And so it begins, shame this mod wasn't tested on the preview shard first... oh wait,it was. ;)

It doesn't matter how robustly something is tested on the test shard, SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will still find broken things when it goes Live. That's just the nature of the beast.

That's true, but there were issues that went ignored.

If it was just "someone", do you really think they'd be taking the server down again?

I have no music in many zones, also there's some events that aren't appearing, like the relic contest in tower distric. I hope you can fix this in this maintenance :)

I think they are doing a great job - moving a large amount of code live always causes problems, and fixing those frequently reveal new ones. It will get fixed, just be patient.

Off topic - kind of amazing the number of people (unnamed on purpose) with no, or very little playtime (less than 9 hours in a year? haha) are the biggest complainers in the forum, while the people who actually play the game seem mainly happy with the game and the devs. Odd, isn't it?

Where are you getting players playtime from? if you mean through arc then that doesn't mean anything , I've played several hours a day since open beta release day and mine is or should be zero since I've never logged in using arc.

Yeah, I rarely use arc to log in. I have the game installed through Steam and I don't even run Steam when I play Neverwinter. I made a shortcut to Neverwinter.exe and just run the launcher directly.

Not true. They also do emergency stuff when a large number of players are unable to even play due to a game bug, which is the case here.

Yeah same , I'm lucky in that I have never had to uninstall the game so I'm still able to use the original launcher , probably like a few others here , is this maintenance anything to do with the crazy lag that seemed to be effecting lots of people after the earlier patch?

I'm not sure. So far all I've been told is it is to address the two login issues.

If you do uninstall, save your Neverwinter.exe file. Then when you want to re-install, place that where you want it to be installed to (like the folder structure it is in now), and then run it. It will create missing registry entries for its location and patch the game to the location it's in. If they ever do make Arc Mandatory, this may cease to work however.

I see this on Twitter and Facebook too. I called a guy out who had 8 hours of playtime and stated in open forum that Neverwinter did not relate at all to Forgotten Realms lore. He had no clue about th R A Salvatore novels prior to launch that directly started with Gauntylgrymm and Neverwinter!

Oddly, that is related to the specific Adventure Zones not working properly. It should also be resolved. Please let me know if it is not.

I like seeing these patches come out PDQ. Nice to know swift action is taken when needed.

Well, other than the Control Wizard and me (guardian fighter trying to kite); the rest of the party was dead, any ways.

Actually when all (players) of us tested it on preview...we did not go to each every zone to see what unintended consequences from mod 3 was. We just pretty much stayed in IWD and also we ran epic dungeons.

You can also use the arc installer and just install it to another directory. Go that directory and you neverwinter.exe is there, make shortcut to your desktop and the same thing. No need to save anything.

Of course. It was kind of an off topic reply to add on.

    Yes, that's actually true... but...

The about half the things you're seeing pop up in these patches were, indeed, reported in Preview prior to this going live.

While I will certainly agree with you that the really screwy stuff like not being able to get into dungeons, not being able to click on Astral Vortexes for the AD, "Player has exhausted this node" when turning in a quests, and such showing up in other zones was pretty much a big surprise to everyone, and probably completely blindsided the Devs...

.... and cannot be blamed on them as there was no way to forsee this.

But... The 3-6 man Heroic encounter spawning issue was reported multiple times.

Guys, I may sound dumb (I'm new in the game, tried to login and it timed out, of course, I was suspecting they were doing maintenance to the servers or something), but do they update when the maintenance process ends with an update? Or you guys can login properly in the game and I'm the only one who suffers from the timeout thing?

    Thanks.

They normally update the first post in downtime thread when the servers come back up.

So I'm quite new to Neverwinter, and actually new to MMO, it is my first one. Last thing I played online was DooM and that was a long time ago :) After that I played only offline stuff.

I'm playing since almost 3 weeks, about 360 hours and have leveled up my two characters to 60 and started playing the new zone as soon as it came out. You should also know that I am a professional software developer (working as release train engineer for those who know the role) in a very safety sensible area around high voltage hardware. Our Dev/QA ratio is 1:1 (would love to know how this is in the Neverwinter development) with only 2 official releases a year and we just found out we have to do a service release today :(

People can complain about bugs and issues in the game all they want, I will tell you the quality is amazing, as is the agility with which critical matters are addressed! Especially considering the short time this is on the market. This is a complex piece of software and not hearing the music at some point should be the least of our concerns. Since this involves real money there are much more important concerns like protecting us, the players on a much more real life level. So from developer to developers I want to thank you for the great game and wish you all the best!

Umm you do not have to enter during delve times anymore. You can get one free DD chest key a day, as well buy them from the wondrous bazaar for next to nothing in AD. Your issue is resolved...lol
