I noticed the other thread but since I have a different opinion I am starting a new one. I feel there should not be a penatly for leaving PVP at this time for the following reasons.
1. Lack of Quality Matchmaking. (examples 1 team has avg gear score of 13.9k other has 10.2) And this happens often.
2. Bots
3. Lag on Maps (GG specifically)
The bottom line. I would think those that value PVP would want a challenge and not a windfall each and every match. If your good, then you should be able to prove so against other like geared teams. Lower geared players grow tired of getting their BLANK pushed in non stop by premades.
So until quality matchmaking is implimented I say no penalties. Unless you just enjoy trolling noobs and low geared players then you need to push for it.
Sadly, there would be no PVP based on Gearscore, if that happens there would be no reward for people who geared up to do just that.. Human nature ... and Crytic would not allow it, the day that happen ppl will no longer care about GS and that would be bad news for Cryptic/PW profit.

We do want a challenge, but that can't happen when there is an instant leaver or 2 (or 5...) every single game. Yes we need matchmaking and bot banning, but TBH I almost prefer bots nowadays b/c at least they don't leave and make me sit and waste 10 minutes for score to tick up.
If you DC you can now rejoin (I have even rejoined and collected my rewards when I dc'd near the end and the match was already over when I reconnected) so you wouldn't get hit by a leaver penalty. If you only PvP for the daily AD then that's fine, but you should at least have to participate and not leave to recieve it. Is there any other daily that you can afk during and recieve the benefit?
So I think the leaving penalty should be no daily and no glory for X hours when you leave, cause it seems the people that are doing the leaving are the daily grinders.

The daily grinders leave BECAUSE they cannot score 500! which is hard for some classes, specially when you are getting steamrolled!
under 500= no completion of daily!
now why is it that cap is not removed and make it so you always minimum get 100 glory or so
also why don't they make glory useful for something other than buying a few epics and salvage for 6k astral?
make it so 4000 glory can buy rank 5 enchants!
or better a viable and better pvp set for 7500 a piece!
then people would not quite!
so to sum up how to fix this quitter system
1: remove the stupid 500 cap that makes people leave due to no payoff! (this is not to be mistaken for me want easy loot) everyone in this game wan'ts to better themself doing something where their is no payoff is no fun!
2: improve the rewards! this would make more people do pvp!
3: balancen it (this is hard and takes forever so stick to number 1, 2)
All the MMo's I have played have the same problem (WoW not in Arenas, but yes in battlegroudns) if someone makes a premade with high gear you're just screwed, too bad. Still you get a penalty for leaving. Do we get some kind of rating here in pvp? if not, then I don't see why it's different here and should not give a penalty for leaving.
I find it much more annoying to have half of my group leave than to fight against tougher oponents.

That is complete misinformation. You get 1 toward your daily even if you never step foot outside of your spawn. Yes you need at least ~500 points to get glory but even if you're against a full premade they will generally let you cap for your points np (my guild always does) They want a challenging match, not to just steamroll pugs, that simply isn't fun.
If you took the time to type something like "hey I just need 500 points" you will more than likely be granted those points 90% of the time. Everyone just has that "OMG premade!" /leave personality instead of actually trying, or better yet discussing and doing 1v1's to better yourself. That's what I did before I joined a PvP guild to get better.

Fix for leavers/afk/hiding in spawn:
1. Penalty for leaving.
2. AFK players or players hiding in spawn are kicked from PVP completely and hit with the penalty for leaving.
3. PVP match counting toward the Daily reward based on amount of points earned like Glory. (Optional and the minimum should be 300 which is one point being capped.)
Tera does this already and the penalty is a 14 minute ban from queuing for anything. This means the player with the penalty can not queue for PVP or a dungeon for 14 minutes. It will handle the issues of leavers and hiding/afk in spawn. Some players want no penalty and some a very harsh one so a 14 minute one is reasonable.
Fix for rest:
1. Make PVP raise players to 60 and change the gear to PVP gear when a player enters pvp but have only similarly level players in the pvp match. This means lvl 50 players fighting lvl 50 players and not lvl 50 players fighting lvl 60 players. Then have the level/gear revert back when player leaves PVP. Done in Tera but all the levels are mixed together and you have lower level players fighting level 60 players with all their powers unlocked/upgraded.
2. Ban bots. I agree with Cribstaxxx the bots are in some ways better than several of the current players because bots do not leave or hide in spawn.
3. Currently no fix or idea of a fix because its not just Neverwinter that that has an issue of lag.
All this is done in other games successfully.

The only thing i honestly want are new maps and modes for pvp. If they would only let the players design PVP maps and modes with the foundry system this game would be not so boring as it is now.
The only thing the need to fix is the **** match making system... how can u carry a team when they are all sub 8K gs fresh 60 that has no exp in how to play PVP let alone how to play their class.
I have seen a cw get killed by a GF with 10% HP and that GF is not even that gear since I was fighting him and took him from 100% to 10% no soulforged no Ferocious Reaction what so ever and our CW die to that GF from full health. I instant quit after that.

What they really need, are two different pvp type matches.
1) for the daily
2) for people and guilds who wish to pvp.
the daily pvp would get u just that, your daily reward. no glory issued. Glory is for pvp'ers, not for those just wanting the daily AD's.
The real pvp matches would get better glory rewards. Perhaps a flat fixed glory amount for winning for everyone on the team, and a much lesser glory award for the entire losing team. Award glory based on the team winning, and not how u did individually. This would spark those who pug these pvp matches, to better understand strategies. It will no longer be about individual pts, but the team point total at the end.
Have a subset version of this where premade v premade can enter in challenge amounts. a Deposit is made by all players, and the winners receive that amount. Say u choose the 100,000 AD match. Each member must pay 100k AD to enter the match. Winning team receives the losers share. Losers get a tissue <actual item>
There is simply so much they could do to improve pvp in this game and keep people interested. They just need to think outside the box.
Also. With the two different pvp match types <daily AD pvp and actual pvp> they need to revamp the new pvp with actual decent rewards. 100k glory buys u this title or item or enchant. Win 500 pvp matches grants u this title. ect, etc. <add any or all existing items>
Separating the pvps will not fix every problem, but will solve the daily AD pvpers crying about how they get roll stomped. Nothing is perfect, but let the true pvpers have their own matches.

Great ideas to your post frost but do not even bother calling the one for Daily PVP. Call it being awarded for standing around. That is what several players do when they queue for PVP only for the daily. I am sick of the afkers and the ones who hide in spawn while their team gets destroyed. New maps are even a great idea as well and a better matchmaking system has already been suggested.

Lol but then both teams would just agree to let one team 3 cap and then they would all sit afk for their daily AD. The point is you are receiving AD for completing a PvP daily, there should have to be some PvP involved...
I can't complete foundry, dungeon, or GG dailies without attending and participating in foundry, dungeon, and GG now can I? Now with the Neverember daily as well you can get 12k AD for 2 PvP matches every 5 days or so, that's pretty nice. If they made you lose your daily (including neverember daily if you had it) when you leave a match it would cut down on leaving a lot. There would be 0 leavers on neverember daily day, I would be doing PvP matches all day cause I know they would be quality games without leavers =P

A match-making system based on gear is going to be worthless if players still leave or hide in spawn. All the issues in PVP should be fixed and not just the players who show up to lvl 60 PVP under geared. players should look at the bigger picture instead of just one issue.

A penalty for leaving is the biggest knee-jerk, dumb-*** solution I have ever heard for a solution to the PvP problem.
The most simple solution is a 10k GS over-under. It would save those of us who absolutely get screwed by that jerk who joins with a 6500 GS.
A slightly more complex solution is three divisions. 6-8.999k, 9-12k, 12-15k. Gear locked upon entry.
Ok so say teams are matched up exactly how you said. One of the two teams is still going to be winning, why is someone who left because they weren't winning before now suddenly going to stay just because he knows the winning team has a similar gear score? He's still losing and it's not going to matter to him since there's no penalty so he will leave just the same as before.
The only and I mean ONLY way to stop people from leaving matches is a harsh penalty, something to the effect of losing your daily and your glory gain for 24H.

I think locking them out of pvp matches for around 15 mins is enough. I've played other MMO's with penalties like that and most people don't ragequit nearly as much.
Without a doubt, they should be implementing multiple divisions for arena, multiple game types such as CTF and Deathmatch, multiple new maps or let players create maps in foundry, some mid-scale pvp of 10v10 to stand next to GG, and some open world matches to let us roam in. And personally, I'd like to see them in that order.

My only worry is if there's enough people to fill in queues on so many different pvp events, specially if we divide by gear level. if there's enough people to fill them all in then I think it's a great idea.
I would love to have more pvp types, specially grab the flag, it's always good fun. (And by good fun I mean smashing the keyboard while loudly screaming BLEARRGHH!!! when my team is losing) n.n

Big problem.
Many ppl's archive max lvl by power leveling in 2-3 day's.
These ppl's are realy s..... have no AD to buy good stuff ,running in green and blue gear .
Its enugh to get frome them 2 in your team and the mach is lost or you got 1 power lvl +1 bot.
I have ultimate tactic to defend with dc + gf but can't hold 5 ppl (good ppl).
And if i told the newcoming n.....bs to go and capture they only want to prove they are big strong lvl60 player and die -ing ower 30 times and leave.
I don't know what can be done here GS is not the solution.
The new comers are terribel undergraded (they spent all ad on key's) and after they can't archive nothing. They leave the game.
PVP gear is too s.... to say its a acceptability gear and most of them have only pvp gear or worst.
I have noticed longer and longer Q for d.pvp .
Less ppl or too much GWF and TR ? Whats the proble whats the soulution for this.

I have 1 idea to devs ,
Make new pvp T2 instance to achive new goal New stuff make it gs oriented min 11k gs.
Maybe old players go to new insta to gain better stuff and don't kill the harmless Evok's.
Make new PVP jewel sett(the best in game hard to gain ,need ower 100k for 1 peice or more raise the insigna cap to 100k ).

Remember that any PvP-only content is going to automatically cut out a percentage of the playerbase. If your anti-pvp, you see yourselves as the majority of players. If your pro-pvp, you see those as the majority of the pvpers. But one way or another, it's going to be hard to argue for something that few might experience.

ok so here's a scenario. i just leveled up a TR to 60 and i'm trying to pvp for the daily and to work towards the T1 set... i have a few epic pieces but mostly blues and two green. when i first started playing this game, glory rewards were decent even if you lost... but then bots would flood the game and just sit there in the spawn area. so rewards were lessened and required that you at least get some points to get anything at all. if i'm put into a game with a bunch of vorpal/regen/HV/soulforged individuals, i'm going to get my HAMSTER handed to me. at best, i might survive by stealth but maybe i can get 300 points if i go and hit the home cap first. so after doing this a few times, i figured this isn't happening. more often than not, i am still in the game and still trying to win the match but i walk away with zero rewards.
so... my resolve is i'm going to stop pvp'ing for glory and i'll only do it for the daily with this character. i might fight and i might sit there. but i can get GG T2 gear faster than i can the T1 pvp gear.
this is why a number of players have issues with pvp the way it is now. there should be better matchmaking options. if you invested and geared yourself up to be invincible, where is the challenge in beating up players in sub-standard gear? why wouldn't you want to play others at your gear level? at least then, your success would be based on your skill and not how your greater/perfect enchants are giving you an advantage.
** it doesn't make sense that only after i gear up, i can earn the glory to get T1 gear that i'm not going to want once i'm able to get it **
that said, i hope cryptic considers it. pvp isn't the end all-be all for me so if it doesn't happen, it's not a big deal.
if you invested and geared yourself up to be invincible, where is the challenge in beating up players in sub-standard gear?
THIS X1000. I do not understand this mindset. To me, this mindset isn't about winning a PVP match, it's about beating people up.
anyway, as a PvE player who plays PVP for the daily and wants glory to get gear that can be salvaged, what I do is: (1) run immediately to home base, (usually) get 300 pts; then (2) run to enemy home base, (sometimes) get 300 pts. If (1) or (2) fails on first attempt, then keep doing it until you've got a minimum of 500 pts. Then you can enjoy yourself a bit and try to fight at point 2.

I don't find better action base combat scheme in other mmo's.
It's perfect to pvp even a single handed 5 year guy can play nw you have to push 3 key's 2 for daly's +1 tab option .

It makes sense to do PVP as you level so you build up the glory to buy the T1 gear when you get to level 60. Trying to get glory to get the T1 gear after you already hit lvl 60 is a waste of time. That is why there is a quest at lower levels to introduce you to the battlemaster and doing pvp is available. Too many players do not think ahead and show up to lvl60 pvp in blue/green gear. It would be different if regular Domination PVP was limited to only lvl 60 players but its not and lower level players can fight with/against players near there same level if they do it as they level.

so you're saying i'm doing it wrong?
i know there are some people that focus entirely on pvp but i enjoy the pve aspect of the game... as well as pvp when it's an actual challenge. and some people level up doing solely pvp. where is the rulebook that says i have to work towards glory as i make my way up to level 60 rather than work towards glory after i hit level 60? if it was "designed this way" why do so many people seem to miss that "fact"?
i was thinking about the idea concerning glory and the introduction of pvp domination around level 10. what if pvp and pve balances were separate and you had to level up in pvp just like you do in pve? then it would make more sense that you have to start earning glory at an earlier pvp level to get your pvp gear. and then specific levels are required for you to utilize higher ranked enchants... what if there were pvp companions? enhanced mounts? of course, this is all definitely a pipe dream as they couldn't really grandfather this in. but it would be interesting.

In my opinion, yes you did it wrong even if there is no rule book because there is a quest at lower levels to introduce you to PVP so it makes sense that the devs wanted you to be able to do PVP at lower levels. There would be no quest and PVP would be limited to lvl 60 otherwise. I have no idea why some people miss it and some do not miss it. I have no idea why you expected to be able to survive in PVP with blue/green gear when the game does not have a matchmaking system based on gear. I have no idea why you made a QQ post after dying when you had blue/green gear.
Level doing PVP solely? No, I never said it or suggested it. A player should do a mix of PVP and PVE as they level so they are preparing for level 60 by having enough glory to get the T1 PVP Domination gear which is starter epic gear for lvl 60. Honestly I would buy the T1 gear for you if the stupid devs had not made it BOP. I use to buy the T1 gear for guild mates who didn't do PVP because they hated it or made the same mistake. Now I just use glory for salvage.

Great idea about leveling up PVP domination separate from PVE. The main reason a player should never solely do PVP to level is the game is designed to remove quests when a player out levels them. This means if a players levels up using only PVP or Foundry they miss some story line quests. I personally think it is awful design after playing Tera because in Tera you do not out level the story line quests which means you can get to lvl 60 and still do lower level story line quests. I honestly have no idea why people find it difficult doing a combination of PVP and PVE to level, get glory, and get beginner T1 PVP gear for lvl 60. Doing PVP for glory to prepare for lvl 60 and PVE as a player levels is called planning ahead. I did it easily and other players have done it easily. You should concentrate on GG gear instead of PVP Domination if your goal is the gear after you already hit lvl 60.
Note: I honestly think the T2 PVE gear is better than the GG for my play style. It all depends on how you play the game and your play style.

Me too! One more tip if you buy green's from the beginning (more then enugh for pvp and pve on erly lvl's) then you can sell your blue gear for ad .At lvl60 you have more then 800k(if you dont spend it all for l.box) + you can buy full pvp t1 sett + wep& off h.

We are definitely dominating, and we are always about to win.
We are definitely dominating, and we are always about to win.
There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)
I have seen a cw get killed by a GF with 10% HP and that GF is not even that gear since I was fighting him and took him from 100% to 10% no soulforged no Ferocious Reaction what so ever and our CW die to that GF from full health. I instant quit after that.

I would love to have more pvp types, specially grab the flag, it's always good fun. (And by good fun I mean smashing the keyboard while loudly screaming BLEARRGHH!!! when my team is losing) n.n
Sorry for bad eng.
But one way or another, it's going to be hard to argue for something that few might experience.

so... my resolve is i'm going to stop pvp'ing for glory and i'll only do it for the daily with this character. i might fight and i might sit there. but i can get GG T2 gear faster than i can the T1 pvp gear.
this is why a number of players have issues with pvp the way it is now. there should be better matchmaking options. if you invested and geared yourself up to be invincible, where is the challenge in beating up players in sub-standard gear? why wouldn't you want to play others at your gear level? at least then, your success would be based on your skill and not how your greater/perfect enchants are giving you an advantage.
** it doesn't make sense that only after i gear up, i can earn the glory to get T1 gear that i'm not going to want once i'm able to get it **
that said, i hope cryptic considers it. pvp isn't the end all-be all for me so if it doesn't happen, it's not a big deal.

There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)
Me too! One more tip if you buy green's from the beginning (more then enugh for pvp and pve on erly lvl's) then you can sell your blue gear for ad .At lvl60 you have more then 800k(if you dont spend it all for l.box) + you can buy full pvp t1 sett + wep& off h.
