Disappointing rewards for January's CTA?

I look forwards to the CTA events because I really enjoy re-running the lower level Skirmishes with the added challenge of them being scaled up to level 60 and up until now the rewards have made it worth while , even the annoying PitFight that I had to run over 100 times just because the Shadow Wolf mount made it worth while , so I have to say I was quite disappointed when I looked at the calendar for January and saw that this months CTA just reuses the rewards from old CTA events , Cruel Enchantments , Grey Wolf dye packs and the Shadow Wolf .

I really hope that this is a mistake or that if they are the rewards it's a one off , the CTA events up to now have been great with unique companions and mounts but this isn't even worth me running it which makes me sad..

    Mediocre loot is mediocre :(

I kind of like the Cruel Enchantments for certain builds since they're dual stat but with the new refining system it's not worth even bothering getting them since all I ever used to get before were rank 1s and 2s (it was like hitting the lottery if I got a 3 or 4) and I'm not wasting my time upgrading those.

It is probably placeholder text and will updated later with the proper dye and mount/companion.

This. Storm the Keep is a Blackdagger Skirmish so it wouldn't make sense if they released rewards for the Gray Wolf CTA.

The real give-away is "Gray Wolf Tribe" dyes.
Cruel Enchantments I could see dropping again. Shadow Wolves I can see dropping again.

    Gray Wolf Tribe Dyes?
Those only make sense to be dropped in a Vellosk themed event.

I would be less surprised to meet Mystra in person than I would be if those were not a placeholder.

If you read the text, the placeholder thing won't be real. Why they describe pirate-themed weapons, if it's another CTA placeholder???

The Shadow Wolves are specific to Vellosk as well, so I am pretty sure they are not gonna be part of the rewards in this new CTA.
To be honest, I wouldn't mid if the rewards were those in the current description. I would like to have a chance to get the Shadow Wolf on my Ranger, and I am sure many others would like that as well. I wouldn't be thrilled about getting the same dye pack, but I could live with it.
Still, I am curious what the rewards are gonna be.

Because only the last paragraph is a placeholder. Likely because the full reward hadn't been decided when they put up the info for the CTA in the calendar.

With sleds as a mount in the current event, perhaps the next one will feature a pirate's longboat? Being Blackdaggers and all, it could be a skyship version.

I very much doubt that. But if a skyship long boat mount every comes about, it'll barely float off the ground. NW maps aren't designed to allow players to fly around on them.

Forget flying, if wizards could cast "jump" (if that exists in 4e) it would break every quest and dungeon in the game.

Did you ever thought that it might not be a mount? Maybe it's a companion this time, or something completely different. Like a BoP toke that would allow a companion upgrade from green to blue ... yeah right :p. Just saying, it might be something we never got before.
... but seriously, make it a companion upgrade token.

I normally love to bash Perfect World for destroying its customers, but I do respect Cryptic and they would do much better if they ran Neverwinter by themselves, but I digress. I believe it's a place-holder, if not then shame on you Cryptic.

We get the same reward in 2 of the 3 CTAs. So don't be a guy that only make rumors/myths about new rewards. We get that, what is announced. Oh the Winterevent say their rewards weeks ago. Did it changed? NO!

They briefly had placeholder text (e.g. The Thingie) in the Winter Event description, too. I'm certain the last paragraph is a placeholder.

No, no we didn't. First CTA offered Orc themed weapons, Many arrows dye, and the Armored wolf. Second was Helms hold. An offered Teifling weapons, Helmite dye, and the Ghost Paladin. 3rd CTA had the Primal weapons, its own dye, and the shadow wolf. It was the only CTA with a mount.

There has been no repeat of items. Other then the enchantments and even those have bounced between the Cruel and Savage versions.

The only one making rumors here is you. The event rewards have all been unique and themed to each event.

I don't mean the companions/Mounts. I mean the enchantment. So it's the same. Don't guess that any other reward will be given to the announced CTA.

Cryptic isn't in a partnership with PWE. They can't "run it by themselves". Cryptic Studios is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Perfect World Co., Ltd.

You dont honestly expect them to create new enchantments for each and every event do you? In addition to the dye packs, skins, and companions/mounts?

The Cruel and the Savage enchantments do a pretty good job of filling in needs between the default existing 4 enchantments. Anymore would just be unneeded fluff and complexity.

Maybe a Hexer companion? I hope so! Except a few spiders here and there, there is no animal in the blackdagger ruins zone, so it could be one of the NPCs there, and a female companion would be nice for a change.

Except Regeneration, currently no Enchants or Runes give Regen. but that's for another thread ...

As noted above, The text, apart from the theme/location of the event, is the same for both January and February CTA's, so my guess would be placeholder text, either that or they are purposely keeping us in a state of anticipation, forcing us to login constantly to see if it changes ...

Personally, I hope this CTA offers a new companion. I already bought 2 purple mounts, and have no intention of upgrading any single mounts from green to purple. I still find green companions useful, even though most of my characters already have blue or purple ones.

Maybe the elusive Rogue Companion will finally make an appearance? With the Pirate themed event it seems like a good place to drop it ...

Purple mounts and Companions I've got coming out of my ears ATM, with the recent sales, so a new unique companion would be nice, but ... Personally I'm hoping for a new Lockbox, a new Dye kit, and some new Weapon (and Armor ... yes???) Skins

I'm also hoping for a White/Silver/Grey Dye pack with the February event ...

The Helmite dye kit was basically white and silver. I'd like to see some bold colors - deep blues, purples, maybe black or even gold/yellow.

Call me crazy, but I wish they brought back Savage enchants. So far they only existed in the first CTA.
