I've been experiencing horrifiic server performance this afternoon with frequent 'server not responding' messages and extreme lag at times. This is new as of today, the first time I've played the game post patch, I've not had any issues with the game previously.

Edit: Things seem to be back to normal now. Whether it helped or now I disabled on demand patching and restarted the launcher, this prompted a 1.9GB patch and all seems fine since this installed.

Game has become unstable since that update on 14/6/13. My game was very stable prior to this update but now I received a Server Not Responding then subsequent boot from the game every now and then. It is not consistent and can happen during map transition or when just walking along and fighting goons.

Was fine yesterday but sucks today. Pretty sure this is a PWE issue... Been playing with no problems for long time until today. I will post my stats in a little bit but pretty sure it is useless.

Edit: So far seems to only be a problem in dungeons.

Edit: Ok take that back it is happening everywhere....

I am very disappointed, I Was looking forward to trying out the new NERFS to all my characters too......

Maybe I am missing it but I do not see a problem here?

It's taking like 5min to load my character and when I finally get into the game, I kept lagging and rubberbanding.

Wow! That's terrible. You have 1700MS of jitter plus some packet loss and overall high latency.

Here's how you can tell where the bad part of the network is for you:
When your are in peak hours and have the peak problem, use your tracroute (tracert) to get the list of numbers you will need to ping, each for about 30 seconds or until you establish a problem exists.

    1) ping the last ip address to verify the issue exists: ping -t 208.95.185.41

    2) now work down the list 1 hop at a time and see what you have: ping -t 38.11.40.114

    3) continue down the list until you no longer see the issue: ping -t 68.48.4.22

    4) once you find where the bad ping stops, you will know where on your IP route that the problem lives.

Most likely you will only need to go backwards 1 or 2 hops. Once you find the culprit it helps you to know exactly who to contact with the problem, and you also have some proof to show them, because 90% of the time they will say they have no problems, because they only look at a very high level. If you post your findings here, it may also prove helpful to the Cryptic team to isolate a bad carrier.

Thanks for the info mate :) Will keep it in mind if something like this happen again!

I took does trace routes last night when the problem begins... and the highest numbers was always at "208.95.185.41"

I did send does to Cryptic last night and today... I did not had a single lag spike after 12 day's of suffering :) I guess they did something to fix my problem!

I'll add myself to this new drama,

Even though I'm Australia I've had no major problems with Neverwinter since closed beta. Last night though I had my first major spike in lag, and even today. Good thing about it, it was quite funny seeing npcs teleport around like some new fancy control wizards.

Edit: Things seem to be back to normal now. Whether it helped or now I disabled on demand patching and restarted the launcher, this prompted a 1.9GB patch and all seems fine since this installed.

I've been trying to patch up for the past 7.5 hours and barely get 30-50k received before it just idles out until I quit/restart and get 30K more, etc. I did what cheesegromit did and disabled on-demand patching and got 250MB received within 2-3minutes. Granted, it did change what was left of my patch upgrade from 780MB to a 2875MB patch download, but it's at least downloading now and patching has resumed to normal so far. Something definitely seems wonky with the on-demand patching service.

ok this might be a silly question but I'm in Virginia and my tracert doesn't go up to Boston which seems the easiest it goes over to the midwest getting timed out in Phonenix so I'm wondering if some of the servers are on East Coast and some on West Coast and if so which are the East Coast servers. (I had thought it was one big server ?)

I've been having problems for over a week. At first I thought it was my internet losing connection because it worked fine later on the same day, but it started happening more and more often i got the time out message and I was frozen until I got logged out. The last week I've hardly been able to stay in game at all just a few seconds to a couple of minutes mostly. I sent a ticket in and was told it was going to be sent to tech support but then soon after I got another reply saying they assumed it was now fixed. I have told them it wasn't fixed but I've heard nothing since.

I've tried restarting my computer, router, modem. Flushed DNS, updated firmware on my router, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, reinstalled the patcher, set options to disable on demand patching, fast launch, patch via proxy, safe mode. I've tried altering settings to higher my framerate, set my router to prioritise Neverwinter, talked nicely to it, shouted at it, threatened it, promised it all good things. Nothing works.

When I get kicked out of game I often lose my internet connection completely so I can't even use a browser, nothing else on the network loses internet connection, not my husbands computer, my phone, my kindle etc they are all connected to the internet with no interuption in service. I can play other games without this problem.

    I'm on Comcast ISP

Cannot connect to login server when going to Change Character; please advise.

This problem has something to do with your new 'Change Character' option, because when i use the old '/gotocharacterselect' and let the Log Out timer count all the way to zero I have no problem. It does not try to 'Connect the Login Server' (which is failing 50% of the time at least), it simply says 'Retrieving Character List'.

    Please correct this issue.
