So the majority of players never used the auction house, grouped with others who may have cheated, or took advantage of this economy? Because that is the only way the played legitimately.
I ended up grouping with a few people that were exploiting. I didn't know it until we killed the first boss in about 3 seconds.
Not my fault, but it looks like I did not play legitimately either. Yes I quit the dungeon, and yes I reported the cheating player, who IS STILL in game btw, but I hate it that someone basically made me cheat.
Actually, you did play legitimately since you had no knowledge of the exploit at the time of the dungeon and had no intention to circumvent any game mechanics. You also went as far as to report the incident. You are certainly not a cheat.
Also, when I say that most people have played legitimately, it's meant that generally most people did not overtly abuse and exploit the game. There might be isolated incidents but in general that was not the intention of the majority of players. The key word is intention...
Also, using the auction house, playing the market, is not cheating. Cheating would be to take advantage of an exploit or game mechanic that unfairly advantages one over another. Buying an item for a low price and selling it higher is not cheating, it's just capitalism.

Thanks. I don't know, I just get into RP games because they let me escape reality, and being forced to cheat in one is ****ing lame.
I want my character to EARN his stripes, not have them handed to them on a silver platter.

i'll be honest.
I'm just lettin it fly at this point.
exploits, bugs, what have you.
I'm just gonna play on and deal with it and keep to my plan of only spending 15 dollars a month.
Because....
When ESO comes out me and my entire guild are playing that.
It will have bugs. It may even have exploits.
But I can already tell you simply BECAUSE it's elder scrolls that the dev team will be far better than what i've been seeing here so far.
Such a shame cuz this is a good game.
I really hope ESO is sub based. I really do.

It is. You'll be paying 15 bucks a month for a single player game. I'm serious. Look into the lore for the personal story. Hope you like playing as Harry Potter. Yeah my interest in the game is very low now.

The reason most people exploit bugged bosses is because they are bad and can't do it normally but still want the gear so they can be "L337". For the example of the spider boss the first time I was in there was with DC(me), TR, GF, CWx2. Just over 8300 gear score this was the first T2 zone I did and we first pulled the boss the legit way and it wasn't that hard at all. I have been with groups that insist on trying to bug the boss over the wall or w/e and every time it never worked right.
We constantly see people doing terrible dps, its not good when your 1 TR is doing as much damage as the entire group combined. Or does several million damage higher than 11k gs TRs when he is only at 9k.
People think bosses are so hard because their DPS is atrocious. When only 1 of your teammates is doing half of the groups damage something is wrong (especially if you have 2 TRs in your group). If everyone was doing the DPS they SHOULD be doing adds would die quickly and the boss would go down 2x as fast. What kind of TR only does 5 mil damage in Karrundax?
Obviously a lot of things need to be fixed because the amount of exploits is dumb but people also need to get good because most of the content isn't that hard and will severly struggle if aren't able to bug encounters. IDK why people even bug spider boss out, you just need people that are good and 1 CW.
TLDR; People exploit because they are REALLY bad and can't do it normally.
Let me refute just about 100% of what you claim...
The one shot is not an insta kill....but rather a high damage weapon that only pops those not geared or speccd properly for it....as to it being invisible what does it matter that it is invisible? always expect it to pop pff every X amount of time...and yes I have its cooldown memorized as I tank and know when it is launched.
DHC are not OP. With all gear there must be an item that is the strongest of all the weapons......that staement comes off as utter rubbish as Dual Heav Cannons are such an item.
Once again u speak thorugh your caboose........a sci in an escort is uber on the same par with a tac officer...sensor scan is a nasty bit of equalizer.
Escorts are not at nearly cruiser levels once again u are over generalizing a few ships, namely the vet ship and 1 other..the rest are still glass jaws even when jevonite hard points are used.
While being off topic and out in the wrong forums I felt it necessary to correct this STO player for his follies.
Oh I forgot...the Bug ship while having the best assortment of layouts is not the best ship...the best ships are those piloted by well trained captains ..so that whine is uncessary too.
Amusing.
STO combat/gameplay is faceroll easy provided you have a really good build. Not joking I can fly perfectly fine with nearly every ability binded to my spacebar for lazy mashing. Now because it is so easy many fail to see any balance issues because honestly the end game content can, and has been, cleared by shuttles.
End game queue system does not matter one bit. If you are half decent at the game you simply carry any PuG to victory no matter how terrible they might be. These missions have been completed by two players with the other three simpy watching. Damage is the only thing that matters, faster you kill faster you get the loot. Hence the DPS class (Tactical Captain in an Escort using DHCs) is OP in the sense that they can kill faster than the rest.
However STO is designed for a casual fan-base. I highly doubt a fantasy based MMO can survive with a casual player base. Additionally a large number of STO players are not MMO players by nature and many of it's flaws go unnoticed by the masses. Once again I doubt that will work as well with a fantasy based MMO that has tons of competition compared to say a sci fi MMO where you get to fly spaceships and don't have many options.
With that said though I must say from my experience so far NWO is leaps ahead of STO in overall design. Granted that's not saying much.
