Shadowmantle Preview Patch Notes NW.10.20131120a.5

panderuspanderus Member, NW_CrypticDev, Cryptic Developer Posts: 1,007 Cryptic Developer
Audio
  • Many Hunter Ranger powers have received updated audio tweaks.

Classes and Balance
  • Control Wizard: Master of Flame: Class Feature: Swath of Destruction: This Class feature no longer grants its damage bonus to Smolder when not slotted.
  • Devoted Cleric: Anointed Champion: Anointed Army: This power now correctly grants bonus Power to affected targets.
  • Devoted Cleric: Anointed Champion: Feat: Battle Fervor: The tooltip has been updated to note that this feat increases Power by 3/6/9/12/15% of your Power. This is only a tooltip change.
  • Hunter Ranger: Feats: Players may now correctly purchase "Stormcaller's Arrow".
  • Hunter Ranger: Black Arrow Feat now always adds its Crit Severity regardless of your current Crit Severity.
  • Hunter Ranger: Forest Walk Feat no longer stacks its run speed bonus with multiple Rangers.
  • Hunter Ranger: Natures Enhancement Feat received a tooltip update to more accurately reflect the bonus it gives (text change only).
  • Hunter Ranger: Rain of Swords: The bleed on ranks 2 and 3 should now do the correct amount of damage. Additionally the target will no longer play hit FX from the bleed at rank 1 where no bleed is applied.
  • Hunter Ranger: Split Shot: The damage estimate on the power tooltip should be much more accurate now.
  • Hunter Ranger: Thorn Ward has received updated FX and audio, actual damage and effects remain unchanged.
  • Resistances to Knock Back or Knock Down effects now reduces the amount knocked much more consistently.

Content and Environment
  • Dread Ring has received additional environment performance and level of detail adjustments.
  • Several changes to the Lair Quests to prevent edge cases where a character could be ineligible to get a key.
  • The 'Gather your party before venturing forth' rings have been moved farther away from the reward chests in the lairs to prevent accidental venturing before the party has gathered their loot.

Enemies
  • Many Dread Ring enemies have received costume updates.

Gateway
  • Sword Coast Adventures and the Diamond Exchange are disabled for now. We will be releasing them the following weeks after Shadowmantle launches.

Graphics and Performance
  • Resolved several client and server stability issues.

Items and Economy
  • Characters that are level 60 before this Shadowmantle goes live will receive a special in game mail with a bonus Artifact & Enchantment Booster Pack to help them on their way with the new system.
  • Dread Ring armor sets have received numerous costume updates and adjustments for all classes (stats remain unchanged).
  • Dread Servitor items are no longer improperly marked as salvageable.
  • Invocation rewards have been updated to grant a 6 day reward with a focus on Campaign progression and a 7 day reward with a restored chance for Wards that are now Bind to Account.
  • Many Item Refinement Stones now have updated icons.

User Interface
  • It is now allowed to mail Bind on Account items to your other characters such as the updated Coalescent Wards from the Invocation rewards.
  • There is now a 'Travel to Thay' overworld transition when moving to a location in Thay itself. No dotted lines or red Xs at this time.

Preview will be updated within a few hours or so.

Also, I am still working on getting the previously omitted patch notes from the .2. They will be updated here as well as the old thread.

UPDATE: Please see the missing patch notes I unintentionally omitted from the previous build below/

You really should have looked closer. There was a big topic on this, this past week about it with the big uproar. The devs said in this topic that it was going to be bind to account.

Also to the Devs, what is going on with the Seismic bug, still no patch notes on this. Zones are getting unplayable cause of this bug.

Where have you been for the past two weeks? That discussion alone practically melted the forums, Twitch, Twitter, probably Facebook.... :)

Great aside from the whole "stats remain unchanged" part :P

Not to be rude about it, but what's the purpose in updating the costumes for these armor sets if the likelihood of anyone wanting to use them is nil (e.g. Devoted Cleric)? At best they'll be relegated to glorified transmutation items, just like the Fabled Iliyanbruen sets mostly are.

Some nice tweaks all around, too bad the proposed GF TAB-change didn't make it. I really hope we'll be getting a closer look before the 5th.

    So awesome!

Please expand this to numerous other items!

For instance DD Chest Drops should be BoA until equipped.
Companions should be BoA even if equipped.
The Reinforced Gauntlets should be BoA.
    CTA Rewards should be BoA.
Non-Zen Store Mounts (Lockbox mounts) should be BoA.

    Please please, pretty please? :D

Still no fix to the Respec issue, so no testing of the new PPs or alternatives for the HR.
    Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin
    Obsidian Oath - Warlock
A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.

I have been trying to sneak these sorts of things in ever since the shard merge a while back. Sadly we have been crunching and really focused on getting Shadowmantle out. Don't want to feature creep too much. It is something we are actively tracking to get in where relevant and safe. There are lots of implications to these changes we need to think about and plan.

Well if you reading this aspect of lone wolf is not working respecting powers on preview dose not work rain of arrows need a slightly larger radius tbh making it dmg faster really isn't making it attractive to use. its need a radius equivalent to Split they sky or a lil bigger but equal to.

Don't know about a Split the Sky diameter for Rain of Arrows, but it certainly needs to be about 1.5-2x its current diameter. Firing faster is helping however, though I still dumped it like a hot rock when I could get Thorn Ward. Stupidly hard power to use effectively vs simple to use power both with similar effects; I know which one I'm going to use.

That said it seems the duration of Grasping Roots has been shortened, making a bad class feature worse.

Hmm. After this update, whenever I try to enter the preview takes a "crash error". This only occurs with my gwf that is currently in sharandar. the ranger in different place, goes normally.

If lockbox mounts/companions become account bound, that will kill any reason I had to purchase keys. Why have it if I don't want to use it and can't sell it at the AH?

I think the request was to make an equipped one account-bound and not character-bound, not to make them BoAoP, so to speak.

    I think you mean BoAoE
This mean bind to account after equipping

    I don't know what I mean!

    I'll break it down.
ambisinisterr posted that he'd like lockbox mounts, etc. to be account-bound.
silentraven72 posted that if that were implemented, he'd have no reason to open boxes, not being able to sell the grand prizes.

I think ambi meant that he'd like equipped mounts to be transferable around your account... so they'd be account-bound once equipped, not once picked up. That's what I was trying to express.

Though it isn't clear from ambi's phrasing. Maybe he does object to people selling the lockbox mounts. If so, I vehemently disagree, because I see no problem with someone who wants it opting to buy the mount outright over buying potentially hundreds of chances at it and still being at the mercy of RNG. I recently bought a pseudodragon because I *really* wanted one... not to gamble on it, to actually have it, to hug it and squeeze it and call it Drake.

Only problem with this is that the major hurdle to advancing our artifacts are the "blue" quality marks, not the green.
