where are the new lockbox ?
Update: Starting tomorrow 6/26 at 10 AM PDT we'll be introducing a new lockbox with even better rewards! More details will come then so be sure to check back.
i mean time is already passed but no new lockbox .
plz update on this where are the new lockboxes?

    It was posted on the 26th so maybe the 27th it will come?

    Typo in news post. Looks like Dwight meant the new boxes start 6/27.

    Oh I wonder if this is the one with the other kessels artifact and that flying disk , I bet that mount will be soooo expensive lol.

    Can wait to see what we got. I'm kinda shocked that a new lock box is coming out so soon, I was expecting August.

    Think about it from a business perspective:

    1) Keys are Cryptic's #1 best selling item.
    2) New lock boxes come out!
    3) Keys cost ZEN, which can be bought through the ZAX or with real money.
    4) The ZAX is currently backlogged by about two million AD.
    5) So if you want keys now, it'll cost you cash!

    Smart move from an economic standpoint.

    This is what they have done since the start...you get a new lockbox with a mod and one in-between mods. 3 months between mod3 and mod4 and its been about(believe it or not) a month an a half since mod3 was released. So they are following what I see as their normal pattern. I think its pretty much what they do in their other games as well.

    Not at all, there are plenty of keys to be had for AD on the auction house still :p

    But you are right mostly and I really don't care one way or the other tbh - lockboxes are basically gambling sometimes you win, more often you lose so I prefer to spend zen on stuff where I get what I want rather than a chance at getting it xD

    Lockboxes are a safer form of gambling. You have to understand that even if you LOSE, you will still recuperate around 50-70% of investment back as in-game currency.

    If someone's buying keys with real cash, that 50-70% back as in-game currency doesn't matter*. If they are funding their key purchases purely through AD they make in game, then sure.

    *And even if they could get that 50-70% back in real cash, that's still 30 to 50 cents on every dollar lost. It's just gambling in smaller increments, not really safer.

    I still call that gambling as you are still losing - that 50 - 70% is only there so you keep doing it more and more. Sort of a tease like well you didn't win this time but to soften the blow here take this mostly useless junk you have to try and resell to get some of what you spent back. This is also why poker machines in real life give out many small payouts vs big ones - to keep you playing longer in the hopes of getting that big one, I mean if you've won a small amount you can obviously get the jackpot if you keep playing xD.

    As the poster above me said as well.

    And as an edit - If you enjoy it fine go for it - it's your money, there are casinos etc for a reason in real life too :p

    I should add that you probably lose more on average unless you buy lots of keys.

    With my AD income...(very passive income) i can afford myself from 20 to 30 lockboxes a month wich is 1 box per day.
    At price of 1ZEN=500AD

    So the key to succes is buying character slots when there is discard for em and create farmers. To make one farmer-character with a potency of 7k AD per day u need to work leadership for 2 to 3 months daily.

    This way you always can enjoy a bit of lockbox opening fun each month with a chance to earn some rewards. Frozen lockboxes brought me plaguefire ench many runestones, workers and tools for blackice smithing, couple of artifacts and fire archon companion from tarmalune shop for my MoF CW.

    Cant wait for a new lockbox to try out my luck

    looks like they messed up past 10:00 am 6pm gmt and no new boxes are dropping and nothing at the ad verndor

    We'd also expect both a news post gushing about how amazeballs the new boxes are and a new Gateway banner, neither of which is in evidence.

    Didn't put a hamster treat on the switch to make sure it got flipped, methinks.

    How very incredibly shocking that gambling in small quantities doesn't net you an instant jackpot. You must be very disappointed.

    I'm done with lock boxes. I've purchased around 80 keys and have yet to get anything I couldn't have purchased cheaper at the auction. And that alchemy profession pack was horrible - anyone want 27 alchemists assets?!? Sorry, Cryptic, until you make sure I'm not going to get a couple rank 5 enchantments and 10 tarmalune trade bars for my money (for the umpteenth time), no more lock boxes for me.
