Maybe i have missed it but it seems super weird to me that there is no thread or comment like:

"Mod 3 - awsome content - Thank you"

instead everybody is just complaining before they even played more than a day and progressed not more than 6% through the campaign. You read stuff like:

Scrimshaw? PvP only? Seriously?

Account Bank Disappointment

OK so Black Ice gear is worthless for me

...

Do you all really think its that bad? Am i being super naive? Are you just busy playing the content?

In my opinion i really like it so far

- Invocation looks **** nice
- to me it seems very social / i added few people to my friendlist while doing encounters / PVP / dailies allready
- love the city of Car Koenig
- Love the additional Bank slots
- Love the new Black ice enchants
- Love the new artifacts and the possibility to share them
- Did you listen to stories the barkeeper is telling? Mayb you should!
- finnally more challenging content
- ...

what do you like / are you enjoying it?

PS:

I am a DC playing since 10 Month.

Many people come to the forums to get their complaints heard, so MMO forums are generally going to be fairly negative.

I always skip over such threads, since I haven't done any IWD content yet and have nothing to add. Then again, it was 6 months after mod1 when i started it, and 4 months after mod2, so I'm in no hurry.

I also like the new Module. Yes the content is more challenging, but not that much more. Yes there is some lag in the heroic encounters when you have lots of people there, but that is to be expected. I have seen 10-20 people doing the 2-3 character ones, well have been part of them. Now I do think it is a little odd that you just need to be near to one to get rewards from it, without doing anything. I do like the bank slots and ability to move gold from one character to another.

This is a vocal minority and of course, complaints are gonna motivate a person to voice out more than satisfaction.

    In short, a typical forum

I understand that - what i dont understand is that the rest of the people dont feel the urge to state what they actually like. To get it off your chest :D

This is what i mean with "community" - it sound like the "community" consists of annoyed customers who want to be heard by Cryptic etc...

As with almost any customer feedback, you will hear from those that have some grievance. It is exceedingly rare to hear words of praise, and even then, those that put forth such compliments are often derided as "fanbois".

You have to understand the new content as fun as some of it was messed with alot of existing content caused bugs etc.. the inclusion of black ice gear and its mainly pvp focus all but alienates the pve community which is larger than pvp and as such were confused an entire expansion main focus was on something few even care about.

the inclusion of more feats that will further the gap in pvp fairness disappoints many newer players as its forcing them to be punching bags for already established veterans.

there were a lot of nerfs handed down and promises or more to come...

a general feeling of rushed unfinished content and a change to character creation leaving a bad taste in many mouths.

but what I did like was hearing at least one person can overlook this all.

You cant overlook it? Your expectations havent been met (temporarily) and now you cant enjoy a single facette of this expansion? You didnt name a single thing you actually like. Thats sad

Well, I play the game nearly every day as a 'thank you'. This is a major contribution. Others buy ZEN and/or do active testing on the preview. So if the forum is more a place to suggest, discuss and complain, I'm perfectly fine with that.

Personally I think they deserve the negative feedback. Of course people take it too far or sound like they're whining over nothing or next to nothing/made up cases in some posts. However they did overprice stuff, they did make things buggy (yet again), and there's no long term content. For the short term we have awesome new content thats new, challenging and refreshing. It beats the dread/sharandar areas that are a walk in the park (which i like since I could easily get my boons on 6 toons without trying). However after 1.5 months we'll be back to having nothing to do since it'll be repetitive and unrewarding unfortunately.

While there are some good things to come out of this module, there's also the bad things which people voice their opinions on more and there's things that could've been done better. I also don't like how much they're trying to shove the cash shop on us. Of course most people don't notice it now, but you'll soon find out that the 1 gauntlet you get will be a big bottleneck.

I'm glad they came with some more challenging content, but they really needed to come out with long term gameplay. Unfortunately it seems like they're killing that and the older players will soon get bored if they haven't already. I partly wonder if they don't care about that demographic though and just want to cater for the casual and less hardcore players.

Its not really about praising cryptic and the devs - i just wondered why people dont express positive impressions in this Forum. I dont know what you connect with the term "discussion" but positive aspects seem not to count. Obviously you arent able to come up with a thing about mod 3 you like other then you are playing it?! um ok :D Feel a bit Alien among some of you guys...

But thx all i think i got it now! Move along there is nothing new to see here...

People do leave positive feedback on stuff they actually like. Some of the ones positive about the new content are probably more occupied with it or aren't so sure how it will pan out being early days. However there's a lot of stuff they've done to be negative about. People were very positive about the April fools event though for example.

People were also extremely positive about Respen's Marvelous Game.

For the record, I'm having a lot of fun on Module 3. The terrain and visual are nice and the Heroic Encounters are a lot of fun. I still haven't been on a map where "Raiding the Raiders" or "Protect the Prospectors" has been successfully completed. Those two are freakin' hard. Great challenge. My only complaint is that they don't come around often enough. MOAR!!!

Oddly i was just thinking yesterday how well many things went. I have seen many times on other places/games that the issues were not even recorded or any attempt made to fix for many many days. I thought it would be nice to say i appreciated the effort of the folks who made the whole IWD expansion area/ module. There is a lot of work that went into that and much of it is pretty, graphics and content and so on.

It isnt the company's fault that some folks got their panties twisted over things that were pure speculation. things like reskill tokens or skills that help companions for free or anything they were never promised to begin with.
If that makes me a brown noser then so be it. I dont play to make anyone happy but me anyway.

Yes definately, Kudos, Doritos and Cheetos and Mt Dew for all the hard work. You know i have other stuff in the pantry but some folks aren't old enough.

post script: My main is a HR, not gonna cry about reskill tokens. They are available in the various ways to people who work for them in whatever way is preferred.

That was the one I was talking about :P. I managed to do raiding the raiders on my DC and actually got my bracers. Never managed to get it on preview. Would've liked it on my cw since she'd be more useful for kessels retreat but meh. Just need to ponder whether to farm more black ice on my dc or try and get bracers on my cw.

The reskill tokens are something that have always been given in the past and have been stated theat they give them when major changes are made to a class such as the gwf and hr. It's also kind of a double standard to let every other class get one when their 2nd path came out but hrs don't.

That has been stated by players. It has never been an official stance by the company. And while its disappointing that none where offered this time around. They have been very liberal and generous with tokens previously. While not obligated or committed in any way to do so. Im, willing to give them a pass, this one time, simply due to that alone.

TBH, this game is a lot better than I expected. It does need more bank space for personal banks (one to two more rows), but overall, I think it's fun.

THAT said, there's quite a bit of vitriol that goes on daily in Enclave. I don't mean arguments, I mean people being nasty for the sake of being nasty, or ridiculous names like SirBigBallz or some other type of "look at me, I need attention" sort of name or handle. The community in STO is pretty good about stamping out lewd and crude people. Here, it seems to be given a pass most of the time.

Personally I had a lot of fun since a long time ago in neverwinter, I'm often browsing the forums but I don't post much. Since icewind dale expansion I was able to party with friends and family more than before, I would like to thank the developers for working on this free content regardless of any zen related stuff. Good job to anyone whom contribute to this game especially all of you players out there ! :D

I still think HRs at the very least could've got one since first time HRs would've missed the chance to get any free respecs. Idc that much though. Not keen on them. I wanted a long range dps instead of what we have.

I'm not even gonna state how much bank space space I have. I have a mule account with 6 toons that have their individual guild banks with 2 tabs. A fair amount of bank space on my main on multiple toons and also multiple greater bags of holding. Kind of a lot more than 1-2 row :). I have a hoarding problem in games where I don't like to use up limited resources or save items if I can do without and then never use them.

Honestly, I try to ignore zone chat in PE and/or just spend as little time there as possible. I've found some great people in the NW_Legit_Community channel, so there's that.

Anyway, I too find NW to be a great game. I've surely had my gripes about things here or there, but it is much better than many other MMOs I've played, so kudos to the devs for their hard work!

    PS:

I am a DC playing since 10 Month.

Sometimes I post stuff I don't like, but that doesn't mean that I hate this game, it would be stupid... I enjoy playing this game and that's why I'd like much if they corrected those things that are posted, so this game wouldn't be just "Good", it could be an Excellent Game... but the thing is that sometimes I find bugs and then I find out in this forum that the bug has been since a lot of time, and sometimes since beta, so I don't understand why they add and add content, when there are major bugs in the game that have not been fixed (to put an example: Drow HRs need a desperate bug fix!), and time to time they do something I do not understand, for example, the fact that they didn't give a Free Respec Token to the HR and GWF class, when they did massive changes on them... etc...

But needless to say, I really enjoy playing it NWN and will continue playing it :), but developers... put more attention in the Bug Reports Forum, at least let us know that you are aware of the important bugs that are posted...

    Greetings...

    Greetings...

They replied to some posts on preview and have noted that they were aware of bugs already existing so they take some notice. However there have also been issues ignored for weeks. I guess they cared more about a timely release. Still at least it's out and nothing as bad as the potion bug made it to live. I personally used to enjoy the game, but I guess half the reason I don't as much anymore would be because a lot of old timers have left.

The things I like about this game is the leveling, the dailies, the professions and the theme/effects of the classes (CW spell effects and gear, GWF "unstoppable" concept, acrobat TRs... etc).

This lacks on class balance, challenging PvE content, PvP types, class concepts (Wizards are not what they're supposed to be), class managing (Paladins will have no place with a Fighter having the title of "Guardian"), lore (the quest mechanics are good though), bug fixing (there are critical bugs awaiting for fix since beta, like the CW not getting benefits from ArP), and lots of more stuff that I currently don't remember. Also personal stuff, like... there are no furry/anthropomorphic races :S

Basically... I play this because it "looks pretty", since a lot of things in the game are broken or deceptive. Maybe because it's F2P, I don't know to be honest, I haven't played many F2P games, I only play this sometimes because it's D&D.

Most of the changes they made on M3 are just like... 30% of it is stuff that they should've put in the beginning, and 70% is something that we can just ignore.

I liked the entire package its pretty hard I actually have to work to solo with almost every class excepting my GWF but i do have to remain on my toes. Its actually fun I'm not just droning about killing weak mobs.

My GF took a while to kill the enemies (full tank) but it was hard for them to down me finally went down lighting the beacons because i got caught lighting one of them almost killed the enemies that spotted me then an encounter occured right in front of me i killed quite a few of them before they downed me though.

I'm looking forward to finishing this with all my characters loving the artifacts the most though was the only thing holding my main and alts back: not having them.

Allotta the forum is complaining i dont get it; personally I just ignore the garbage and cut through it. I just ignore the bugs they aren't numerous except when new things are introduced and only usually take a month or so to iron out. I'd rather come up with solutions then complain.

Also looking forward to a future new class if anyone cares.

I just think they threw a lot of controversial changes/decisions in with this mod (HR, GWF, partial character creation revamp, pvp focus, no new dungeon) and then they have a somewhat experimental empowering mechanic with the Black Ice Gear, Enchants, etc that's supposed to be pve and pvp. Add some bugs, and it's easy to see why there's primarily discussion about these.

I'm enjoying the new content though and I like the new zone and HE's a lot and they seem to be a step in the right direction. I like how open the new zone is (it looks good too) and more multi stage events are always fun for me. And the class artifacts are a nice gift. :)

    Edit:

We've been to snowy Icewind Dale, let's go to large densely packed jungles eventually. Maybe an island with beaches. That'd be fun, I see Forgotten Realms has a jungle area called Chult.

Personally, in my honest opinion, I will say that if I ran an MMORPG or some other MMO or even any game for that matter, as the owner I would actually encourage feedback as long as it is not slanderous or excessively rude. Anything civilized, whether it is positive, negative or neutral is perfectly fine and in fact would be the very point and purpose of my creating said forum to begin with.

Why? Simple. Because input of any kind is still input and feedback, and thus will show the true opinions and feelings of the player/customer base upon which the game relies to heavily upon. This will then lead to me knowing what to improve and how to do so. Anything less would merely be foolishly planning to fail sooner or later.

This^^ all this and nothing more. Its what ive been saying since i got on the forums. Because they listen to that: Reason will make this game great. Whining will ruin it. Or do what you want i dont care :)

Dungeon keys are an awesome idea. I like it make DD the way it is now doesnt cost a key and therefore free. They actually gave us some good stuff here and they do not plan to just stop here i'm sure.

Look at the positive side of things. People would not voice their rage if they didn't like the game. Anyone posting on the forums be it positive or negative is someone who plays the game to the point where he feels compelled to post something. It would have been worse to get no reactions at all to a content patch...that would mean the game is dead.

it's true but lots of people rage a little too much ive been in several arguements just from replying or trying to have a conversation or discussion and it goes south as if i insulted thier mother or something; but yeah i agree with you. but everything does not have to be something to rage about though. People come up with better ideas when they are composed than when they are angry.
