Your quest was very, very lame. Sorry to say so, but it was. I am a true Oz fan, and you obviously aren't. Also, the companions made the combat WAY to easy, so even playing it as a hack and slash killer adventure didn't work. So, you failed at roleplaying and combat. What else makes up a quest? Oh, the scenery I guess, which was pretty cool at some points, but some parts were not well thought out, like jumping over a boulder to see the glitter trail because it disapeared into a rock.
I do see that you pay for this game, and I do apreciate that. Make a better quest, and if this one won a prize, a better one will too, and so I'll play it hoping its better.
you do realize they had a time limit, foundry was down for awhile, and the amount of time it takes to make a foundry quest, right?

I'm sorry you didn't like it. To each his own.
This quest was literally thrown together in a few days, and as I usually take a month or more for my quests, I expect it to have a few issues, though that is not really an excuse. Its development included challenges that the players will never be aware of, nor should they. There are things that I would change given more development time, and I have already started making those changes to the non-featured version of the quest, as the featured version is locked, and cannot be changed. I am actually quite pleased that such a very large number of people have enjoyed the quest, and have appreciated a Neverwintian view of OZ. The response quite literally surprised me, and I had no intention of actually winning the contest with this particular quest, but the players responded, and gave it the highest rating, and so it won.
I do take exception of your judging that I am not an OZ fan, as you clearly have no idea who I am, what my interests are, or really any point of reality with who I might be. I'll accept the rest of your criticism in the spirit in which it is granted, since all of the items you bring up have been brought up in other feedback, and are already being addressed.
I understand that you are operating from a limited viewpoint, so will grant you my pardon for your misconceptions. Being an author of Foundry content, you learn very quickly that you cannot please everyone, and the best you can hope for is to create something that you, yourself can appreciate. I know that this quest will not appeal to everyone, and in general I don't make quests that do appeal to everyone. As I said before I was genuinely surprised that it appealed to as many as it did. If you read back a little farther into this thread you will read how this quest came about, and maybe you will see that ultimately no negative opinion can affect my particular feelings regarding this quest.

Um, you do realize that the authors have ZERO control over the glitter trail, right?
That's part of the reason I experimented with creating my own "trail" in my entry for this same contest.

Good point and as I provided my own Yellow Wisp Road, it might have been logical to just turn off the fairy dust that cryptic supplies players with.
The first version I released had quest points turned off which turned this trail off as well. Then at the urging of a few players that were having difficulty seeing the Yellow Wisp Road on low graphics settings I turned them back on. In the end I really wish I hadn't, and I have turned them off again in the edited version and forced the player to follow the Yellow Wisp Road more directly with invisible walls and such to direct them to the correct quest path.

The first line in this comment is so very wrong. It is in actual fact a very good quest and I can only assume that you have not played many foundry quests and do not understand the limitations we face when making them.
Also the adjusted rating is one of the highest in the game, rated by thousands of people. On top of that this quests hit over 1300 plays in a week without being featured. That is just unheard of. Most struggle to get 80 in a month. You could say that it was because of the competition. But then no other quest in said competition hit nearly that number of plays. I know because I was one of the highest played and had less that 150. In fact you can see the numbers if you go back a few pages.
So you can say you don't like the quest all you like. One star it leave a comment, but don't expect other people to agree with you on a board that is full of other authors that know how things work. It just looks like trolling.
Also Celantra, your Emerald City/castle was one of the highlights of not only your own quest but the foundry in general in my opinion, when I first came across that I was awe struck and your web tunnel thingy was also a great feature. I'm not the biggest Oz fan but I know a good quest when I see one.
