Items that have been won through NEED should become BoP, its really easy.

I think it could be a great solution in its simplicity.

best fix would be to have need votes bind the item to the char, so the max ad they can get from it is 10k from refining

that would force them to actually use the item they needed on, or vote greed if the item sells for more on the ah

I can see this working quite well. Good suggestion.

Still, I think having a "roll" (replacing "greed") and "pass" option should be added along with it.

But more importantly, allowing players to move the **** box away from the middle of the screen should be implemented ASAP. I'm not talking about the box AFTER the loot roll has finished (that one can be positioned elsewhere) but the actual option to choose Need/Greed/Pass. People have a compulsive nature to press 'F' to pick up loot during a fight obscuring the middle of the screen. :(

i actually hate this whole "greed" run non-sense, sometimes its hard enough to get a specific armor piece to drop let alone after x-runs it finally drops and i have to watch a different class get it and either sell it or salvage it.. need before greed generally works for me, ive seen some people want to roll greed becasue " there isnt anything i need in this dungeon" then why run it, surely its not for the xp if thats the case you should just go play pokemon or something.

I got most of my armor from the DD chests, but for everything else, i need money. Enchants drop only up to rank 4, and mark of potency etc. are quite rare. I play the game for fun, and for me, that includes character progression. If i'd never buy or sell something on the AH, but try to do everything myself, including upgrading enchants to level 10, i'd not have any meaningful progression in 2 years.

So i do dungeons in the hope of getting a rare item that i can sell, so that i can buy what i actually need, which doesn't drop.

And then someone with 16k GS and perfect enchants rolls need, after not saying a word when everyone else agreed on greed. Often people even say "LF 2 more greed run", someone says "pick me", and then he rolls need. This is why we need a "greed only" option. If you want to roll need and everyone agrees with it, why not? But joining a party that either explicity asked for greed *before* you joined, or rolling ninja need (especially nice: waiting until all others have rolled, so no one else has a chance to roll need etc.)..sorry, that has nothing to do with "needing the gear".

And everyone else might still need gear, too, but just as i said, you can not get everything as drop. I don't see a why you, because you *might* use the drop are more important than those that sell it and buy what they need. Everyone is in the same boat, so everyone should have the same chance.

That some classes pay less for their equip..thats only the armor and weapons, and not enchants, mounts, companions, bags etc. anyways, and it's Cryptic jobs to make the classes equally desirable.

Why would the well geared group with the less geared, if they had no chance at the drops? If you want to organize a need group, then do so. If you want to organize a greed group, you need a way to stop people from needing. It's not that much to ask.

i've joined groups where i didnt want or need anythinnk in said dungeon just for to help them out, in those cases i wish there was an option in my portrait//party interface to pass on all loot.

I think they should disable greed entirely if it is not for ones class. The same way they did it with need. This would put certain antisocial behaving individuals on a hold, immediatly.

I used to be on the need side of the 'Need vs Greed' argument, but the fact that certain class items have a considerable value over others is the whole reason why I think Greed all is the most fair option. I have given valuable items to people in greed all runs when asked for the item. I also had someone explain to me that an item that fell for my class sells for 700K which is like a months worth of ad for them if they could not ah the item.

Another thing people forget is while I may not immediately need an item because it it not my class, if I can sell that item on the AH and use the ad to buy the item i need, how much difference is that? The rng drop the item i do nto need, the rng gave me the item to sell to get what i need... In pnp D&D group we have, we normally will evaluate if the really awesome item should go to the class that can use it, or should we sell it and get several items the entire party would benefit from... sometimes you need to be a bit more creative rather than focus on the one 'need' of one toon...

And if that HV piece that you need drops unbound and you actually equip it, you have just made a huge mistake... and when you run a dd and that item drop bound in the dd chest, you will realize if you were just a little bit more patient, you could have had a bunch of ad.

so, i thought round robin was not random, but rather passed items that dropped to the player that is up, so first drop goes to first play, second drop goes to second player and so on. This is not greed all at all if it works this way. I would also like ot see an auto pass individual loot setting so i could configure my toon to auto pass on anything that is not a shard, enchant or purple item.

With this rule selected, the loot is already assigned to players when it drops. You cannot even see loot that the game has not already decided belongs to you, which is exactly the same as if all players in a party had automatically rolled greed on everything, but occurring behind the scenes. There is absolutely no opportunity for shenanigans either. But you'll have no way of knowing what items dropped or who got them unless the game decides that it goes to you.

I use this loot rule all the time except in epic dungeons, so that the game never ever interrupts to ask for a roll on anything. It is the rule used by default in CTAs too.

From my experiences using Round Robin rules in heroic dungeons, it is entirely possible for the same player to receive all the boss drops.
