I have been thinking about picking one of the Elves. I always was a half elf in 2nd edition because of my love for triple multiclassing which annoyed the rest of my party.
I love picking Elves though and then making them fighters or clerics, with the idea of seeing this agile and quick character being boggled down by heavy gear, but still being pretty bad ***.
I always play an elven fighter, I don't care about min/max stats. I make my choices for roleplay and gameplay reasons (I prefer tanks/defensive warriors).

Indeed, I will have at least one elf/eladrin and one half-elf - among others, human included. My main will be human, in fact.
Of course I'll be playing an elf... of the drow variety
Seriously, though, I always play elves of every kind (except half-elves ) more than any other race. One of my recurring alts is a nymph/dryad themed elf druidess, and I also tend to make my ninja themed toon an elf (but might consider human as well). I might also considering elf for my main if I can make her hair white and her skin chocolate brown, then claim she's a "dark elf", though, drow is my primary inclination (but ultimately it depends on which looks aesthetically the "best").
I never played an elf before but when the archer class is released, I'm going full Legolas for the hell of it. And just to make it even more glorious, I'll try to get my character's appearance as close to Orlando Bloom as possible. Hopefully the archer class has Shield Surfing as a daily power, as well.
Yep, I'll select half-elf as my first character race. Something about the "human roots and elven wanderlust" always appeals to me. Psychological tug-o-war.
Wondering if I'll have to buy a 4.0 rules book though. I see feats in the racial categories I don't recognize. There a wiki on 4.0 feats and racial bonuses? I haven't looked.
half elf ranger as per my sig
elf wizard when i by enough character slots. But i dont normally play a wizard but the control effects look so good i think i will have to.

My first ever D&D character was a half-elf ranger. Had great times with him.
When Neverwinter launches, my cleric will be a half-elf. Looking forward to creating him.
I'll nail down his looks tonight when the beta opens.
Inasmuch as Half-Elf is one of my usual staple races for an MMO when available, most likely. As far as what *class* this time around? What I see in the upcoming CBWE will determine the class this incarnation...
No, but maybe later...I have to play a Drow....Cryptic put so much pressure on me to play a Drow now that I got the Hero pack. I mean, if I don't, I feel like I might be lynched by the Drow-fans for getting a Hero pack and not playing a Drow. Therefore, because I fear victimisation, I will start with a Drow. But yeah, maybe after 60 days.

Mostly my Mages are Elves or Half-Elves (when give then choice). So yes, i'll probably be a Half-Elf. The Thiefling does seem cool though but might save that for a future Warlock.

Die like the rest
Half-elves and Drow are what I usually play.
