It funny how most people seem to just report what earlier comments say... anyways, as has been said before the "Old Wolf"'s name actually is Mirt "the Moneylender"
However he was also referred to as Mirt the Merciless and Lord Walrus, but those would be more references than names, furthermore he was suspected and sometimes referred to as a Masked Lord of Waterdeep, thought technically that's a title rather than a name
I was thinking it would be amusing, if I was fast enough, to post the wrong answer as one of the first responses and see how many people copied it.

Why that is Mirt the Moneylender of Waterdeep! He was referred to this nickname on several occasions in the Elminster Series by Ed Greenwood. Which, were by far some of my favorite FR novels!
