It's starting to look like they won't be moving it this year, but I'm not surprised...

Please. Please move it somewhere else next year - like OUTSIDE the MM where it's part of PE. And please, never, ever put something like this in the Mask again.

Just heard the WONDERFUL news that the Halloween event vendor is going to be in the Moonstone as well... I think we're noticing a pattern here! That pattern being that all of the event vendors will be there from now on... and more importantly, that Cryptic clearly doesn't give a #$#*&$ about the RP community!!

I know you don't want to listen to us, Cryptic, but you should... because we, the RP community, are the ones investing actual money into this thing. Cosmetic outfits, dyes, all the things you buy with Zen... do you think the average hack-and-slasher cares one bit about that? We are the ones buying them, and more importantly, we are the ones who are going to stick around. I hope you realize that these hack-and-slashers will just move along when the next shiny thing catches their attention... *cough* Elder Scrolls Online *cough* ... but those of us who are a part of the RP community, who have a genuine interest in roleplaying here, will be the ones who stay.

YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO US. Do NOT put the vendors in the Moonstone! Or, at the very least... give us someplace else for unified roleplay if you're going to steal that away from us! Every other zone has multiple instances, so walk-in RP is literally impossible. The Moonstone Mask was the one place people could walk in and instantly be in the same zone, and the RP was the only reason to go there... making it the roleplay hub. So if you're going to screw us over like this, please at least give us SOMETHING!

The devs don't give a @#~#€;@ about the RP community?
You can toggle walk/run (some MMO's don't even have that)
    you can write emotes
you can create a foundry specific for the ambience you're looking for and join with your party.
RPers in this game have LOTS of things that RPers from other games would kill for, so please be grateful of what you have.
That doesn't mean you can't ask for more, but saying that cryptic doesn't care about you is really unfair.

There's an NPC you have to meet in the Mask for the event, so yes, there will be an NPC there. (It was said on the Neverwinter stream earlier.)

Also, I'd much rather the RP be in the Driftwood Tavern (or any other tavern in the adventure zones) as the Moonstone Mask doesn't fit everyone's character. I can see @sockmonkey's reasoning very well.

The Moonstone Mask is now multi-instanced, so walking in and finding RP isn't going to happen much. This is the case for most of the places. If you're in the RP channel you can ask if anyone wants RP and find the right instance though.

In all seriousness though, the RPers of this game have dwindled down to a small bunch and in the case of some people who've come here specifically looking for RP, they've essentially declared it to be dead as they can't find the RP. No one openly RPs out in the Enclave, I've never seen anyone openly RPing in adventure zones. Everyone seems to be looking for some safe place to RP out of the way of everyone else. Perhaps the RP community can come up with something to have their RP without getting in the way. You're a creative lot, you can come up with something, no? In the meantime, it looks like the NPCs in the Mask are going to be a staple now.

To RP in Protector's Enclave is quite difficult, due to all the Gold Spammers and the general idiocy that goes on in Zone chat. So if anyone does RP in PE, it will in a private channel that you wouldn't see. Rping in dungeons can be done if you hook up with other RPers. The zones do require a bit of coordination, and is most likely done in private channels to avoid endless interruptions, so those RP events you also most likely not see.

The Neverwinter Nights 1/2 community would happily build you and your fellow nwo roleplayers your own dream server, assuming one of the existing servers didnt meet your needs.
I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

Nice try but I did watch the stream. I was there from the beginning and there was nothing about a npc in the mask for the event. Nice try tho.

I am a hack-and-slasher and I love customization and I pretty sure most players do. I know that from the million threads all around the forum. What I am trying to say is that not only RP's invest real money in the game. However, I hope they will find another place for the upcoming event, not only for RP's sake, but I find it a pain to get in and out of there all the time.
That being said, I would really like to see some roleplaying... just a little curious. But I guess I'll have to wait till after the Halloween event now.

http://www.twitch.tv/perfectworld_community/b/474465857 Wait, what's this? Please raise your volume and listen closely at around 8:25. What did he say? "You need to head into Moonstone Mask, there's a certain person you need to meet..."

I idle in the RP channel there's been no mention of a zone wide private channel, and that's actually what I was going to suggest, if people would be inclined to do so. As it stands though, many players, I believe would prefer face to face interaction as Neverwinter's chat doesn't quite allow for large paragraph roleplaying that some of us love and enjoy from time to time. I'm guessing that it's mostly RP guilds that employ such things as opposed to the RP channel where most RPers are.

    Aaaand, they did it again...

The Moonstone Mask had only just started to calm down after the Waukeen event, and Rollplayers were starting to use it again, and now they put a new NPC in there to push us all out again.

Where exactly are we supposed to rollplay? Or is roll playing now just unwelcome in a DnD game...

    :/

Head to the Sage's shop on Tymora road (at least I Think its on tymora's road). There's some good lore in there if you haven't grabbed it yet and is an isolated place that I never see ANYONE in. Perfect for rp ;3

Except its not perfect, because it follows the instance of protectors enclave, meaning that there are about 25 different sage's shops, so if I go in there, the chances of being in the same one as other roll players is slim.

The reason people used the moonstone mask is because it was a single instance. I go there and I will meet everyone else who went there.
