At the end of the day, I think that a good CW and good HR will compliment each other once they learn to work together.

This :) You can tell where the HRs are in a large room because that's where all the mobs are streaming towards. "FEAR MY MIGHTY AOEs Mobs" "Hey, come back !"

    Enjoy it while it lasts.

Sadly I was not able to notice this effect yet when I ran dungeons with HRs, some very geared.

The **** mobs are still on me or fellow CWs.

I have run with some very good HR's and to me it seems to be about the same damage as a Good CW, however I almost always 5+ Mil ahead on my CW in VT. Although they are PvP speccd Melee Rangers. HR's in their current state may do better DPS in Melee focus.

Experienced well geared CW's should do more DPS the HR's especially in prolonged AOE fights.

What you should realize is that melee HR *is* AoE specced. It's ranged that is more single target specced. So a melee ranger inside the fun of an AS from the CW makes them do a LOT of damage. :)

Yea i mean obviously some things will change with HR's and it will be interesting to see where they land. I've never had anyone outdps my CW in a dungeon save for other CW's just as geared and even then not by much.

I have a melee spec ranger GS 14.8k with PVorpal. I have found that as the OP said, DPS against a Wizard is about even with AOE fights whereas on single target fights the Ranger pulls ahead. However, thats for melee spec not sure about archery spec if its the same. Even in melee spec though you need to keep switching and using ranged aoe attacks to keep the damage up and stack aspect of the serpent.

As for the aggro issue, yes i do tend to pull a huge amount of aggro in this way and it can cause my DPS to lower. I think without having to dodge aggro issues, the DPS would be insane for a geared ranger that knew their class.

I was gonna mention this as well, but you seem to cover it Volt, I love using this combo, and dropping multiple TW's and StS's, Ghost is a must as well as is meditation, third encounter is either Mara or for the hell of it RoA, yes I also have a CW which kills in the dps, but I will say that the HR is fast coming to be be on top even after the Archer Mastery nerf. Wait till the HR's are tweaked a bit more from the players.

Yeah but thats because as Volt said, its a trick. IE. Its a broken mechanic. I don't use broken mechanics then come on forums saying how great my DPS is.

1 DC + 4 HRs = fail at clearing adds fast in VT.
1 DC + 4 CWs = win at clearing adds fast in VT.

They need us more than we need them. :)

both of those lineups are fail.

    Has some truth in it.
While 2-3 CWs are synergizing and supporting each other it cannot be said about more than 1 HR with this high aggro.

Where are you guys finding these HRs and as mentioned in other threads GWFs who are keeping up with CWs in damage? If you're a CW and they keep up with you, then you are doing something incredibly WRONG. I have yet to find a HR that has even hit half my damage total in VT or MC. Then again I've seen CWs, even geared CWs with all rank 7-8 enchants do 1/3rd of my damage, so it must be these guys who the HRs can beat.

There's a huge skill gap between good wizards (i.e. T2 capable when the rest of the group is decent) and great wizards (capable of carrying the whole team wherever they go). Great HRs can beat good wizards, but not great ones.
