At launch a build that I would prefer to play will not be available. I enjoyed very much playing the DC in BWE3, and will roll one at launch. However, it will get relegated to crafting alt/mule status once (and if I guess as we do know for sure) a ranged striker is introduced.
I am interested to see how many players will or will not be playing their preferred 'main' character at launch, assuming for now that the game will launch with 5.

I voted no even though my main is (partially) available. My main will be whatever NWO Wizard Class (Build) eventually gets the Simbarch of Aglorond Paragon Path (hoping for this!). The Spellstorm Mage path just doesn't feel right with a Control Wizard whose most powers deal with Ice/Cold damage.
When the War Wizard comes, it will replace any "main" that I have that may be a Control Wizard.

Well, I voted "Yes". I liked several of the playstyles available and one of them is going to be my main for the time being. I might eventually switch it with another one but I intend to enjoy the game from day 1 and not wait for some class that I might not even like when it becomes available.
I always gravitate towards quick damage dealers - rangers and rogues, in other words, although mostly rangers (I've been sticking small pointy blades in monsters for about as long as I've been playing RPGs).
Would I prefer if rangers were available from the start? Of course I would. Am I going to relegate my rogue to alt status when the ranger does eventually become available? Can't say that I will - the rogue feels amazing, and there is a part of me that is worried the ranger won't have the same stellar level of polish as the rogue; I will definitely play a ranger, though, assuming there isn't too high of a zen cost to do so.

I prefer to play a liquid metal T2000 terminator. Pretty sure it won't be available.
Voted no, I'll roll a couple alts to fool around with on, but my main will be a two weapon ranger as soon as its out. The character will just be for RP until then.
really depends on if Archery Ranger makes it to launch or not, don't care for mages, but like ranged classes, doesn't leave alot of choice :P wtb throwing weapon focused class, lol
Yes for me. the DC is well done and I like the dps/healing/and cc of it. well rounded.
On the flip side if a melee cleric( battle) was comeing out first you would see the rageing crys of so many people demanding a ranged healer.
The ranger has and will always be the most played dps( as with like every game in history) because the bottomline is it is the easiest class to do well with. simple easy ranged fast dps. average or even below average players always can grab a ranger type toon and do better then they do on anything else.
If cryptic is smart and I think they are.. they will have the 5 base classes for release and then also start off with a ranger class people must pay for to play. and I hope it costs a good 40 dollars to open the class. I hope any class they release costs a good 40+.

Voted no, whilst Cleric is available, the miracle worker one of the healer based paragon clerics of 4ed is not available.
As I've mentioned in many other threads, the main I am very eagerly waiting for is the Barbarian. GWF will tie my over until this happens (hopefully not too long a wait).
I voted yes. In computer rpgs I usually play a rogue type character. For tabletop D&D I play Rangers a lot. The Rogue will satisfy me to start with, but I can't wait to roll up a Ranger.
Honestly though I just can't wait to play. Not too concerned about which builds are available right now.

I voted no. In the past I always played fighters but they were more of a DPS build than the Great Weapon Fighter is. So I will make due with that. I have also played paladins and assassin rogues. I am hoping for either a protecting or avenging paladin. Even a tempest ranger type would probably suffice over what the great weapon fighter currently is for me. However that being said, I am not entirely sure that I will ever swap mains. I really liked the Great Weapon Fighter in beta 3 and I think that I may be able to be happy with that in the long run. *shrug* I will likely try them all and if another grabs my fancy I will just play that.

Paladin would be my main class of choice if it were an option at launch. If I had lots of free time I'd probably play all of the classes; I think they've done a good job making them all interesting. However, as my free time is limited, I'll probably concentrate on a Devoted Cleric at launch. Only time will tell whether or not I'll switch to a Paladin when/if they become available.

So i voted no, this however isn't taking into account the fact that cleric will probably get re-jiggled in beta weekend 4 so there was no maybe button hence the "no".
I voted no. I generally play a Cleric but the Devoted Cleric doesn't seem to fit me so I will be eagerly awaiting Scourge Warlock. Until then I will mess around with all the available classes.

Fighter with two-handed sword and rogue are available, I'm all set. Although I'd prefer multiclassed rogue with lot of skills and big sword, I can easily live with these.

I love being the healer, I love supporting and helping other players in groups. So I will be playing the Devoted Cleric, even if it isn't purely healing. Mainly cause the other clerics will probably never be as good as it in healing. They already nerfed it because it was too good at keeping people alive, why would they make another cleric that was even better? even if the Devoted Cleric was more Damage build than healing.
According to the 4E rules, there is another type of support cleric, the Shield Cleric, who excels at preventing damage rather than healing. It might be a very interesting class to play as well for someone who enjoys healing roles, and if it ever gets implemented in NWO it could become a serious competitor to the Devoted Cleric.

I think its horrible that they have started the game with specc'd classes suck as 'control' wizard or 'devoted' cleric. Just leave is vanilla so we can build like we want. I played war wizard in D&D. I have no interest in playing a control wizard. I also find the information they have on classes to be very cryptic...you have to hunt the forums etc. Why not have an easier place to find info on classes and how the system works?

I am very interested in trying a drow assassin type of character. I have bought the Hero of the North package so I think that it might just be available to me.

Want to emphasize that I am not attempting to grief this game at all. I like it very much, and am chomping at the bit to get playing.
Any build can and will be fun. 100% contentment for me will not be reached until I'm holding a composite long bow in my hot little pixelated hands.
