Aw! I thought i was actually gonna get a chance to get that shadow wolf for my hunter now.

yes, that; It sucked that hunter came out only short after CTA ended!

I very much doubt that. But if a skyship long boat mount every comes about, it'll barely float off the ground. NW maps aren't designed to allow players to fly around on them.
Yeah, I didn't mean actually flying. Just the effect of it like imps or slyphs have.

Forget flying, if wizards could cast "jump" (if that exists in 4e) it would break every quest and dungeon in the game.
Do you work for Bethesda? ;)

Call me crazy, but I wish they brought back Savage enchants. So far they only existed in the first CTA.
They were also in Valindra's Invasion.

    no companion in this one?

We don't know if it will have a companion or a mount as a reward yet because of the placeholder text.

Personally I would like it to go to a token drop reward for the mount/companion. Then you could take it to a vendor (don't have to be in protectors enclave, maybe make you have to go to a zone vendor to get a "type"). Then you could a bit of player customization out of it, let you have some choice, especially since a hunter just recently being put into the game can't possibly get at a shadow wolf, with a token system he could revert and actually get one.

Heck, have a "CTA governing body" if you will, like all sports have a sanctioning body..let the CTA have a vendor/reward state, they want X proof that boss X was killed, you turn in item X (token) to them as proof and they say "good job, have a look at our wares as a reward for helping us out in the emergency"(oh and added incentive to help us out in the future on other emergencies :))

The only drawback with that type of thing is people will put different values on different things ... One person may think the (just an example) Pirate Raider companion is the bees knees, but another may think the (again, example only) Magic Flying Carpet mount is the ducks nuts or the Becs de Corbin Weapon Skin (suggestion Devs???) is just IT! So if each one is say 1 x Kill Token, people will complain that this or that reward is lower/higher value than this/that reward ... If you use a "x number of tokens" pricing structure, we still end up with complaint threads, only this time about how much "grind" is involved to get this or that (Winter festival anyone?) ...

At least with random drops like the CTA's have always had, you just have to be lucky, although a 'slightly' higher drop rate might be nice, we don't want the whole of PE flooded with CTA drop items (imagine seeing 100's of Fawns bouncing about PE? ... then again ...) I just hope they put some serious thought into the items again, the previous CTA's have been reasonable, so I'm confident they will give us something good ...

Well see, thats the point, arn't it!? Different strokes for different folks, some people like to put on a pirate hat and run around Arhhh!!!ing, and other like to get all greyed/blacked up and play the ninja, other like pink bows and school girl uniforms. The "point" I was making is folks could have some customization options other than random drop. The pricing should be uniform (yes complainers will always complain, thinking they are getting the short end of the stick).

But say X mount drop from CTA is 1 mount token. They go the CTA vendor and they have 12 (12 months 12 mounts) to choose from, yes what they like will have a priority to them..but others will have another priority depending on them, the bows and pink skirt set can get their "cute" mount and the piratey set can get theirs. Next time around they get another token drop they will pick their 2nd most desired mount and so on, somewere three will be a stat gathering and the devs will have a real referent to see what the customer base is really digging and they can model to that with future skins.

Same with weapon skins etc etc. really the only controversy is what other MMO have run in to, that is: currency exchange rates.

Currency exchange rates: In their attempt to have this that or the other drop be exchangable for goods from x,y or z npc vendor, MMO go all gung ho on various drops without a view to the future, as the gear gets dated or folks outgrow it's need, the currency gets shunted to their coinage bag and ROTS. When was the last time you needed many arrow orc coins? Once you outgrew the lion tokens, what use were they to you? Well currently the lion tokens aren't tradable nor any of the other "animal" tokens, they just clutter up the bag.

At some point many MMO have to go through a currency/token exchange rate phase and the howls ensue from those that think their xx,y or z is worht more than offered. Personally I think they need to get to that now rather than later, it will only get worse as new content comes in with it's new currency. I think it needs to go like the old enchant system x amount makes next tier, x amount of those likewise next tier and so on.

Think how many currencies have already accrued, every zone has some "currency". Trade bars for the trade bar trader, Asteral diamonds, refined and not. Gold, silver and copper. Animal tokens (lion, unicorn, manticore, drake etc.). Refining items (gems like peridot etc.) and the catalyst items for it. Every "event" like waekeen coins and holiday stuff. Shearidar campaign stuff. Outer ring stuff. Glory currencies..I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but my point is, every new thing they put in has some silly currency with no thought to the eventual currency bag clutter, at some point there will have to be a consolidation, start now and avoid the howls later on. stick to 3 tops and set a exchange vendor somewere, if it needs a tweek then fine do so.

Well looks like predictions were correct. It was just a placeholder.

Rewards as posted on preview indicate Damaran Weapons, Brutal Enchantments, and a Swashbuckler companion. The swashbuckler looks to be a green striker pet.

The sellsword is +power. I'm sure as time goes on, they will start to double up on more of the single stat active bonuses and then the double stats.

i dont think its optimal that we all just ground for 200 def and then now are expected to grind for the same...

Cool , thanks for the heads up Munkey , hopefully they will change them all from now on instead of reusing text from events that have been and gone.
