You know, the person above me makes a good point. I am against this for the most part as Neverwinter has distinctly avoided the pay to win scenario. Everything you can buy for zen is convenience/ quality of life/ optional in my eyes. This would almost seem manditory for progression on an alt. This would lead to something games like WoW suffer from big time, empty zones and areas. Very few people would ever work on the old zones. Neverwinter feels alive no matter where you go in game, and this is a very good thing. WoW sells level 90 characters... because of this low level areas feel empty and you'll hardly ever run into another player while questing in a zone. This is bad. When content becomes obsolete in a game that is generally a bad thing.

I don't "think" I have a problem running new characters through the different boon zones because you can do it at your leisure. The problem I see coming fast is that you will have a very hard time getting IWD drops. Its coming up soon that those zones will have less people and getting a group to take out some of the higher events might be a problem. Add that with the low chance of getting what you need.

You will always be able to get a group to do the dungeons but those IWD spawns are hit and miss.

Having done all the Shar and DR boons on six characters, I am finding the mod 3 grind soul destroying. I really can't see me bothering with the IWD boons on all characters (they're mostly terrible anyway), and doing all the PvP boons is simply like pulling teeth. If/when mod 4 drops with yet another profusion of increasingly marginal boons to grind, I can see bothering to do it on even fewer characters.

Indirectly, I think the lack of account-wide unlocks on this stuff will actually harm class diversity. It forces people to focus on fewer characters, which tend to be the more effective and thus more popular classes, perpetuating the problem. It also makes less money, as if you play fewer characters, you have fewer characters to shower with Zen store tat.

Moreover, if you force people into fewer characters with a very long grind per character to be "in contention", you make people grumpy and resentful. They will be more likely to look for short cuts, even less legitimate ones, in order to just make it stop. Well, it will force some people- the more obsessive. The less determined might just go and play something else.

Would be nice if you unlocked all boons automatically if you already completed them with the same class, so your alt/remake doesn't have to spend all the time again.

Absolutely agree with the OP, I'm over the whole grinding for boons on each alt and would gladly pay for the opportunity to skip the grind.

I see this being implemented in 2-3 years.

I think the game is still new for this feature to be available.

2000zen is around the pricepoint I was thinking though I'm leaning towards a higher amount

I agree that people should learn to play their characters and all that. HOWEVER, Once you've done Shar & DR Once, Twice....let's face it...you know it. You're not learning anything. You're just going through the motions at that point. The REAL "LEARNING TO PLAY" comes from grouping because you already know the basics, how stats work and all that by your first character (or should, anyways. If you don't, then mind-numbing repeatable quests won't help you with that either!).

It would be nice, if say by your 3rd character you're proclaimed a "Champion of Sharandar/Dread Ring" and all your boons open up. Or if that's too much, I'm not even that greedy - maybe by the third character, perhaps by my 3rd character reaching 60 I become a "Knight of Shar/DR" and I start at 60 with 3 boons opened. If I get 4 characters to 60, I'm a "Savior of Shar/VT" and I have 4 boons ready to choose from. 5 Characters and I'm a Champion and I get all 5 and maybe a title as well! YAY ME!

Just a thought. But I actually sat on my 5th boon forever on my main lol....I had my 2nd toon get her 3rd boon by the time I said "screw it - rip the band aid off" - That's how much I hated Shar. It's the reason I really haven't bothered with alts (And I do love my DC), but the thought off doing all of those dailies again..oh god, no PLEASE NO!!

STO has a system similar to our campaigns with their reputation system. They eventually added in a mechanic for alts to fast track their reputation.

So, it stands to reason, such a fast track system for campaigns might be introduced here. But I wouldn't expect it soon. STO's rep system was pretty mature and established before they speed it up. NW has a bit more growing to do, too get even close to that.

STO's Rep system came after Sharandar but STO had 3 Reps@start to grind. Fast track was added because STO is an older game and altitis is rampant there. I know multiple ppl w/30+STO alts. STO is finally getting a crafting revamp and guess what? It looks like NW crafting lol

BTW there's items you can buy to fast track rep in NW, look them up

    Agreed with OP.

Got a TR and DC and both have completed sharandar, DR and IWD.
I would like to start a Warlock with the mod4 but its so boring to grind 60 lvls + all the boons :/

I dont play so much now and its very time-consuming.
I dont know if ill do it also.

Wait?! Another crafting revamp? Whats that going to be, like the 4th one now? I know it got changed once before F2P when they added all those silly rare samples you need to scan for and collect. It got changed again with F2P to force you to use Dilitihum. Ugh, its hard to keep up with.

And yes, Im aware of the lockbox items and invocation rewards that can speed up the campaigns. My point was to simply illustrate that as Cryptic games mature. They tend to get a bit more forgiving in their grinds. Especially where alts are concerned.

wow, what happened to "gamers"? I remember when grinding your way to the top on multiple characters was an accomplishment and considered something to be proud of. Sorry, but IMHO, it you cant take the grind and dont want to do the work then you dont deserve to have multiple top level characters.
