I am the same way. Companions and running the Sword Coast adventures are almost as fun as playing. I have 15 companions on my main, and at least 2 (wolf and Neverember guard) that I REALLY wish I could move to my main.

Eh' On about 17, maybe 20, pounds worth. ;)
    Sorry, couldn't resist.
But seriously, I claim all of my account wides: Storm-Archer{or whatever it's called}, Renegade Illusionist, Slyph, Panther, and Hawk, along with a Stone with my most important Toons and the occasional odd Event Pet. So, usually at least 5 or 6.

I purchased the "All Companions" pack without the intent to actually keep them all. It's fortunate that you don't have to equip a companion for the credit to your collection. I actually laughed when I opened the box and my screen suddenly filled with endless system messages stating "Companion X added to your collection".

I had a fleeting thought the game might crash with all those messages flying-in so fast with all the "DING!" bell sounds. Of course the Z-Store companions aren't all the collection items, but a large chunk of them. The only ones I don;t have are those found in dungeons (I don't bother with group-play for a myriad of reasons) and I doubt I'll purchase them through Auction House just to add them to my collection.

Though I do agree, they are fun to collect. The hard part is deciding with ones to have summoned because they also are fun to have running around

. . . My main character has 32 companions. My most treasured on him are my purple Ioun Stone of Allure, Sprite, Will-O'-Wisp, and Fey Panther. I too collect companions and one day shall have them all!

I have 23 on my main. Would like to have them all, but don't really have the funds to purchase all of the companions for that. Choosing which ones to have active for the bonuses is challenging. ;)

I guess it'll be 28 on the pet collector as soon as I get around to binding an illusionist to him. His ctrl+J collection is more full than that due to buying a companion pack for an Xmas treat. I distributed these around to try to make the most use of their active bonuses across multiple characters, but made sure to "collect" them all first.

For utility, I still have no regrets about the dire wolf.

For cuteness, the pseudodragon and leprechaun are both delightful. The sprite is a brat who keeps booting Silverjon in the head for no reason.

The honey badger is a hilarious combat pet, as unruly as advertised.

The Vicious Dire Wolf is my favorite simply because he was my first pet from my pack and he is still very useful for any new toons I create.

    23. Mostly use the cat. Others for fun. Try to grab any free or low cost ones.
Rust Monster works the best for me in Sword Coast... tho I only have the
Phoera and Wisp as my other purples.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

62? As far as I know, I have all the promo companions and I'm missing the same amount of companions (I'm missing the hunting hawk, but have the dire wolf. Otherwise my missing list is the same). I'm at 59. I'm curious what ultra-secret companions I missed.

The current count on the wiki is 68, from counting rows in these two tables:
    http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Sword_Coast_Adventures#Companions
    http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Companion#Active_Bonuses

(The main companion table has repeats for different qualities like blue/white Skeletal Dog.)

My HR has 29, which fills up all my available companion slots. Luckily the extra slots are currently on sale!

Mt CW is sporting about 20, my GWF has 28, TR has 17, GF has 17 (exact same ones as the TR), and my DC has 10.

No. Companions are tools and I value them for their usefulness, but it's more of an annoyance to me. If it's not good, i will sell it or not buy it.

A fair number, but nowhere near "all." My main might have something like 16-18, some alts have maybe 7-10, other alts may have 5 or 6 (the cheapie or pack ones, mostly). Much as I like collecting pets, I've reached the point where I don't see too much reason to collect more, just for the sake of collecting. The ones I don't have at least one of, I'm not interested in them even for looks. They'd have to be really cute/awesome Rare or Epic pets (or Event-"free"....) at this point.

I also have some stored, unbound pets where no chr. actually uses one, because I have no idea what I want to do with them yet.

I have twenty one but only ever use the Cat , I like the way many others look but they just aren't useful to me , I really wish they would make all companions Augment so we could see more variety instead of everybody just running with Cats or ioun stones (or at least those that can afford to) I really wish they would lower the upgrade price of companions too but that's another story....

Other than useless common ones, just an Ioun stone of allure.

Cryptic tried to make companions relevant with active bonuses but I would like to see them do more for me to invest in it

I agree. I do think they have the coolest and best looking companions in gaming, they just need more love when it comes to fighting. They do almost no damage, and most of them cant survive well. Eventually they become a hindrance if you need to continuously revive them every fight. It doesn't stop me from collecting them though. Probably have close to 30 now. :D

On a side note, it would be awesome if companions came with 2 additional blank slots for themselves only. The 1st that's usable at companion level lvl 15, the 2nd useable at lvl 30. Then Epic dungeons could drop rare powerful "companion" skills(BOE so they can be traded) that could be slotted into these 2 extra spaces. Skills could range from punishing attacks to amazing self heals or buffs, even awesome stuns/freezes. The idea is that these 2 skills would only be used to improve the companions skillset to give them the love where its needed most.

You will probably get the HotN Panther before you get the Icosahedron Ioun Stone, unless you already have a couple of massively popular Foundry quests. You basically need ALL the Authoring and Community Achievements, which includes such gems as: "Own a quest which becomes 'Featured'", "Publish 5 quests which have all received a 4-star average and each have more than 25 review", "Get a total of 25,000 stars across all of your quests", "Receive 100 separate tip transactions of the maximum allowed amount", "Review 250 quests", "Play and Review 100 quests that are in Beta".

It's not a companion you'll see in large amounts.

I have a small team, one of each 'type', using mostly event ones because I can't afford throwing money away for virtual pets and friends.

Lillend (Sophie) for a healer, Ioun stone of Radiance (Starling) for stat boost, Illusionist (Sparkman) for controller and Swashbuckler (Brown) for a striker.
Being a rogue I don't use the striker a lot at all, but I like having her.
I am missing a defender that I would use happily, and am waiting to come across one that I'd really want. Atm I have a shield maiden (Tina), but she annoys me.

On my CW I have a phoera but I barely play that one and I can't even remember the bird's name

The Icosahedron Ioun Stone is the one thing in this game worthy of the title 'legendary', and yet it doesn't have it

I would have a lot more if they hadn't reneged on the unbinding of companions.

Now I have some valuable companions on a secondary character I don't play much and it cheeses me off every time I log in.
    Campaign: The Fenwick Cycle NWS-DKR9GB7KH

Wicks and Things: NW-DI4FMZRR4 : The Fenwick merchant family has lost a caravan! Can you help?

Beggar's Hollow: NW-DR6YG4J2L : Someone, or something, has stolen away many of the Fenwicks' children! Can you find out what happened to them?

Into the Fen Wood: NW-DL89DRG7B : Enter the heart of the forest. Can you discover the secret of the Fen Wood?

    5. i keep what i need and delete those that i end up not needing anymore. I hate to stack up on dusty emotional stuff. the 'stables' are thus useless to me.

    Yeah :/
And i have an additional problem... i have no real good english foundry quest

(If you want to try and help me to get closer to the companion then try the Quest: [Halloween] Care of graves pls pls pls i beg you)

@The power problem: Yeah thats ****, i mean, most abiltys are usefull. But the basic is too low PLUS the Runestones and other Equipment improve the stats of the companion but the stats has no value to the companion, DPS, Hitpoints and Defence are the same... would be this "bug" fixed, you could make them stronger...

Getting this companion nowadays isn't realistic given the small population. There were many more players during the beta, and then we've seen people getting these rewards. But now? Well, one can dream.

Personally, I would LOVE to see Companions get one Artifact Slot upon reaching 30. It could actually make the trouble of upgrading them that far worth the trouble and give you something to do with any double copies of BoP Artifacts you may manage to get (I'm looking at you Eye!).
