Individuals have never sworn allegiance to anything, ever. Only groups of people swear allegiance to their flag, never individuals. Only groups of people join their military, never individuals.

Can anyone tell me why so many players these days feel everything should be fair and right? Did I miss a life patch where this was implemented?
Only two things in this life are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the former. ~ Albert Einstein
Personally I have found this game to have the most UNCARING, UNHELPFUL people in it of almost any online game I've ever played. Join a guild?? WHY?? Are they better once u do. Does that change these UNCARING persons miraculously?
By joining A guild under these circumstances I'm lowing myself. It means I actually want to associate with persons who can care less! Not everyone is bad, actually I've met a few who were great, but they are far and few between! Don't believe me just ask a simple question, nothing drastic and see if it gets answered. MAYHAPS after repeating it 100 times you might get an answer. NOT all at once that is spamming and we have enough of them already!
BUT This Game To join if I want a chance at better equipment with there is forcing me Gwatamyln( game isn't on so I can't spell it sorry) PVP setup. as much as I DETEST PVP I'm game if it advances me or my equipment, But it isn't RIGHT or FAIR that I cannot join in unless I join a guild> ( I actually tried one claimed to be a mature and responsible guild still waiting for a reply OOOOOHHHHH!!!! it burns me so that I HAVE to do this!
Here's my take on your whiny, rambling, and partly incoherent post:
1. I'm among those who don't answer questions. Why? Because they're usually stupid and the asker could easily spend 5 secs of their own time figuring out the answer to it if they weren't such an idiot. But instead, they expect everyone else to drop what they're doing to hold their hand through the game. I can already tell from your post you've probably asked dumb questions too, so I'm not surprised you didn't receive a reply.
2. With your kind of attitude, I hardly doubt any guilds are sad to not be graced by your presence. I know if I were running one and you happened to join, you'd be kicked out within minutes if I were online and caught a whiff of you. I doubt any "mature and responsible" guild will take you on if they truly stand by that statement.
3. You may wish to search out immature and irresponsible guilds instead. You'd fit in perfectly.
^^ I will agree with you somewhat. Those running around the Enclave asking where to buy ID scrolls need a swift kick to the back of the head, maybe that will get their brain cells going. Where I disagree with you is when people ask questions about a dungeon or how to play better. Rather than just responding L2P, you should answer that. They are trying to learn how to play, not everything about game play is obvious to everybody. For some this is their first MMO and they do need help.

Except they're not. It's always the same UI questions or asking something that's already been explained in-game if they could be bothered to read. Sadly, wanting to learn how to play better is never a major concern for anyone.
If someone were to ask me tips on a dungeon, their spec, gear, or anything not immediately obvious, I could spare a few seconds (if I'm not already preoccupied) to throw a little knowledge their way. But when it comes to things that just require a small amount of willingness to experiment/explore, is it really too much to ask that they at least attempt to sort it out themselves before they go firing off a question? There's quite a difference between being willing to learn and expecting/demanding that others teach you.
most mmo from my experience have a lot of guilds so laid back, most don't even care if you ever say hello to any of them.just join one of those and que up for GG.
GG don't really promote guilds to me.GVG wars, guilds able fight for land, etc would do it much better.raiderz has faction based pvp map mixed with pve open 24/7.and i have never felt need join a guild to succeed there.i doubt GG is any different.

While I don't think that guilds should be required, these excuses for not joining one are pretty lame.
The people in this game are no better, or worse, than in any other MMO. I see questions get answered all the time, but I am sure a lot of questions get missed in all the spam chat. People not answering your question does not make them bad people. It's not like we are all staring at the chat window all night long waiting for you to ask your questions. Most of us are playing, or chatting within our guilds, and never see the question.
See, if you had a guild, you could ask them questions with a much better chance of getting an answer.
yea, Ive only seen this type of behavior since the inception of EvE Online ten years ago..then watched it happen in EQ2..then watched it happen in WoW and AoC...then Rift and SWTOR...oh and of course it was no surprise when i was greeted with that behavior from a guild here in NW..so...the fact that I have obviously been doing my homework in the MMO gaming community for 10+ years should hold no weight at all. I definitely don't know what I speak of..I'm sure its all made up.
I have run very large guilds to very small guilds in most major MMOs. As a guild leader, I apply a fair structure in ranking, but it's not based on on "veteran hierarchy". Its based on your contribution to the guild and its members. Sure, there is some content in some games that take a certain skill level and there might be some that are better than others, but I try and give everyone an equal chance to accomplish something. For instance, I had a new member (recruited within the hour) a few weeks ago and took him on a CN run. He did well and his main hand even dropped. Good for him.
Our guild tends to treat everyone fairly. If you're logged in, then your part of the pool of people we depend on to get things done. If we already have a group running a dungeon, then we'll try and start another group to get you in it. If someone needs to run something, I have seen members give up there spot for someone else. Players have to learn the content and this is done by putting them in a dungeon to give it an honest run. This is how a guild is supposed to function and it starts with strong leadership at the top. It doesn't matter if you just joined or you've been with us for weeks or months, I expect this from all my members, officers, and leaders. If not, then your future in the guild needs to be reexamined.
Sorry that you've not had this experience in your MMOs, but there are plenty of guilds out there that are run correctly. I just don't think the bad ones make up the majority.
You could just do what I did: Accounts are free, so having a bunch of them hurts you in no way. Halfling Rogues level fastest; make 4 more accounts with level 15 alts and start your own guild. I will say having five instances of Neverwinter running at once for guild formation makes your system run rough!
I just logged in to play for a big and wanted to check out Gauntlgrym. But I can't.
Why? Because I'm not in a guild big enough to field a team to enter. I don't want to get in to the good and bad of being in a guild, not interested in that debate. What I am interested in is why I can't do this new content without being in a guild. Queuing for random dungeons and pvp and skirmishes works fine...but not Gauntlgrym?
For real? What a failure. Ugh.

If your guild is affiliated you can enter gaunt with or without guild mates. If not...bug your leader to affiliate you.

Don't do it... Gauntelgrym is far from needed. I'm currently one of the top geared cw//dc and I never even had the possiblity to use GG. You're whinning air (I did all my stuff alone). The guild I currently am in with my cleric//cw has 3 members, friends of mine who honestly dont connect anymore. Thing is, I have NEVER had a DD where I didn't had the opportunity to go in a party via friend list... I'm usually making my own parties tbh.
Anyways, moral of the story, you dont need a guild, stop whinning, you dont need GG.
