Confirm changing to default keyboard layout to English-US not US-international.
Control Panel >> Region and Language >> Keyboards and languages add English -US keyboard Change default input language keyboard to English US (or just US) and its done, changing default is better because it will not revert after second to other systems default layout which is the problem. I figured out gimmie a beer.
ok well I will help the programmers out a bit and let them know with the following settings I have no issues at all with the game, I can Run GG I can cast all spells and I can also talk to and get dialog boxes from all npc's

Keyboard Fr, trying switching to UK, US, Japanese , ... resetting UI.
No impact -> no chest, no dialogue, no nothing working on chest dialogue
=> DD / gauntlgrym / ... have therefore no interest anymore as lock & prevented to get chest reward
Tried pressing 1, Shift+1 , ...all kind of combinaison to get content of chest or dialogue but not working.
=> not only window is not appearing but dialogue is not available

I had it too, I don't know if it was because of the reboot or the windows updates I installed or a patch (quite frankly didn't check if it was patching when I opened the launcher again) but now it's working.
***IMPORTANT***
I don't know if you guys from NWN fixed it already, but as I suspected - issue to the dialouge problem lies in the game client language detection (English, German and other general languages). So if you're from a country not supported by any of the languages implented in the game (like me, Croatia) I'm guessing you won't see them.
Temporary SOLUTION for players to the problem is:
- switch your general system language to English (US), Keyboard settings as well
- restart PC
- and VOILA - enjoy!
- go to control panel -> region and language
- change only "format" to English (US) (first tab)
- go play
- check if it works
- close game
- return to control panel -> region and language
- return format to your original settings
- go play
no need to restart pc, it seems that client need to detect US settings once and then it's "saved"..

Same problem here. English version, but German keyboard layout. Could not see any text in NPC windows.
Changed keyboard layout to English (US). Now it works.
I was using Portuguese (brazilian) keyboard layout and wasn`t able to talk to Profession vendor. Changed it to English version and it worked. Thank you for the tip.

Even tried reinstalling client and making a new character but alas.
I will try to set Windows lang to eng.
