No body is asking the developers to make content that only I enjoy. I and others in this forum am asking them to don't mix the 2.
More than happy for them to add PvP content, just don't make it a half gate which forces PvE players to PvP in accessing a PvE content.
This is like saying to you weslantz1977, for your next big PvP content, you have to race an other team to finish a PvE dungeon before you can enter a PvP match of your choice.
Except it's side content. Not the "Next big pve content." It isn't. It's side content with other means to get existing gear. It does not provide better gear than what else is available. It does not drop the best gear. It's optional.

Its been billed as end game content.

Winning in phase 1 will give you a "resilience" buff for phase 2.
Depending on how they balance this buff, this could turn the losers of phase 1 into a bunch of trash mobs. So, still PvE content lol :P
Which it is. It provides the best armor in the game but so are the dungeons which also drop the best armor in the game. It's side content for end game. Another method to get end game armor. Another method to get the same armor that already exists.

Has it been proven to only drop the existing tier2s? I can't imagine that something like grym would serve as another way to get existing items.
It's been stated that people who don't want to PvP in Gauntlgrym don't have to. They can fill support roles for the PvPers. For a guild this seems very nice. For queuegroups.... not so much.
There's just no incentive to keep playing after a loss, being put in a lower dungeon is like punishment, and people will quit because of that. It also looks there will be a rather harsh sliding scale with all the perks a team gets after a win. Making losing even more disempowering.
When I heard about ballistae's, catapults and 20v20, I figured they would make sieging possible. One team defending the keep, the other attacking, or both. Real PvP maps, with real objectives besides capture the flag.
Maybe it's going to be great fun, but on paper I don't like where they are taking this game.

I personally don't care content is content, they arnt offering any rewards can't obtain in another way, Pve has had how many maps since the game began and they now add 1 more with a little PVP in it and all the sudden the sky is falling. I don't like crafting things so underyoursame reasoning I should get on here and complain that crafters have access to content I dont just because I dont like to do it.

Yes. It says "Tier 2." We already have tier 2 gear. Note that Grym was meant to launch with the actual open beta but didn't make it. We already had dailies for it but couldn't do it.

I disagree. Why should it drop the best gear? Many people are upset by the idea that it would. I think it was a good call on cryptic's part. I love the idea of Gauntlgrym even if it only drops tier 2 gear. Sounds like a fun way to gear up my other characters.

New content whatever the format should be new content with new rewards and challenges, not recycled content with recycled rewards & challenges.
Just my opinion...

About rewards, remember that there are also the Gauntletgrym coins that we receive at level 60 from the "box" and that we never used.
I wouldn't complain if I could use those to buy directly the T1/T2 armor sets instead of the unicorn/drake weakened versions.

Because what this game really needs is yet ANOTHER currency to buy existing items?

Except it was meant to be released with the open beta. It's content that didn't make it in time. Look to module 1 for really "new stuff and new rewards."

Actually, for best gear yes, the currency we have now is just good for getting up your gear score and fill the gaps if you haven't been lucky with drops, but it doesn't really give anything worth drooling on.
Most of the unicorn/drake items are utter trash, and if I didn't spend 200 drake seals on Splinter for the laughs I would be sitting with over 400 unused drake seals by now.

So we can already buy the best items in the game very easily with diamonds or gold but you think what we need is the ability to now buy it with purple coins also?
Just looking for clarification before deciding to repeatedly bang my head on the desk or not
Sounds like a HAMSTER system to me , what if some party members d/c or just leaves? if you have to complete the first 2 phases to get to the final dungeon then how the heck are lost players ever going to be replaced since it looks like you can't just queue for the dungeon...

That's right.
Go ahead and bang the head on the desk
Yeah but its PvE game content that we haven't seen yet and they giving it to PvP players ..... that is so much win.
Simple logic.
We are consumers.
Cryptic develop and produces Content for us the consumers to enjoy.(That's the benefit).
In this case they made PvE Content, that you have to PvP to unlock. That means they have added unfavorable conditions for me to consume and enjoy their content.
The solution is than - since its not enjoyable anymore, than i will no longer support said developer.
Until such time as a dev post states that i can enter the tier 1 and tier 2 Gauntlegrym dungeons without having to participate in any PvP activities, this will be the stands I am taking.
It's "then" not "than." Are they not teaching the difference between these two words in school anymore?

Once again you misunderstand me, what they are doing to us PvEers is like making you craft items before you can access PvP.

Actually, it's not side content. The content in the game is already done, beaten, repeatedly. New content is main content. Any new content...
For me, Gauntlgrym is what this game should be all about. The books, the game, all based around Gauntlgrym. So, to say it's side content, is throwing all of that out the window.
That's how I feel about it. Until they say otherwise with an faq about it, I don't think it will work. There should be multiple options.
This game is pay/farm/exploit to win. Those that pay/farm/exploit the most will almost always win.
Also, if I'm reading correctly, some thing that if one group beats another, Gauntlgrym will open for a specific, large group of players. A faction style thing. But, we have no factions.
TL : DR? Then don't waste my time responding.

Are you on Mindflayer? I saw a gnoll named Splinter and couldn't stop laughing. He was sitting there, stuck in enclave. Had my guild laughing as well. There probably are a few with that name though.

No, I'm on Beholder, but I guess there must be lots of those running around
And it's not a gnoll, it's a were-rat.

Yeah, that's what it is, were-rat. I couldn't think of it. But, probably the funniest thing I've seen so far.

Please, please don't do this HAMSTER. If you have nothing to contribute, and can only resort to grammar HAMSTER tactics, don't waste everyone's time.
