Inventory Tab for Mounts: Round 2

[Deleted User][Deleted User] Posts: 0 Arc User
edited November 2013 in General Discussion (PC)
I started a thread on getting an Inventory Tab for Mounts a while ago - the thread went well, but we didn't get it. So, I'd like to start another one.

We need an Inventory Tab for Mounts because even with the largest bags, and multiple Bank Slot upgrades, there are too many mounts to be stored.

I'd like to purchase 90% of the mounts available from the Zen Store, but I CANNOT sacrifice my inventory space or bank space for these mounts. I'd like to suggest that we get an Inventory Tab for Mounts, so we can have a place for our mounts that won't take up inventory space or bank space. If possible, please make it like the Companion Inventory Tab - fairly simple.

Feedback is welcome!

Love the idea and fully support it. Just call it "The Stable." :)

Just to play a bit of a devil's advocate here - how would people feel about paying, say, 200 zen for a bank tab for mounts? Say about 12 slots? It's not an obscene amount, but it's also not something that everyone wants / needs, either.

    And yes, I'd pay it...

i would also like a mount tab, but moreso for acquired mounts that i cannot discard and reclaim at either the reclaim agent or from the zen store. that would include any lockbox won mounts and event acquired mounts. i'm not sure if it'd be fair to charge for it... as it is, i can currently store them in my bank slots ("here piggy... into the bank vault you go... you're... not... HEAVY... GOOD... GRACIOUS...") but it's obviously taking up valuable space. but that said, 200z isn't a lot either.

I'd prefer it not be a bank slot. An inventory slot so that you can swap mounts on the fly while you're out in the wild is more the way to go.

200 zen wouldn't be too bad. I could generate the AD's to purchase 200 zen without too much effort. So I doubt I'd grumble over it.

Mount Tab would be great. Its not to bad yet. But I expect them to keep adding mounts. And we'll keep collecting. Will need something eventually.

More like round 30... Much like a Fashion Tab, "The Stables" have been requested since Day1 of Alpha.

Still holding hope for these though as I know the Devs stated at various times they had stuff like this in their "TO DO" log, but on the low bucket list.

This is greatly needed. As a collector myself, this is one of the reasons I do not buy more Mounts.

    One word: DITTO.
Plain and simple. Z-Store Mounts are Account-wide, reasonably-priced (most, anyway) and fun to collect. I'd buy more (looking forward to that Hell Hound and Apperatus coming our way eventually) and so on. But I don't want to have to run to the bank whenever I want to switch-out. I want to keep them at the local livery (meaning my on-character inventory) so I can choose and switch on the fly depending on my mood.

Fortunately the new Enchantment upgrading system (in Module 2) will help alleviate inventory to some degree, it's still not enough. We *need* a special place for mounts. Until then - not gonna buy any more. ~shrug~

. . . . . Yeah, I agree Angry. I'd love to be able to use all my mounts for different and even role-playing reasons. Yet I am hampered because they each take up valuable bag and bank space. I end up deleting the ones I can reclaim and sticking to one mount per character, usually. Which I do not like doing. I'd buy more mounts for sure, if I could store them without heeding my inventory and bag space. Unfortunately, some mounts just aren't reclaimable to they permanently take up much needed bag/bank space.

The reason id like an inventory tab versus a bank tab, is so I can readily swap between mounts on the go. I like to swap mounts out a lot, always changing. This wouldn't be feasible if they were in a bank.

This has been the main reason i have stopped buying mounts. I love collecting them but have moved to companion hording for now since there is no room for any more mounts. Set it up like the companion tab and Im the kind of person that would buy slots to store extra mounts. If you did that though , zen store mounts would have to include a slot for the mount purchased. No way would I pay 30-40$ and then shell out another 5-10$ for a slot.

I'm not a huge collector of them, but I can definitely see this being a needed asset for the game. Same for a fashion tab. Would it be something I'd be willing to purchase. Ehh... that's price dependent and on the amount of slots you would get.

Having a starter bag that held maybe 5 - 10 mounts for free. Then having to purchase more slots vis-a-vis the bankslot model would seem win-win ish to me for both sides of the party.
    contents to be decided

I would say just make bound mounts go into the same tab as companions. Idle companion slots aren't terribly expensive and it takes quite a lot of collecting to fill the 16 free slots anyway, but sticking mounts in there would probably push more units of the slots, and be a relatively easy implementation of (semi-)dedicated mount bag space.

i support this idea, not so much the inventory tab, but make it like the companion tab in your character menu with so many active mounts and the rest stored in your inactive "stable"

    >.> kinda makes me wish for player housing (unrealistic i know) where we could go and store all our stuff, mannequins to drop armor and fashion clothes on for display, weapon plaques, etc. etc. (a girl can dream can't she? /sigh )

Months ago Cryptic/PWE had a Twitch streamer on with them during one of their livestreams. The idea was proposed as it had been in the forums and the moderator for Cryptic said it was a great idea and even took the time to write it down.
I can only assume that it's still in the works as a possibility.

If implemented, i'd suggest the number of mount slots be a minimum of 12, then charge whatever for increases.

For upgrades, each upgrade I'd like to suggest, have an extra 4 mount slots.

I have twelve mounts and counting, I am fully in support of this idea. Frankly I'd also like to see a tab called "Closet" for all of one's Fashion wear...I don't know about anyone else but I could easily fill a bag with nothing but that.

    Also a great idea!

I would say that encouraging people to spend more money on mounts (and not having them clogging up your inventory is encouragement, to a greater or lesser degree) is worth it on it's own.

I would say at least a 6 slot 'stable' accessible in the field for free (a tab on inventory like for money, profession materials, and companions), and then options to purchase a larger stable (add more slots).

Maybe a basic expansion (6 more slots) for 200 Zen and a double expansion (12 slots) for 350.

Well said. I have considered buying cool new mounts, but don't want to
have my others gathering dust in the bank. I'd like to switch them around
with my mood, like when I swap companions or between the 2 costume pages.

I don't even have more than two mounts on any character nor have I the money to buy more, and I still support this. Gives people a reason -- and encouragement -- to have more than one mount.

I wholeheartedly agree that we need a mount tab. I just dont have the room to buy the mounts on the zen store even though I would like to have a few of them (along with some of my event mounts).

12 slots would work fine for me and they could even add in 6 additional slots for 100 zen each time. That seem reasonable to me

I also want to see a fashion tab with the same idea because all those cosmetic items take up quite a bit of inventory

Or... give everyone a base 3 mount slots, plus additional ones as part of any packs that they buy, (like Knight of the Feywild). They could also add a straight "extra mount storage slots" item for a certain amount, for people that need more than the 3 base slots, but don't want to buy any of the packs.

This is a cool idea. Give people bonus mount slots for purchasing upgrade packs like Founders, and Feywild.

+1 to having both a free "Mount Tab" and a free "Fashion Tab" enabling adventurers to change on the fly.

(already have max greater bag of holdings, max 96 bank slots, plus a personal tab in our guild bank)

Just an update; Sominator on stream with his Hour has addressed this issue as they are aware and very happy everyone wants to collect mounts, and they are looking through the possibilities of how to have mounts more accessible.

Check the latest stream archive, 25-30 minutes in (when it's over) for exact wording.
