I think the biggest problem, is not so much that the drops are low, as there is the same chance that it will be a good drop .. The problem I think is that you can only do it once a day! So you spend 24hrs waiting for the chance to run the gauntlet (couldn't resist) only to get a bad drop! All that anticipation (like buying flowers for the missus/SO) only to be disappointed at the end of it???
If it were like a skill node that resets after a few minutes and you could try again, it might not be so bad, it'd be a "grind" but at least you'd have more opportunities for a 'good' drop ... As it currently stands though = Wait 24hrs, craft the gauntlets and run the quest = White Pearl ...
I may have agreed with this had they not required so much CAMPAIGN resources. Again the reward is not equal to the investment.

I have been forging Adamantine gauntlets for a few days now and it's definitely a let down. I was getting better drops with my platinum and mithral gauntlets. The gear I couldn't use but at least i got epic items. To go through all this and get a few pieces of blue trash gear to sell for coin and a couple low level enchants is so disappointing. After the weeks of time and effort I guess my expectations were for something worthwhile, now I'm wondering why I did it.

You're looting coffers at the same time as other people, and taking their loot. This means that what you got was not representative of your gauntlet, and somebody else received nothing at all.
Epic gear is *not* in the loot table for anything below adamantine gauntlets. And you should *never* see gear that you can't equip (assuming that's what you meant by "couldn't use", and not just that what you have already is better).
Likewise, rare gear is not in the loot table for adamantine gauntlets, and if you received servitor gear it means that you have taken the loot that somebody else rolled with their mithral gauntlet.
Adamantine gauntlets can produce 2 rank 4 enchants, but nothing below that.

I do all the lair quests alone, have from the beginning, so I have a good understanding of what the loot is. But today I finally received some epic gear on one of my characters with Adamantine level gauntlet. It's very similar to what my other character received today for Platinum level gauntlet. I received Belt of the Thayan Zealot. Not useful to me since it's much lower stats than the belt I already have but at least it's something I can salvage for AD. I also got 1 peridot and a couple rank 4 enchants. So maybe there was a fix slipped into one of these maintenance releases, I don't know but it seems better now. Although they probably need to work on the balance of rewards between the 3 gauntlet levels. But also I now feel that what I received is within any statistical variation of what was intended.
Looting Arcane Coffers since 60 hours into Module 2 (earliest moment possible to have the Adamantine Gauntlet). Still no Eye of the Lathander. Had 2 Peridots for over 15 days in a row, and today a miracle happened: I got an Aquamarine. YES!!!
No, seriously… <removed> such a low drop rate into the Arcane Coffer, although I'm pretty sure it's a bug that I'm not getting it, since everyone else, even those who had the Adamantine Gauntlet 2 - 3 weeks after me, already have it. <removed>
As for me, I'm pissed. Someone else will have to buy those new shiny companions for real money.

I run solo and it was the other day that I finally got something other than Peridots at the Adamantine level, and I've been doing those gauntlets for about 2 or 3 weeks now. And that was a bilethorn shard. Woo @_@.
But, it's free and it doesnt take much time at all to run the dungeons, soooo I'm not going to complain too much. -shrugs-
Ok I'm a moron, in my mind I was combining both chests for my previous comments. When looking at just the loot from the Adamantine Gauntlet chest I am mostly getting 2 peridots (vs. 1) and the occasional Aquamarine. At times it is just 2 rank 4 enchants. While that is nice to get the refining points it seems a bit weak for all the effort and time you put in to get to this level.
