Because things take time to code, do the artwork for, animate, balance, test, get aproval from Wizards of the Coast....
Etc.
What the players want is coming...
Except the "now" part. Patience, you must learn patience!
I think he understands that. What I don't think you and the people still playing this game understand is that...the game...is not...finished. It was "live" when it was in beta...and then it went "live" again. And it's full of "coming soons". NO game I've played that released was this lacking in content (even STO, which was lacking content, wasn't this bad). And don't give me that "it's an MMO, it's always evolving". That's a load of bull. If they had taken the time to release a finished product, I (and the countless others who agree with me as is evidenced on the forums here) wouldn't need to be having this conversation. Why are we here "complaining" as you'll call it? Because we love D&D, we're fans of Cryptic/PWE, and we were hoping for something amazing from this franchise. And we feel let down, disappointed, and somewhat betrayed by the initial advertising. A game BY D&D fans FOR D&D fans was on their main advert video forever. This is more of a spiritual nod to D&D rather than a D&D game.
I stopped playing this game right after it's "open beta" began because it's not done, and I'm not going to invest the time in playing a game that doesn't have the basic features that it claims it's going to have. A "free" expansion a month or two after release? That's simply laughable.
This isn't about "patience", this is about a product being advertised, and released, that is in a wholly unfinished state. Will I play? Yeah, but probably not for a good 6 months or a year, when it's finished.
What you son't understand is that this game is free to play. It's also fun to play.
It's got more content than many solo RPGs I've played and it has been fun!
If I was paying a monthly subscription, I might whine about lack of stuff to do during endgame - though I'm surprisingly interested in continuing to craft. Probably so I can have an opportunity to get some dyes and add more variety to the woefully limited armor.
The game is evolving. New stuff on its way.
Be grateful for what you've got. Patience is a virtue.
Becouse the customers want a D&D game. This game is not designed for the D&D community rather a campaign to get a slice of the wildly popular warcraft gen mmo world. I thought it was common knowledge at this point...... This game is not gonna have options. Its intentionally limited by design. Asking for options of any kind that translates to tradional D&D player satisfaction is simply not in the cards. WOTC has different goals for this game then what a large portion of the player pool wants. Different goals.....

Why are you spending your time and efforts on content we have not been asking for?
The module1 page shows no additional classes and no paragon paths. You have not released any sort of information or timeline concerning the two most requested things.
You are giving us Moon and Sun elves, when we want Drow.
You are manufacturing "Product Y" when your customers have been asking for "Product X".
why?
Fact: my girlfriend wants to play Eladrin, and not Drow.
The basis for your entire argument is invalid, and Cryptic is in fact giving it's customers what they are asking for. It just happens to be different customers then yourself.

I'd rather they add more content and fix the current content, before adding more classes. I don't want to play a ranger through all of these bugs and the same content again.
So much lol worthy material here but I'll be brief.... Whose truth? It may be your and his truth but don't go around slapping a universal truism on something most of us don't agree with.
From what I've seen most of the forums are with him and not just here. Massively has tons of people blasting Neverwinter, MMORPG.com dislikes Neverwinter. I've seen a number of posts saying the same thing on sites like Reddit and other game forums.
What lost them millions was a bad business model, and wooing hardcore raiders while ignoring the players that was actually there for more than just e-peen I was at the summit in Austin, it was just like the one SOE had with the EQ players back in the day; hardcores demanding ridiculous concessions and exclusivity. By the end of the event Bioware knew they made a mistake.
That's not true and you know it, what lost them millions was it was a bad MMO with a Dev Team that was just full of arrogance to the players. That summit from everything I heard had those 'hardcores' as you put them bring up great point after great point, and BioWare just kinda sat there and did nothing. The mistake BioWare made was making TORtanic too WoW like when it should have been more SWG Pre-CU like.
You are speculating, you have no, zero, nada, clue what they are focusing on all you know is they aren't doing what you want now.
No we all know what the Dev's are more end game raid content, more pvp, open world pvp, putting in things they told us they would put in like Warlock and Drow. I don't remember anyone outside the RPer's asking for more Elves.
Threats are stupid at this point, yes SWTOR had a massive exodus, but since the F2P conversion thoe servers are heavy to very heavy most nights. Is the game a WoW killer? No, but in the great scheme of things they aren't doing bad at all, also Cryptic has said they aren't trying to compete with WoW.
I don't see any threats, I see a number of player who want this game to be more then the 'WoW Killer' game that Cryptic really wants. I don't know where you read that about TORtanic but last I heard the servers have been light at prime time. And sadly EA is stuck with the whole thing. And yes the Dev's want this game to be a WoW killer. Every theme park/level based MMO is trying to be like WoW. If they didn't want to compete with WoW they should have gotten away from the class system, given us a fully open world.
Heeding the advice of Armchair developers is perhaps the worst advice they can take, they have their roadmap, (which is internal) their milestones, and a couple decades of experience in actually making MMO's. They need to stick with those and ignore the crying by an impatient minority, the same minority that predicted STO's death prematurely.
You know it's time we stop this this 'it's a minority' as it's NOT a minority. I would take the words of those so called 'haters' any day of the week. Those players have experiences in playing MMO's, they know what the players want and how we want it.

this game is supposed to be a D&D game to the D&D community... it won't have the same feel because this is a mmo, it was already made it clear that the mmo format wouldn't let them take advantage of the full D&D potential
it is not intentionally limited, it is technically limited
Go check out the post by PWE/Cryptic on module 1. It clearly states blah blah 'our first free module'... Why put the word 'free' in there if there isn't any other option? Exactly.
didn't see any of that... but they are probably making it clear to you and new players that expansions will b free, since some "f2p" games uses freemium model, new content can't be access by free players
Another thread that goes in a twirly-wirly fog of misinformation, name calling, empty threats, and random bickering comes to an end.
We all like to read specific, constructive ways to make the game better, but these whine threads lead to nowhere positive for the player community or dev community.

I've been screaming for new classes louder than any pasty white boys could even think about screaming. You're welcome.
To show PWE/Cyptic the anger people have with them.
[insert Bruce Lee screaming audio here]
Yes and it never turns into a flame thread....oh wait

the game launched 3 days ago WITH an expansion and people still complain
people want new content every 3 hours xD
