Task of Corellon fails as soon as regeneration ticks. I have real low regeneration on some chars and it still makes it fail. Was it intentional?

I unequipped a Waters artifact on a GWF last night and successfully completed this challenge, but he didn't have 0 regeneration because of a Thayan boon. (Disregard - this was Kelemvor.)
I wasn't able to complete this challenge on a TR with no regeneration at all but I wasn't able to tell why exactly that was. (Additional bug: She had no counter/timer in her sidebar so I was operating completely blind. This *may* occur when picking up a challenge after failing a prior one.)

It's possible but unnecessarily difficult.
All of my characters are built not to die so staying below 50% HP is a nightmare for all of them but I basically rage quit doing challenges on my Guardian Fighter. I actually took off all of my armor just to get my GF below 50% health without regen'ing it all back within two seconds without taking damage but then ferocious reaction kicked in and put me to 80% HP.
It's a nightmare. IMO it should be removed or modified for future events but it is very much doable and working as intended as far as I know.

P.S. I ran around in lava for over thirty minutes without taking potions in Mt Hotenow with my GF. It's just not right to expect an unkillable (with decent offense I might add) GF to remain under 50% HP. It's like I am punished for designing a GF to do what a GF is supposed to do: stay alive.
Get naked, get hit down to about 30% health, kite for 30 seconds. Innate regen from boons shouldn't pump you up too much over that time, but if necessary get plinked by your chosen foe a bit.
I generally choose a pack of crappy instagibbable monsters like servitors (DR) or powries (Shar), annoy the pack with an at-will or two, let them all whale on you for a bit, then kill all but one, and run circles around the poor thing.
The dogs in the quarry in the DR are also good, because they're pitifully easy to kite.
Really? Take off some gear, dismiss your companion and stand there and let some weak mobs hit you.....don't hit back until you get the completion.....you don't even need a large mob. This is the easiest challenge I've gotten on 3 toons....not trying to be rude, I'm just not understanding.

it also doesn't help when another player comes over and kills your mob.

. . . I've had no trouble completing the Challenge of Corellon each time I get it. On my characters that have Regen, I just remove the regen prior to picking up the Challenge off the ground. You can hover over them on the ground prior to picking them up to see the Challenge and the task. Sure, I have failed it several times but it shouldn't be a piece of cake.
I haven't completed this challenge yet. I haven't really tried. Are the rewards for all of the challenges the same? It's not really worth all of the hassle removing gear and such just to get the mediocre rewards I've been getting for other challenges.

^^ This, exactly.
I really like the challenges, I think they are well done and well executed. But the rewards are so poor that it is not worth the time to do the challenges. I find it more effective to simply play my usual way and then buy what I want for AD. And that makes this event a failure for me. I *want* to like it, but I don't.
You don't have to pickup that task. Continue killing and another task will drop which may be easier to complete.
You do if you want the Champion of the Gods achievement. While the challenges should not be cakewalks, the contortions my character has to go through to complete this are a bit ridiculous. Stripping naked and sitting in a pool of lava, and then finding a mob, while hoping someone else doesn't come along and either kill it or heal you makes this very frustrating.

1. Go to the least populated instance
2. Aggro two groups of mobs
3. Let them bring you to within a milimeter of your HP bar
4. Drink 1 potion (8,500HP healed, most lv60 characters at over 2k HP so 1 potion is less than 50% HP healed)
5. Run around
-- End of Story. So easy.
Stop making excuses. Be a man. If you know something to be broken, stop using it. Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
It is kinda tricky task but i somehow manage to finish it (my Cw has over 1k regen). So today i was doing this Corellon thing when random cleric approached and healed me.
No particular moral in this story. Some tasks are easier for one class while some are easier for another. No poor mechanics, just some different approaches to battles.

I managed to do it when it came up in an instance, by kiting mobs to where I could stand in some plaguefire to get good and hurt and then kite them around some more while remaining in combat the whole time. Very convoluted method, and my only success at Corellon's challenge.
I think I failed more often due to exiting combat than anything. No drive-by heals, but yes, someone would snipe the monster I was trying to not kill and I'd be throw out of combat too soon.

That works for the "Kill 5 enemies while below half health", but would cause you to fail the "Survive 30 seconds while at half health"
