Open challenge - PTR PvP (This Saturday! 8/10/2013)

Hi all,

started as a challenge between 2 guilds from different servers we've decided it will be better if we open this to everyone.

This Saturay 11 AM EST, 8 AM PST, 2 PM GMT.

Every guild is invited for 5v5, 1 class limit per team, maxxed pimped out gear / enchants are welcome.

1. Streaming / Frapsing your games is encouraged!
2. Maxxing your gear would be better since it nullifies all the paranoid people and besides, there is no real way to supervise that.

Signups(very simple):

Leave a reply on this thread, with your @handle ingame and guild name, no need to list your roster.
We are hoping to play against top guilds from each server.

Thanks Lantis for posting. I'll spread the word on our server and see how many guilds we can get on the band wagon. Also those of you that are concerned with who win/loses it doesn't really matter as this is all about having fun playing vs. other competitive teams. So show support and get your teams together and start the coping of characters.

FistFul of Zen - Mindflayer will be there in force.

For those that do not know how to copy characters on PTR or amazing PTR is:

1. http://nw.perfectworld.com/preview
2. Log into your account
3. Select your character you want
4. Select neverwinterpreview mimic
5. Click Copy

You can copy your character unlimited times and then unsocket all of your gear on PTR and upgrade your enchants to perfects/rank 10's.

To access the PTR:
After you have copied 1 character:
1. Load the Neverwinter Launcher like normal
2. Log into your account like normal
3. You will now see "Neverwinter Preview" <---Click Neverwinter Preview and it will start to patch client.
4. After patch is complete click play and enter preview.

When you want to play "live" server, log out and launch game like normal and select "Neverwinter" and you'll be on the live server again.

Note: Best part about PTR is the duping of enchants/gear but also 1 single server.

How do you unsocket all your gear? It still costs AD to remove enchants on the ptr, and I don't see anywhere to just magically give myself the millions I'd need to unsocket and combine everything.

. . . . . Lew moved this back for you. I misinterpreted that it was an event to bring players who don't play on PTS into the PTS as an event there-in. I read it as being a PTS Guild Event and not one for Live Guilds. I see the difference now! Apologies and good luck!

You can duplicate your char more than once, therefore allowing you to mail yourself any item unlimited amount or buying your own kits from the AH for AD.

Best way you could ask a rich buddy who has atleast 4mil on his account to duplicate his account few times and buy your kits from including sending you wards + enchants so you can create perfects etc'.

When you copy your character onto the Neverwinter Preview, you'll also be coping your AD that is on your character. You then post an item for sale on the AH. You then buy the item from another character on your account and the AD is moved. You can do this unlimited times and have all of the AD you need to unsocket your gear.

This is what we did last night and now majority of our guild is in all perfect enchants and rank 10's. Took us a few hours but was a lot of fun with many happy faces. It was like Christmas in Neverwinter and Cryptic was handing out free Perfect & Rank 10 Enchants to all the good little boy's and girls.

If you have any friends with high level enchants & lots of AD. They could copy their character 20 times and unsocket all of their gear and give you the enchants.

I'd be more interested in seeing a test server tournament of blues rather than seeing who can one shot who with rank 10s/perfects.

Me too, unfortunately there is no way to supervise that, ofcourse we can all "agree" etc but that just opens a door for alot of paranoia / suspicion / excuses.

We thought of tracking it through ACT logs, but its too much work to connect the dots and see if the dmg done was through perfect enchant or a scenario of heavy debuff etc'.

Rank 10's / Perfects don't cause 1 shots. Only 1 shot class is TR's with Lurkers up. Everyone else is several hits and if a player plays a glass canon and is 1 shot it's their build not the games fault.

I'd like to get in on this but don't have a TR or a GWF to bring with me. I might be able to bring a cleric and for sure a GF. So maybe we can just group up with others?

Maybe not technically a one shot but most classes can kill someone in their initial series of hits before it is possible to regain control of your character.

Class canon has nothing to do with it really, and a few offensive -> defensive slots won't save you.

Regardless it takes a lot of the skill out of actual battles and instead ends up being who can press a button first.

But, well, as you very well know good gear can't save you from a better player.

More the better IMO. You don't need a full group just show up and we'll get teams together. Our guild mix/matches players from other PvP guilds on our server every night so we can get competitive games going. We hope the PTR will turn into the same thing since Cryptic hasn't merged servers yet and we don't want the PvP player base to disappear.

Thanks. Until servers merge we are trying to unite all of the PvP Players across all servers that enjoy competitive play. Even if you are a solo player please take the time to join us tomorrow on the PTR. We are looking forward to a good turnout and get games rolling it's all about having fun and enjoying PvP in NW.

Smart thinking on not having pvp player base vanish, I really like pvp here and was just getting a little annoyed with the waits just since yesterday though (so not too worried yet!) But this is a great idea. Not sure Saturday works for me but anyway its a great idea and great way to keep interest up. I was just starting to think of dusting off my RIFT characters for pvp today but I am really enjoying the pvp so far here so will stick it out a couple more months to see how it goes.

Really at this point we all should just pvp on test everyday. Why bother pvp'n on live shards other than for your daily 4k AD.

That's what our goal is.

Main issue is there is NO ONE on Test most of the time, if all of the PvP guilds would just start playing on TEST and we can get enough PvPers, then there would be queues.

they should just make us a straight PvP shard and let the other players have PvE shards

give us the gg 20 man + PvE and such and them just the PvE
