the NPC's quest? This event is just plain awful. I'll be lucky to get just 1 bell....

They went from the Jubilee to this. It was quick and easy to get the bound items and you grind from time to time for the rest.

This, just a wait all day grind fest and HOPE you come in 1st place just to get enough of the currency. Unfair beyond words.

Non-augment companions will never be useful to me until they have effects while summoned that compensate for the 3k+ stats I lose from not using an augment. Since they never will, they will never be useful. Sorry. I get way more DPS out of an extra 1k power than I would out of some companion that draws aggro like mad on my TR and does piddly bits of damage. ;)

I haven't even logged on yet since the event started, but it sounds like it's way worse than the first one without any real improvement to the rewards. Joy?

I use a cat with my main (HR), and there's definitely no comparison: she gets over 4500 more in stats with it than without it (though I'd really like to know why equipping an Archnomancer's Ring on the cat DOESN'T give a movement bonus, but that's a gripe for another day).

For my DC, I haven't gotten around to leveling up the cat yet so she relies heavily on the vicious dire wolf for now. I might grind to get her the bell to see how much it helps. My CW also uses a cleric disciple instead of an augment, but she isn't even 60 yet.

One suggestion for this event: randomize the locations of the fireworks to make things interesting. One reason why the grind is boring is because they always respawn in the same place!

A Protector's Enclave scavenger's hunt event could be a LOT of fun if done right.

I don't care for the rewards at all, but the hunt for fireworks in PE is fun. :)

The event this time around looks nicer and is actually something you can do if you want to spend time on it. The drawback this time around is that you can only do it every 30 mins and have to then stay in PE until the timer runs out to get credit (I'm assuming it works like all other contests do)

For those of you who weren't around for the first one, there was no contest. You were given fireworks and there were five cannons around PE that you could load them in. The quest was to load one cannon and fire it, then turn in. Rewards were dye packs and fireworks. Doing it everyday would allow you to get the star mask. Coming directly after the Valindra Invasion, it was sort of a letdown. Though since it could be done at any time, it wasn't anything to run multiple alts through it each day.

I would like someone to explain the ranking system to me plz. I rank 9-18 turn in less than 35 and get a bronze and 2 tokens, then I rank 3rd turn in 48 tokens and get copper and 1 token WTF?

I can accept that its one of those rare drops, I can even accept the fact that given this type of contest type event that its probably typical for some people to slide in on a map change the last minute and drop all their fireworks at the last minute (seen a lot of that during the winter festival last year). However what is a bother is the fact that there are not group placements there is strictly only the top three. ITs already rare that you will even get the curio and now its worse because I have to farm fireworks all day for maybe 1 shot at getting it and if someone comes in dropping way more than I did I totally lose out even if the guy who does it only wins by like 5 even less.

Why can't this be a point bracket, top 3 finishers get gold, the next 3 get silver, and then the rest get copper and bronze? AT least more than one person could get a shot since no one is interested in tying for first.

I guess I can just wait until the next skirmish and play skirmish 24/7 til I get it out of a chest. AT least that way i'll have a real shot at getting, right now the chances are so slim to even place high enough to get it I keep wondering why I keep trying.

There are not really any exciting rewards other than the bell for maybe two of my characters the rest of the stuff is so MEH that I have to wonder why there isn't more awesomeness for the 4th of July??? From looking at the calender it doesn't appear to be another summer festival coming unless that gond thing is a summer festival.

    - "please either add a bank contact (guild & personal) to this area, or include it with any future such locations. A PvP vendor would also be nice."

I vote for these as well, perhaps a "moneychanger" table which was a medieval profession and would be more 'believable"

I sometimes have to go the bank twice b4 and after the garden, spoils the benefits of the portal etc. and detracts from the elite reward I expended time and effort obtaining.

Brackets scale with number of participants.

There will always be just one bracket for GOLD, so it's either 1 winner or a tie with the same score.

SILVER bracket can scale from 2nd to 5th or 10th place with more participants etc.

With only 3 participants, they will be 1 GOLD, 1 SILVER, and the 3rd will be the last bracket which is COPPER, or something like that.

that's not really very specific or very helpful but I appreciate your time. There were 9 participants in this. I was 3rd. i got copper. in the others I have no idea how many but I would really like them to break it down. I mean really when there are 40 or 50 people involved and you get 1 just for putting a single FW in the mortar and then if you bust your but and get 50 and that only gets you ranked like 20th then why bother not to mention the people that are going and getting like 300, yes I saw a score of 319, you're just wasting your time, oh and not to mention I was ranked number 1 and the event was almost over and , bang SNR, when it came back up there were 3 minutes left and I was no longer ranked 35 FWs poof! I really don't like the way this was scored but what are you gonna do?

I was a bit disappointed the first time I handed in the Fworks.
So many folks all doing it and the winner was 100+ nearly 200.
The next time, I had 81 to hand in, I saw that the platform was crowded,
so I changed instances, found one with only 7 players in PE,
    according to the tab.
Went there and the platform was empty, waited a few seconds and the box appeared,
then I handed in the Fworks and just waited.
Only a handful of people arrived and I ended up getting first place.
So checking out other instances of PE, might help. :)

I really dislike the way the rankings are done too, I kept getting knocked out of first by people dropping large numbers of fireworks near the end of the event. So I decided to just sit in PE the whole time, picking up 4 fireworks, and just loading one firework per event and replenishing my 4 fireworks from boxes when I ran out. I just do something else while waiting for the event to start/end and hit a key every once in a while to make sure not to get logged out for being idle for too long. It takes longer to get favor since I can only get one favor by being in the bottom bracket, but I am not disappointed by thinking I will get gold and having someone swoop in an "steal" it at the last minute. I have gotten 3 bells so far, but I don't know if I will try to get another, since doing it this way is so boring.

Pretty much the worst event so far. Only one good item and not worth the grind it takes to actually get to it.

Finally got my bell...yeah...what a pain in the tush.

I was so busy doing the event 19 times that I didn't even have time to get the daily done three times on more than 3 characters.

Honestly the worst part about the event wasn't the grind, holloween was far worse in that regard, it was the time limitation. I mean I have 8 characters. If I wanted to do the daily on all of them it takes a minimum of four house and prevents me from doing basically anything else between events. Good grief.

Yeah, I don't like giving negative feedback but please don't recycle the mechanics for this one. ;)

It's exactly as I've described, if there's 40 players, the SILVER bracket scales from 2nd to maybe 5th or more. For 10 players and below, There's only 1 GOLD, 1 SILVER, from 3rd onwards is the COPPER bracket.

I don't know if it was a glitch, but at one point I got Silver despite there being people in the bronze bracket ahead of me. There may have been some sort of separate scoring mechanism to boost those who farmed fireworks in PE. Every firework I placed was farmed during the event.

I've encounter an instance where someone dumped firework at the very last few seconds. He ended up moving above my rank with a higher score but I was in the SILVER bracket while he was COPPER. Not sure if yours was the same scenario.

I have had several toons that completed the contest (they were on the "X" listing) and then couldn't complete the Disciple's quest for the 2 tokens and coupon.

    Anybody else?

The help reporting was useless. It sent me here to search the forums. No answer, no corrections. And for reporting a second separate incident, I was criticized for submitting a duplicate ticket. Fast response though; empty answer/solution.

BTW the key binding tip was worth coming here.

I'd like to buck the trend present in this thread to say thanks for the last 2 events (Lliira's and and Neverember's speech) and how much I preferred these reward models over the Garrundar CTA event. I acquired the travelling companion and Lliira's bell by playing exactly and only what I needed to earn said prizes. Compare that to the 90-something runs I tried, unsuccessfully and resentfully, for the Shaman pet.

I don't know if it was simply coincidence or if you actually took the Garrundar complaints on board but I for one sure appreciated being able to earn the proffered prizes rather than spending hours and hours trying, only to be cursed by RNG.

    So, thanks.

There was a very sensitive timeout that would prevent contest participation from counting towards the daily if you were waiting for the contest to end while afk. Much too short to actually get an "idle" warning, but it happened a few times before I figured it out. It stopped happening as long I either didn't bother to join in with a single firework until right before the contest end, or if I actually did something like open all the Leadership boxes while I waited.

    IRT thread
The coupons sucked me in. Didn't use most of them, but I got 15% off anything a few times and used all those and all the ones for keys and dye.

I love the night sky and fireworks. All my tokens for running dailies went on more fireworks. I farmed one bell, which was mostly made tolerable by the fellow running a trivia game, HUGE props to him.

Every half hour seems frequent, but if you're trying to do this on multiple characters or get the 25 tokens for a bell, times that, plus the fact that you have to wait out the duration of the contest, plus the super-sensitive-afk-detector... equals horrific grind, and not being able to play normal things like dungeons the entire time because you're potentially stuck in PE for ten minutes out of every half hour. Placing higher in order to get more than one token per contest was a crapshoot because even if you had many fireworks from doing all your dailies, you could get skunked by someone with more than you coming into your instance after you placed yours.

The firework display was amazing. I loved the aesthetic of the platform getting more and more full as people piled on their fireworks, and the fact that the show was dynamic and apparently only gave you the full pyrotechnics if a threshold had been met for fireworks placed in that instance. I'll have to go through my screencaps. My efforts to not get timed out involved a lot of trying different vantage points for the firework show, so I should have some pretty pictures.

The event store had a slider for buying multiple food-potions, but not for buying multiple fireworks. *Please* consider sliders for absolutely everything that people might ever conceivably want to buy more than one of. It's an extra click for buying one at a time, but potentially saving scores of clicks for items like these fireworks or trading in bounty items in other parts of the game. Our carpals will thank you.
