Hello, I just released a quest and am willing to trade reviews.

Name: Crypt of the Enchanter
Short code: NW-DO3X5TS21
Description: Zyraen, a wizard known for his powerful enchantments, was rumored buried with powerful magic items. Several adventurers have gone in to search for them, but none have returned. perhaps you should search the crypt yourself.

Known issue: some enemies are respawning.

Version 1.1 release notes.
Some journal pages can now be found around the crypt, they should be easy to find.
The enemies have been spaced out more.
The elemental crystal can no longer be passed by.
The prototype golem fight has been toned down.
All of the crystals in the end fight now properly break.
A lesser air elemental in the end fight is now an air elemental.
The chest no longer defies gravity.
The fire elementals now look diffrerent from the ones found in Cryptic content.

Feel free to nag me in game if I don't get to your quest right away, and please post feedback for mine in this thread rather than in a PM, thanks.

    Sure, I'm in!

    Play Notes:

    -Nice set
-The multi-flamespiker/ flame encounter group always kills my DC, so I died at least once so far. As a DC I know that most people want super combat but once you get more encounters stacked I just know I am toast so it bums me out when I see them. As a good note, all the combat previous to this group at the crystal was ok
-I get the golems and the elementals, but why are the plaguechanged there (there might be a explanation later on, I know)
-Is the chest supposed to be floating? I'm thinking yes but I'm not 100% sure
-too fast writing there: I'm going to say no as I could barely get it to loot so I could review your chest officially. I managed it by jumping and pressing F at juuuust the right time.

Looks like a solid start for a classic dungeon crawl. It might be a bit short if you are hoping this will become a daily. I know I felt like I was always adding filler.

Mine's in my sig, it's a short story based quest.

I just ran yours, the only issue I had was that Acuben's research was a bit hard to find, I probably just missed something in the dialogue though.

The fire elementals at the crystal were two flamespikers and three flameshields, usually, that is a balanced encounter but flamespikers are unusually hard for their difficulty so I took the flameshields out. The chest was not intended to be floating, I was having some problems moving it and I changed the Y value to see if that helped and must have forgotten to change it back.

Edit: Finished playing it. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but it doesn't really push any boundaries either.

Thanks, I will play yours now.

I finished playing your quests, I noticed some objects with original names in both, you may want to change those.
Some customization on the orcs might be nice so they don't look like every other orc in foundry quests ,but not critical.

    Playing the quest now.

I didn't really get the idea behind destroying the crystal 4 times. Wouldn't a normal person walk past when it spawns monsters the first time.
The stacked encounter with the golem just before last room wasn't fun. And after dying having to reclear my way back to that point seemed pointless and frustrating.
The effect on her was really cool. She looks great.
The chest was floating at head height for me.

A very simple quest. You had some nice effects involved but the storyline and path was too basic.
This was more a farming quest than an adventure.

Great quest, the only issue I noticed was that the bucket was invisible. I was AFK for a while so your average play time may be off, sorry.

-The crystal is supposed to be allowing the elementals to be summoned, it is impossible to have respawning enemies in the foundry however so it just spawns a random type each time it is damaged. It is also impossible to have crystals as enemies which also made that boss fight hard.
-I am trying to get feedback on the prototype golem fight, I took two standerd enemies out of a hard encounter and replaced them with four or five minions, (That is why the objective is not actually to destroy it) I will probable take a couple minions out until August 22 when they nerf the buff and I will have to rebalance the fight. You shouldn't have to reclear, I am not sure what is causing that.
-Thanks, I got the effect by customizing Idris.
-The chest is still floating? I thought I fixed that last update.

The end battle was not how I intended it, the original design used a timer and the enemy for it was not spawning sadly.

The bucket issue is because it is a physics object (it can be knocked around) so it bugs outs sometimes. But it is the only **** bucket in the foundry right now.

    Also I played your quest.

Needs some work. Good work with building the effects up, and even if it is a farming quest (which it feels like due to the heavy stacking of powerful mobs) the quest progression itself needs some work,

First, a little reason why we are smashing the crystals, or why it's all elementals, or what the prototype Golem is, even if it is just a book laying around that the player can choose to read for a little background story.

Second, something needs to prevent the player from progressing past the crystals if they do not kill them all. I was unaware they were stacked, so I smashed the first one, and then run on, killing everything else in the place (including the prototype golem) looking for the other 3 crystals before I realized all four are stacked on each other. maybe spread them out a little. Also, the prototype golem, since it is not mentioned until after you break all 4 crystals, should not appear until you get to that part of the quest, kinda breaks the immersion when I kill the Golem, go back, break the other three crystals, and it then tells me to kill the Golem.

The last "boss" fight was well done however, kinda of a multi-stage boss with neat effects done.

-It is not intended to be a farming quest, what stacking of powerful mobs did you see? The only stacked encounter is the golem but I moved half of the original encounter to a room off of the playing area.
-Good idea, I will hopefully update the quest today and add some books.
-I didn't think about that, I will add something to prevent that.
    -Thanks.

Playing and reviewing it now. It needs music. I liked the elemental theme and environment.

I died to the 9 small golems and had to run all the way back T_T. I also don't know why the reward chest was floating.
Overall, I liked it. 5 stars.

Please play through my quest when you can and post your review in the following thread:

I'm trying to get it daily eligible. Thanks, I appreciate it!

I think it might have been more of a side effect of the mobs being so close together. Often, I would engage one set of Golems, which are powerful in their own right, and the flow of combat would cause those a bit further down the path to engage.

Also some of the Golems have some nasty CC abilities, and two of them can make for a challenge, then adding in those extra mobs that accidentally get pulled in compounds it.

As for seeming like a farm quest, this impression comes from the combination of many many higher tier enemies, with veru little story to support why your doing what your doing. Added to that, its literally a singe path you follow from beginning ot end.

But I think with some changes, it can become a pretty good, quick, combat oriented quest that breaks the realm of typical XP farm you see a lot in the foundry.

Taking feedback and criticism is far more then most authors do. Good that you take it so well.

Just also remember, if you have your own vision on what you want, to let people force you to stray to far from that original vision.

    Good Luck.

I released version 1.1, it should fix most of the issues players were having, I still can't do much about the respawning air elementals, but I fixed it for the summoned flame warrior by adding the other one in the encounter to the map.

    Hi there Orangefiree:

I just tried to play the quest referenced above and could not finish it. I got to a point where i had to destroy a crystal and clicked on it then a mob spawned. During that fight i got knocked back and i guess over an invisible wall or something triggered it etc. Anyway, i found myself on the other side of a short wall of fire with the monsters and the crystal on the other side. Could not advance the quest since i could not kill the mob or get to the crystal.

I'd love to finish this quest, so let me know when this is fixed ;o)

    Thanks!
    Thanks,

    Dee

That sounds like a glitch that I would not have any control over but I will take a look. It's not the most ideal workaround but typing /Killme would have gotten you back to the start, obviously, that is not how the quest is supposed to work so I will see what I can do. Do you happen to remember what elemental knocked you back?

Edit: It is not letting me on Neverwinter for some reason, I will check this as soon as I get on.

I tried this quest, by I got to the end, and a wall blocked my path. I didn't know what to do, or how to remove the wall. I walked back and forth the crypt several times hoping to find a trigger(and also fighting respawning air elementals again and again).

    What did I miss?

Also, if you could try my quest, it would be great. :)

Hi i played your quest but i could not finish it after killing the prototype golems i was walking back and forth back and forth trying to find an item i presume, the constant spawning of air elements when i was going back and forth got a little annoying.

I eventually came across out of line of sight i presume it is the item i need, i tried moving around that area till i can interact with it but i couldn't so i gave up sorry. The quest has potential, you will just need to run it a few times to find any bugs or problems.

I hope this doesn't cause you to not play my quest

The only thing causing me to not play your quest is the fact that I can not connect to Neverwinter for some reason. After defeating the golem, you need to walk forward to the NPC named "Nylrisa" to complete the objective. If you did that, you were probably having an annoying glitch I have seen where "reach point" objectives do not complete when I reach the point. Walking away and then back should complete it. I will test it on the live version to see if it was something else.

Edit: It is starting to sound more like the update to my quest broke it, I will fix it as soon as I can get on Neverwinter.

    Hey, orangefiree!

I tried playing through your quest but ran into a show-stopper. At the point where I'm supposed to destroy the crystal (and a bunch of elementals spawn), I began the combat. As a Level 60 Cleric, I used Sun Burst (but not in Divinity mode), and a couple of the mobs were bumped back just a little bit. It was far enough to push them past your wall of fire. As a result, they couldn't attack me and I couldn't attack them. So I couldn't finish the fight, or destroy that crystal, or see anything that comes beyond that point.

    :(

I'll try it again sometime as you continue to tweak the "gauntlet" run. :)

Thanks for trying, it seems that the quest is not working properly at the moment. I am unable to log on to Neverwinter at the moment but I will try to fix the quest as soon as I can get on. I will post here when the issues are resolved.
