Is there no skill in knowing what gear to use? For example, Tranquils are garbage and that GWF would be dead reall fast against players that know better. I know it can seem unfair, but I say that gearing involves skill in the same way that playing in the match does. Also, Crytic would never do this. A lot of players, including myself would be looking for a refund on my hundreds of dollars spent on PvP gear So find a new solution.
The TS is right most of the balance issues are caused by enchants and not gear. PVP games would be alot funner but PW would lose alot of money because of the PTW whales.

You say gearing involves skill...then you turn around and say you spent hundreds...
Come with a better argument if you want to remain supreme and preach that it is all about skill.

So you see no issue with me loading up some hacks and aim bots and other things to give me an advantage then...I mean they are all out there...and once I bbqpwn you I can shout from the roof tops that I am the MOAST SKILLD PLAYA EVA!!!
It is the same thing on a different level. You can't talk about skill when you have such an advantage against your opponent.
You paying for it is fine. Someone taking longer to earn gear is fine. Just don't go all emmo like some of these folks who think they are elite just because they have a huge advantage.
No, there is no skill in choosing gear. You just need to do a quick search for a min/max build and follow the template.
Not being rude...just wanted to point out your faux pas.
P.S. I already have every T2 set, glory set and GG set.. I have no issues with PVP or PVE.
I just like to see both sides of a disagreement.

There's no skill on what gear to use at all since there are forums with helpful people that already did all the theorycrafting. A simple post, and a few hours later you have a shopping list.
All you gotta do is amass the AD and buy, enchant and equip the gear.
No skill required AT ALL besides forum posting and AH shopping.

Skill is important in PVP. But it's not all there is to PVP.
There's player build, party build & synergy, team strategy, communication, etc.
There's also gear. In this game, we are rewarded for our ability to earn AD. This reward comes in the form of gear/enchants that we can use to best opponents in PVP.
It takes all of these for a team to be dominant in PVP.
With that said, if you want to avoid the aspect that rewards us for our AD-earning effort and time, then use the test server and/or find like-minded people.

Cryptic, want to separate skill from PVP without nerfing what people paid for and not have to rewrite alot of code?
disable ALL enchants during PVP... and I mean all!
And you've instantly nerfed all the enchants that people paid for...

Okay so we all agree on a few things...
But here is what I would like to see.
1) We need to be able to join pre-made
I would like to add, by ranking only (Fear Score). Why? Because that will also eliminate grievers from doing the "I'm bored let's go **** PUGs... which I have been guilty of"
2) Add a gear-only PVP mode (no enchants work)
3) Add a "nekkit" mode (you fight in all T1 or T2 stuff from the shops... all in same gear)
4) True Ranking System in all the above categories

A lot of people don't do the work to figure that out though and just slap on whatever they think should be good without doing any research or testing. Research will only get you so far though. Variations in spec require variations in gear to remain optimal, and some specs necessitate specific equipment sets to support them well. As your stat balance changes, the relative benefit of stats also change and that's not something you can just look up easily. You have to model it yourself to get the right answer for YOU which requires an understanding of the underlying mechanics.
Some stats that are similar at first glance are difficult to compare equivalently such as defense and deflect due to differences in how they affect survivability; even moreso when you take into account Fey Thistle and racials. Other stats are better for certain situations and can be used to compliment or supplement a player based on what classes they are better or worse at taking on.
There's actually a lot of skill involved in gearing well. The best players will be able to talk your ear off about why they are using specific pieces of equipment and the enchants they are using; synergies with skills and other stats etc.. and how it ties into their play style. Worse players will not be able to do this. This is no coincidence.
What most people see as a player gear disparity is not just a simple case of more stats versus fewer stats. A lot of highly geared players are using their equipment much more effectively due to having a better understanding of the underlying mechanics and how gear affects their own play style.

I know people with better gear than me that didn't pay for it O.O I just hate PvE so I bought my way out.
The point is CHOOSING what gear to use man. Also, being rude is not called for.
Watch this crazy concept: Hit level 60, get glory gear, join a DD guild, get T2 gear, keep doing DD, sell that gear, get enchants, repeat O.O
